Hm. Adamantium always showed up as heavy armor in my game. Weird. Or maybe I'm thinking of something else.

Either way, I looked it up, and Stahlrim is, in fact, the best medium armor. It goes from Stahlrim to Royal Guard to Indoril, and then down from there.

As for the ebony closed helm, I don't see how you can't like it. It looks badass to me. Makes me feel mysterious.

"Who's that bad dude in the Ebony closed helm?"

"That's Blitzkrieg. He's level 310."

"Ooh. I'm not gonna go after that. Let's go beat on some mudcrabs."

"Word."

I prefer the way my character looks without a helm. I tend to base which armour I wear entirely on how I want to look lol as the game is not that hard anyway so you don't really need super powerful armour.

I prefer the way my characters look without armour at all! And with the Dodge mod you don;t really need armour at all. ;)

According to the CS:

Medium Armours:
Adamantium - 133
Snow Bear - 116
Ice Armour - 166
Royal Guard - 166 (In game it is 183, IIRC)
Indoril - 150
Orc - 100

Ebony - 200
Glass - 166
Daedric - 266
Dark Brotherhood - 100
Dwemer - 66
Dreugh - 116
Her Hand Armour (Heavy) - 233

The armour rating is calculated by multiplying the CS Rating by 3.33

The CS rating of all ice armour is 50. The CS rating of all royal guard armour, with the exception of the boots (50) and greaves (40), is 55.

Out of curiosity, what does IIRC mean?

I see the term pop up a lot and no one ever elaborates.

Also, as for the "dodge mod", I don't use mods. It's a moral thing.

And no, I don't need armor either. I have over three thousand hit points, but I just like the way it looks.

IIRC - If I recall correctly.

If you don't need armour, why comment in a thread about armour, and argue with the outcomes...

And btw, your signature is wrong :p

So using mods is immoral?

Meh. I'm not arguing, I'm just proving a point.

As for using mods, it's a matter of opinion. Ifind it immoral, but most don't. It's about personal preference.

Not to take this thread too far off topic... but why on earth would using mods be immoral?

Besthesda would not have supplied the construction set with the game if they hadn't wanted people to experiment and create mods.

I can understand that some mods can be considered on a par with cheating but that still isn't a moral issue. In fact most mods are not cheating at all and actually add new areas or enhance the game play, thus making the game even more enjoyable and replayable. Like dragon wench said, Bethesda wanted people to make mods, just like Bioware wanted people to make new quests/stories in NWN.

I'm new to the game but I really like Glass armour due to it's weight and armour, the only problem is that it doesn't enchant very well.

I've only worn glass briefly on my first character before I decided to change characters - doesn't it get damaged easier too so it needs repairing more often (at least it seemed like it did to me). Its nice armour though and looks good :)

Immoral wasn't the term I was looking for, I reckon.

What I'm trying to say is it's against what I personally believe is right and ethical. I don't know what the term for that would be. Apparently, immoral was off the mark.

I don't know what the best armour is, and frankly I don't care. As long as it looks good, I'm going to wear it.

Okay, fair enough... but I'm still not understanding why mods are neither right nor ethical....
As I said... the game makers included the construction set to be used for precisely that reason. Sure, some mods are blatant cheats, but most of us here who use mods do so to improve game graphics, provide more attractive armour choice (especially female armours) or even make the game more difficult....
I'm a bit perplexed as to what is so wrong about this..
Please explain :)

Moral and ethical both look like poor choises of words. At least the way I understant these words, if someone describes mods as immoral and unethical they also indirectly describe the users of the mods, and I doubt that's what you meant. It's perfectly ok to not like mods of course, but you should perhaps word it differently in the future to avoid unnecessary discussions like this :D

On the subject of armors, I'm with those who chose armors for their looks. I rarely use the armors that came with the game anymore, though; there are far too many shiny, pretty modded armors :D

Of the original armors, for some reason I like the Dwemer armor and the Nordic Fur armor the best, but without the helmets. I never use helmets and the closed ebony helmet mentioned before must be the one I like the least. I always thought it looked like an upside down flowerpot :speech:

lmao! :D I always thought that ebony armours made the player character look like an overgrown bumblebee :p

Okay, for vanilla, in-game armours I like to combine the Dark Brotherhood with Daedric. I think that Glass Armour looks like it was made from Alien greenhouse panels :D
I also don't mind the Her Hands armour from Tribunal, and the Snow Wolf/Snow Bear stuff is alright too.

I almost never use helms myself, thogh I can tolerate the Helm or Oreyn Bearclaw.

As far as modded armours, I generally like Canadian Ice's light stuff from the Metal Queen Boutique. Although I wish the bust was less pronounced, I always end up thinking that my character is about to topple over

I really don't think there's much to explain about it. It's just my personal preference to not use mods. I didn't directly insult anyone, I believe, and if you got offended then perhaps you should lighten up.

I have nothing against mods, modders, or the like. It's just not my thing. It makes me feel...dirty. Like I'm ruining the innocent purity of the game somehow.
