Without stealth I would bet on a dwarven Barbarian. But it is hard to get enough money in the first day for the necessary equipment (I keep trying).
BTW: I have two questions. Are warriors not allowed to use the green protection scrolls? Are monks allowed to use wands?

I cannot answer the question about monks, but warriors can use protection scrolls, as well as scrolls of restoration. The only condition is enough intelligence (should be more than 9, I believe. All but wizard slayer can resolve this problem by using potions).

As for WS being the hardest... I do not know, but it is quite possible. Health *is the problem in the first dungeon. Just the three traps that you *must trip is enough to kill him. The last battle was also a nightmare for me. I accept that without Vhailor's helm, Ras (which alone puts you out of competition), Vorpal, and getting 3 strength points at Hell I would not have made it at all. Maybe if you play half-orc you will have better chances.

Thanks for the tips. I have tried the wizard slayer once, with a lot of frustration so I don't think I would go with it in speed solo. :)

Yes Monks can use wands...and several of those wands are very, very useful. Not having that Wand of Cloudkill would have made things much harder for my speed monk.

@Kovi: Any luck with the Beastmaster speed solo? I'll be surprised if you can do it in 9d 19h...not sure I would even try.

If you do, I'll have to though :D

I have lost interest. Actually I was played it like an archer. Probably would have been able to finish within 9 day 23 hour.

Yeah, could get frustrating I think. I don't know though...if you can get out of Athkala in time for the first boat with at least a +3 weapon I would think you could do it in time. Assuming you could get the cash I guess that would mean using the Staff of Rynn since that would also enable you to get the Ring of Gaxx. However with Staff and Leather armor you will have a lousy AC. I can see why you were going the archer route, but think you might get stuck at Dace (who requires +3 weapons).

As always with non-thief speed solos, money will be a problem. The monk sort of bypassed that in not needing much in the way of equipment.

I think a 10 day, 19 hour time should be attainable, taking an extra day in Athkala to get equipped before heading out.
