I have spoken with several SYMers, and in one case even got to know their whole family... yet have never met a single one. No doubt they are being protected by divine intervention.

Actually, I think it is a rather unique and appealing experience experience to meet someone through writing. There is a whole dimension you can access that is less available when meeting in person. Talking on the phone is more like meeting in person, since more social conventions come into play, but it is great fun to do so after you have established a relationship. Sort of like seeing something in black and white and then going to color (or colour, as DW would say )

As to the whole phone sex thing, I appauld Sleepy and Buck for coming up with a whole new funraising idea for SYM. I can't wait till they set up the archives.
