I'm going to experiment with the Boots of Blinding Speed and see how well they work to get me around Vivec. If Night Eye can get me past the blinding affect, that might work. I'll have a spell maker make me a long-duration Night Eye spell or I'll enchant a ring.....
In the mean time, I have found that my Amulet of Slowfall will let me get from the top of one pyramid to the bottom of another without having to circle around and around.
@BS: Yeah, Creeper is my current main guy but it is annoying when he won't buy the really heavy things that I've managed to lug up to him! (Like the 3 tons of raw ebony that I found last night!)
It has been my experience that Night-Eye won't negate the effects of the Boots of Lightning Speed at all. I had an enchanter make me an amulet which granted 100% Magicka Resistance for 5 seconds for equipping the boots. These boots, combined with a constant-effect levitation item, are a must-have for getting around as a vampire.
In Vivec, if you just walk, and not jump, off one level to the next, you take no damage.
Creeper doesn't buy alchemy ingredients, but he sure buys Skooma!

I always thought your _walking_ speed had nothing to do with the _leviate_ speed.

Well, now he has a big pile of raw ebony sitting in the middle of his floor. I hope he's happy!

I fell down two levels once and knocked myself silly! I'll try it one level at a time next time.

Speed attribute definitely affects levitation speed.

Netch Rodeo
Well, I tried to ride a Bull Netch.
I was leading that woman to the Ghostgate shrine, and we had made it to Ghostgate without her irritating me too much. But inside, I had no idea where her shrine might be. I did the logical thing and asked one of the guyed in the Dawn Tower, who mentioned that there was a shrine to the west of the gate along a path. So I and this woman wandered in thet area for quite awhile, being attacked by just about everything. She kept dying, and I kept re-loading, until finally she died and I accidentally hit "quicksave" instead of "reload"

So, I had lost her, and I never found her darn shrine!
As I left Ghostgate, there was a big old netch just sitting there, so I thought it would be about time to levitate up and ride the sucker. I got up just fine, but was attacked by a Cliff Racer while hovering above the netch. When the levitate wore off, I was busy fighting off the Racer, and I landed on the Netch and slid right off! On the ground, I let the Netch kill me.
Has anyone actually ridden one of those things?
Oh, and while I'm asking questions, has anyone ever tried to kill a silt strider? I'm going to try that next.

I don't think you can kill a silt strider. I tried to but I coudn't even hit it with my weapon. Maybe you can do something to it with magic, though.

Well, you learn something new every day! Where did you encounter this woman looking for the Ghostgate shrine? BTW, the shrine is through the gate in the Red Mountain area. Go up the path a little ways, and look for a path branching off to the right. The shrine is at the end of this path.

You pick her up just outside Ald'ruhn. She's a wealthy, perhaps noble woman on a pilgramage. She's impatient and irritating buy sufferable long as you don't talk to her and head right to the shrine without delays. For that matter she's not any worse than the pilgram you escort from Maar Gan to Koal Cave. When you complete escorting her she gives you a paltry fee for your work. Its best not to accecpt these quests until you know your way around and can adequately protect the pilgram. A good bow and high markman skill rating makes these quests a snap. What makes these difficult, besides not knowing where you're going, is not having a ranged attack. The pilgram will get in a hand-to-hand fight with creatures and gets in the way of your melee attack. You often end up hurting the pilgram by accident. It also helps to have the Heal Others spell so you can keep them alive.

Is there any mod to add bridges on the upper level of cantons? I had enough of running to the lower level, and going around a few cantons, then running up to the upper level again. I could have created the mod myself, but I failed.

LOL @ Minerva, not as far as I know. I find levitation works well though

Or Mark and recall

Well, I've marked in the Telvanni Council place, so no Mark & Recall in Vivec.

I know I should exercise often, but it's too annoying running around the concrete buildings. And the air from the canal is too bad in Vivec. It stinks!

Heh, I thought of another question: Is it useful to enchant bows? I love my daedric longbow, and I have plenty of souls now to use. I thought about putting a little extra damage on it as a 'on strike' enchantment - maybe some frost damage or absorb health. But then I thought, its not really the bow that hits anything, its the arrows. So such an enchantment wouldn't do anything for me, would it?

I thought of the same.

I think the realistic enchantments on the bow are either Cast On spells (something like shield, sanctually or absorb magicka, maybe) or constant effect to enhance your skill or attribute (like fortify agility or strength for higher damage), IF the bow can hold that much enchant points.

Thanks, Minerva. That confirms my thoughts. I suspect the bow only gets about 4 enchantment points anyway, which won't be enough for anything good, like a CE effect. I'll stick to amulets, I guess.

I found Daedric Longbow can hold 10.5 enchant points (I don't know where .5 came from

). I haven't played the game for some time, so I can't remember what you can do with 10.5.

Soul Trap on Strike, perhaps?

How about Fortify Marksman, Restore Health, etc?

In the same vein I would sugget a CE fortify agility as fortify marksman is not likely to present itself. Even one CE restore health is a nice to have item.
