The Shadowed Legacy -- Discussion Thread

@Karma: Oh, so you've done of one of these before?
Yeah, on Black Ilse's boards I was in a few, but I had to drop out due to time constrictions (basketball season, both on TV and at school). They were just a bit too fast paced. It seems like this one will be slower, more thoughtful, and generally more rich in detail, so I should be able to keep up.

Or a draw, perhaps.
@all: I'll see if I can get a post in today or tomorrow, but I have an exam tomorrow (and a paper due), so I can't make any guarantees. Regardless, I should be free Friday. The story's kind of waiting on me at this point, so I apologize.

Lost Souls: A bereft lover. A masterless familiar. Friends gone their separate ways. Time marches on, and destiny heralds the meeting of comrades old and new. Can they find what they're seeking? Or will the search bring them only more pain?
You're character is funny
@Arcane
No offense meant, I've been asked this before, english in't your first language is it? Well I'll help you if it isn't, it looks like you need help on speech marks, it was either you or durwyn that accidently missed them out in the last adventure once...
The lone halfling trudged across the path, looking for something.
"Com' un Gooch!" cried the gnome to the human standing in shadows, "Thi' haffar's got sumfin' 'bout him.”
“Don' be'r so shure." muttered Gooch to his partner, La.
"Com' un! Wha'rs the mattah wiv ya?” Said La anxious not to disturb the uncanny halfling
“It’s just a haffar!" Gooch muttered.
The two stepped out onto the road and Yllidan wheeled. His Halfling Staff came into view. He *did* have something about him. An aura of command perhaps, he looked fierce indeed as he stood. Gooch walked calmly at him and was brought to his knees in revelation as a Daze spell knocked him to his knees. La charged, his mace held high. A bolt of frost, icy cold, hit La in the stomach, followed closely by missiles of energy.
La fell to the ground, dead. Gooch followed soon enough, his skull cracked open by a Halfling’s Staff.

Yllidan stepped into the Green Griffon inn, he soon became the point of suspicion. How did halflings ever become sorcerers? A dazed looking elf, no *half*-elf, sat drinking glass after glass. The bartender was nowhere in sight. The patrons were removed from the half-elf, who seemed to be ignoring a drunk sitting next to him. Yllidan looked about and saw several figures approaching the door. He looked for a spot to hide and watch and found it under the table near the stairs.
He had no doubt of his abilities as a sorcerer but he won't use his powers unless he himself is brought into the fight.
I'm not going to change any more as that might not have been the intent, plus I'm no wizard(or sorcerer) with spelling grammar and tense(Something I think might be missing). No offense meant.

Err craig...this is the DISCUSSION thread. D-I-C-U-S-I-O-N. If you want this post to happen, please put it in the story thread.
BTW, are you suggesting that English isn't Aegis's first language?! I don't know about that...

@craig: Ah, I see. I just skimmed that part of your post, so I didn't realize it had already been posted.
I think I know what you're talking about, though. Let me dredge up an old post from the Northern Shadows Discussion Thread...

So Arcane wasn't the perpetrator. Anyway, we haven't had as much of a problem with quotes in this story (so far), but we could all benefit from the "new paragraph when speaker changes" rule. It's easier to keep track of who says what that way.Originally posted by Magus
@Durwyn: Could you please use quotation marks when people are speaking? It makes it so much easier to read. Also, it's customary to start a new paragraph when the speaker changes.
Ex:
Saeril said, "No, I've never heard anything like it. Are you sure its real?"
"Two warriors, Anduin and Kilden I think, saw the bodies, hanging from the trees," said Durn.

i wont be able to post frequently either (maybe twice or thrice a normal week, 4 times during the weekend at the most). what better choice than to hang around a similar person?

"We thank God, the all powerful and all forgiving, for putting death at the end of life and not in the beginning..."
Yes, but that sort've ruins my character's whole point. Besides, as I had said earlier, I've come into some free time, thus won't be as in-an-out as I originally thought. But, until I get enough free time, Heresh is on his own. Besides, you still wouldn't have been able to keep up with himOriginally posted by Arcane

Rob-hin I don't think my character would be very pleased when he realises what at best could be a bard, worst a theif, is a monk!
I'm not sure what to make of this.
Why? Because of the different gods?
Or are you just kidding?
I'm confused...
Care to elaborate?
Guinness is good for you.
Gives you strength.

In clarification of my post, the "cruel-looking man" is a cleric of Mask.

@Craig: Only one of the spellcasters is a cleric of Mask. The other is (presumably) a wizard or a sorcerer. And the group started spread out across the room, so the (dead) archer and the two spellcasters are nowhere near each other.
