I had cable and ran into a strange thing with it. At first it was fast..way fast, but over time..(four months after getting it) it started to slow down...it got where I could take a dial-up and connect (56k) faster.Originally posted by fable
You'll love it.
3. Bought new phone jack to try to get my connection speed up to at least 48,000 bps (Plagued with strange connection speeds..36,666 to 46,666 Bps most of the time)
No opportunity to get cable in your area?
I believe Waverly told me it was because of the amount of people using it. Last month they sent me a "promise" if I would try it again it would work as it should.
Now I run into..should I or shouldn't I. My ISP dial up is paid up for 12 months..(Money I would gladly lose to have a reliable cable connection)... now it's just a decision..yea or nay.
(On another note...I believe it was you who was talking about the transfer rate of cable and to find out if it was a certain rating/speed? Any idea what I need to ask?)
