I had cable and ran into a strange thing with it. At first it was fast..way fast, but over time..(four months after getting it) it started to slow down...it got where I could take a dial-up and connect (56k) faster.

I believe Waverly told me it was because of the amount of people using it. Last month they sent me a "promise" if I would try it again it would work as it should.

Now I run into..should I or shouldn't I. My ISP dial up is paid up for 12 months..(Money I would gladly lose to have a reliable cable connection)... now it's just a decision..yea or nay.


(On another note...I believe it was you who was talking about the transfer rate of cable and to find out if it was a certain rating/speed? Any idea what I need to ask?)

No, it's not. It keeps saying it has to be 50 by 50 dimensions or something. Oh, I don't know.

Yes - your avatar has to be 50*50 pixels or smaller. If it's larger than that, you have to shrink it somehow. I did it in Paint Shop Pro, of which I got a demo off some free CD. More suggestions can, I believe, be found in the Avatar Envy thread, once you've ploughed through the spam

EDIT: Oh hell it's not there, so don't bother looking. Oh well, serves me right for trying to be helpful

Yeah. Ask them for the upload/download transfer rate. They should give you a pair of numbers. Ask them what radius that number applies in. Some unscrupulous firms will quote you the figure for a one-mile radius from their location.

~Can think of a way to get cut down spam in forums.~ Has anyone created a topic just for spam before? That might cut down spam a lot from these forums.
