point taken, but a berzerker/cleric can only use 3 weapons if he wants to use dualwield, as he cant use ranged weapons

Flail, mace, warhammer. and can get 4+ in 2 of these, should do it, as well as 3 in 2handed. For me staff or the other 2handed isnt an option, as dualwield is much better, especially with the crom fayer. " eapons is enough.

Dunno this, can rangers have 3+ in dualwield?

As i stated before, seems the ranger is a little more defensive, being able to use ranged weapons.

Actually, BioWare made a little mistake. Rangers (with swashbucklers and blades) should have been the only class to be able to have 3 slots in 2 weapon style. Fighters should have maxed out at 2. Two weapon style was designed for rangers.

Shouldnt a fighter be a master-at-arms and deserve 3 slots? Maybe they changed it to make it balanced then. But rangers can have 3, as can fighters then?

No... How many times do I have to repeat it? Image
Rangers were designed to excel at dual wielding. Not the regular fighter. So for a change, another class could have more slots spent in a certain style than the fighter could. Rangers train to for perfect ambidexterity, it's what they do. Take Drizzt for example, he's a ranger, he uses 2 scimitars. Why do you think rangers start off with the 2 slots bonus in 2 weapon style?

ok. But they took away grand mastery extra attack, maybe they make up for that with giving fighters the last slot in 2handed

I suppose you mean 2 weapon.
No, coz that still wouldn't be fair. The extra attack thing was just a bug.

No, 5 slots was supposed to give 1/2 extra attack per round, but was changed in BG2 since it made the game unbalanced. I rather have that extra attack than 2 weapon style though

perhaps we should add this to the discussion?

what level would it be wise to dual from?

i would say lvl 13, because you get another half attack there..and im not thinking of the cap, since ToB will let us race ahead...but what im concerned over, is if you miss any special attacks for figthers..they said that the first level you aquire in tob, most likely 3000000 xp..a selection window would pop up where you could choose a skill...most notable the whirlwind attack for figthers..and later the greater whirlwind, which would set your attacks to 10 and do a lot of nasty things to the critters youre facing..so perhaps sole classes have merit to be played to high levels..and then dualed to priest or mage to attain maximum benefit..but then again you have to take in consideration that ToB will bring an xp cap of 8000000 with ALL classes maxing at that...with thieves gaining levels the fastest..but having a huge stretch to cover, for to jump to 40 from 39...so no level cap like in How where level 30/30/30 multi classes was possible, or 29/30 duals.

ill say, stick with pure classes until you have the info from tob so you properly can prepare..a good pick is the undead slayer..he got the hard to find negative plane protection..and with crom faeyr and shield of harmony, ring of gaxx and ring of free action he is pretty imune to everything...i know some of you will say he have hold imunity, but it doesnt cover stun, which ring of free action protects again, high level mages love symbol stun, power word stun

No I won't wait until I get to know the skills in ToB, I think I'll just use my ranger/cleric I have now. The one with 22 WIS, the spellcaster beast! Image Image

All i will do is getting maximum possible level with fighter without losing any cleric level, except one that one always looses for having level 9 berzerker. He is a cleric, with fighter background after all.
