Just find your way to Bodhi's lair, and you'll find him... That confused me a bit, I was sort of expecting to meet him in the graveyard.

Now this is interesting. I never got this dialogue. Wish I had; it would have made things move a bit more slowly. As it was I got the flower thing, and then the very next time we rested I got the "lie with me" dialogue. Talk about fast, I was kind of shocked actually. I mean, this guy is akin to a paladin, right? ;) And yes, it was quite direct, you'd know it if you saw it. Now, this is the second time I've played through ch.6 (started a new game midway through my last one), and the first time I didn't get EITHER dialogue that we're discussing. I just got the flower thing and then the "commitment" speech ("let us struggle to remain together" etc....). Hmmm...

fascinating, I never got the "let us lie together line." Yet, as I think I mentioned, Bodhi vamped him on the spot, so I can only assume that things are still active. I'm intrigued at what will happen when I restore him.
Clearly Anomen's romance contains as many variables as does Jaheira's, I'd love to know what they are. From what I gather, it does not have anything to do with alignment, otherwise I'd be wondering (I'm true neutral). It could have something to do with the ring of charisma. Since I'm playing a fighter/mage, the human influence ring came off as soon as I obtained both rings of wizardry.
Maybe in my case there was a timing glitch. Perhaps I encountered the dead father messenger before the sex thing came up.

And you're right, he does seem awfully fast for a self-rightious type. I guess it goes to show that even the holier than thou sorts have hormones.

dragon wench -- I don't think the ring has anything to do with it? I don't think either of us was wearing it, I think I gave it to Jaheira or someone...Perhaps timing, as you mentioned...I wonder if class has anything to do with it? I'm playing Undead Hunter, so since the PC and Anomen are kind of the same (that Radiant Heart thing, you know) perhaps the romance moves faster??? I'll have to play a kensai next time...or try the ring ;)

Perhaps one can get EITHER the 1st reciprocated feelings dialogue (the one you mentioned, that I never got) OR the consummation dialogue, but not both???...

Geez, I'm almost tempted to start ANOTHER new game just to check all this out...

Well that was a let down. I just rescued Anomen from the clutches of vampirism, and while he was certainly grateful and again stated that he'd never leave again, the conversation seemed oddly stilted. I jotted the entire thing down, and I can post it if anyone is interested.sigh :(

It is a letdown, isn't it?...I was very surprised last time I played that event. I mean, having just been saved from eternal destruction and all...

i'm in chapter six and i still did not get the whole 'father dead' scenario. i'm getting miffed

i stayed as long as possible in chapter 2 & 3, left for the island as 14 lvl kensai.
is it still possible to get the senario after imerging from the underdark?

I get the sense that any of the Anomen related quests have to occur before the Underdark. Although, I'm not sure. Since the Jaheira romance most appears to ressemble Anomen's maybe those that have played that one out can offer some insight into the importance of the Underdark.
I'm also beginning to think that the Anomen romance can be quite buggy, but since less people have experienced it, little has been done to try and correct the problems. Or maybe we're all just doing something wrong, who knows.
Maybe try quick saving and going off to see if Anomen's father is still there, or maybe head into Saerk's mansion???? Although you've probably already tried this.

jennabard -- how many days did you spend in chs. 2&3? I think there may be something weird with game time/real time??

I do know that if you're in a dungeon, the messenger won't show up. You have to be outside somewhere. But as far as continuing after Underdark, I have no idea.

Ok,

Firstly, I am a fighter/mage, true neutral, with 10 charisma. And got all the dialogue, so draw whatever conclusions you will from that...
It would be interesting if alignment affected it... You wouldn't expect a paladin to go for someone evil.

Secondly, I may very well go and investigate all this. (If only it didn't mean having to do the first dungeon... boring...)

Thirdly, it would be mean if the dead father messenger appeared in the middle of a dungeon, since Anomen would immediately rush off to kill Saerk.

@DW - yeah, that dialogue after you save him is a little lacklustre, isn't it?

@Jennabard - what was the last romance script you got before you went to the Underdark?

Unless he is prevented from doing so due to being in another plane at the time. I once got the initiation of the dead father message ("Wait, one approaches...") while in the Planar Sphere of all places. Of course, nothing at all happened when I hit Continue...It occurred once after that and when we finally exited the Sphere there was no messenger to be found. Dad was still alive at home. Can't say what happened after that because I started a new game...weird...

Georgi, we have almost exactly the same character, except that mine has a 11 charisma.
Very weird stuff about A.

spent about 37 days on chapter 2 & 3.

the last script was when he was first proclaiming his love for me before i got laid.

funny, i think my game reset itself because i had viconia, keldorn and jan; and they repeated their convesations. i guess i'll continue on

@Jennabard - maybe there is a bug like the Jaheira looping conversation one??

Did you drop Anomen from your party at any point (including getting petrified, but not dying and being resurrected)? That, I think, will disrupt the romance.

Was that one conversation or two? Because I have a feeling I missed a dialogue somewhere between the flower dialogue and the consummation dialogue...and I've played the romance through twice. I just thought he was a fast mover ;) ...maybe I missed something...could it be a class thing I wonder?...

I think it's possible that class is a factor (now there's a thesis ;) ) Although everything I've read on the subject states that class and alignment have no bearing on the romances. Even so, my fighter/mage (true neutral) never even got the "let's lie together" line, just the flower, and then a little later, "I need to know your feelings," at which point the game automatically rested. That was a bit confusing.

Hmmm...now I REALLY want to start a new game, perhaps as a different class and alignment, just to check all this out...

must...finish...current...game!!! must...

Phew! And I thought I was the only one to keep on restarting! I'm trying to convince myself that it's an intellectual exercise driven by curiosity. But, in reality I just don't want it to end. I mean what else would there be to encourage procrastination on my thesis :D . Well actually, since the city I need to do research in is in the throes of a protracted bus strike......

Precisely :)

Come to think of it, however, perhaps class/alignment have nothing to do with it...maybe I've been resting too soon after the flower dialogue. The "I need to know your feelings" line -- that's not the same as the "death is waiting around every corner, all I ask is that we struggle to remain together" thing, is it?? Because in that one he also asks "if you cannot see this for us, tell me now..."

Next time I won't rest so soon, and see what develops. I WILL DRIVE THEM ALL INTO THE GROUND!!!!!!!!!!

Jaheira from BGI: "I've seen just about enough waking hours, slave-driver!"

From what I recall (and yes, I have started a new game, hopefully won't take too long to get to all this!), there are two scripts triggered by resting (probably outside).
The first one is the "let us lie together" one.
The second is the "what about the future" one, which I think happens the next time you rest after sleeping with him.
