Diablo 2 has a tad more variety than the first (sometimes), but is essentially an RPG for the mildly inebriated.

Not that i'm complaining :D

ughh. Diablo II. It was like meditation yes, only with more screaming, wailing, frustration and evil. ;) . Seriously, it was the sound which got on my nerves about that game more than any other aspect. The semi-orgasmic screams of the dying fallen-sisters drove me insane.
I have a strange nervous system, I relax my intellectual activity best when I'm occupied with something that demands concentration but no brains :D So playing Diablo II or chopping woods are the perfect type of relaxations for me, but I have easier access to Diablo II since I live in the middle of a city :)

The sound in the game is horrible, I play with very low volume. Your interpretation of the fallen sisters dying-sounds will however make me play with louder sound next time :D

I haven't dissed Diablo II since I haven't played it. However, I do have and have played Diablo. I find it boring because of how monotonous it is to just walk around in an odd looking dungeon shooting strange things with my bow for hours on end.
I don't think you'd like Diablo II either, it's quite similar and very monotonous. You walk around and shoot on everything that moves, it's IMO not at all an RPG, it's a shoot-em-up game where motor-perceptual skills is the only think you need. :D

The fact that it's a 'shoot-em-up game where motor-perceptual skills is the only thing you need' actually makes it sound like fun, which is why I got Diablo in the first place. I just have this problem where I get bored very easily. In fact, I can be playing 3 games, participating in three online in-chat RPGs, talking to a half dozen people in IM windows, listening to music, and spamming here in SYM and still be bored. :( I've found that RPGs like Pokemon and the BG series are some of the few games that are able to keep me interested because of the variety within the game and the ability to control character growth and come up with odd strategies and combinations of skills. :)

What I find really odd, though, is that a simple little game like Pong or Astroids can keep me occupied without me getting bored. :confused:

I play Diablo 2 for the sake of items only. I guess I am just a pack-rat at heart. For a while I was obsessed with collecting every single unique item in the game. Now all I do is PK newbies and watch the death threats come in. :D :D

@Sailor Saturn:
Very true indeed. There's Space Invader-clone game on my graphing calculator, kept me busy for six hours while working in my uncle's office.

a) Yes, I'm serious, mainly RPGs and strategy titles, and b) I'm not going to say. Because then, if you have back issues, you can go and track my reallife name down. :D ;)

Okay, just a few questions. Were you a member of the staff, or jsut guest writer, and if so, what was Ed really like?

Also, Why'd you(they) kill off Hector!

I was a freelancer. I've been offered editorial jobs twice on the West Coast, but I've no desire to move to the pollution capitol of the USA, Los Angeles; not to mention that since marriage, my wife's job--which is stationary--has made freelancing more attractive, as it means I can work long distance. So I'm afraid I can't answer your questions concerning internal matters, there. :)
