You know you can't trust someone who walks around in public in a bathrobe. And most mages are shut-ins who rarely get a whiff of fresh air. And what about that funk? Old man smell mixed with B.O., fecal extract, and formaldehyde. That's just disgusting.

Costly your words can be when you underestimate thy opponent. If you embrace shadows, are nothing more than a shadow when perceived by the eye than I controll and have created you. So its more than mere shadows but a hollowness you can only fill by hiding from your enemies. I as a mage face more of my opponents than a backstabber like you. If I didn't I couldn't watch them grovel at my power. So I shall repeat next time you step into a shadow you could be stepping into me.

Bravo!You sit in your study, surrounded my tomes, ingredients, components, and tools used in the foul art. Surrounded by shadow. You study ways to apply magic toward the destruction of natural matter, summoning beasts not meant for this plane, and the enslavement of free minds.
I sit in the shadow and watch.
You summon your abominations. You enslave them to your will. You practive your destruction. You read your lecherous tomes. You take the minds of innocent adolescents and turn them into power-hungry egotists willing to sacrifice others all for the sake of what? Magic?!?
I watch from the shadows. I learn your routines and habits. I see your flaws. I am patient.
When I step from the shadows, you die! No glory. You fall face first into the dust and candles and arcane symbols you have prepared. Your body twitches painfully from the poison even as the life-blood eagerly exits your magic-corrupted body like slaves leaving a broken prison camp.
I do not do this for glory. I am not a shadow thief or guild member. I do this to protect the freedom of better souls than your own. I do this to avenge past wrongs.

Ah but are you so sure we do not fight for the same cause to save souls from the foul clutches of evil. You mistake me I summon no such evil beings to this plane. I only use the power that is given not taken. I kill the thieves that prey on the innocent and crush them so they can suffer a fate to be used in my spells. But be sure that you are striking me when you thrust your dagger for if its not you shall suffer a wicked death. By my hand and my hand alone
Can you really beleive that by killing the evil souls that you can make up for past wrongs? Walk the path you have chosen in life and embrace it. Do not turn your back on it for it surely will catch you again.
