There isn't anything i can say what hasn't been said before, but i have to agree with following points (in random order):
Quests become longer and harder more you evolve in game. 6+ hrs รก quest would be good enough. Of course World save and resupply points every now and then a must.
Bigger fights. E.G: War of sort. It could start off by you Drafting ppl and Defending certain place/area and later you could attact the offenders. Option for armistice, negotiations for peace included of course.
Aging mechanics. They could use 'trigger point' Quests for this. Or after completing certain ammount of quest would bring aging effects.
New weapons. Staffs, morningstars(my personal favourite), ability to use dual weapons (could be accuired when spending exp. if wanted. More level up's, ability to use heavier weapons), shiled option
More basic skills. jumping, crawling, swimming etc etc...
more complex interaction with surroundings and NPC's
Those are the most important things in my humble opinion. Rest are just cream on the cake.
*Sorry if my english is more like engrish. I'm a savage finn*

Yeah i agree with everyone who has said you should have staffs or a javelin or something... it would be cool if certain weapons have you block differently and not neccasairily do rolls to evade. It would be awesome if the was another part which was called The lost prolouge Where you play as Scarlet Robe or the Guild Master, you know a genration (or two) before the original Fable.

Some ideas of mine:
(Sorry if someone said any of these ideas, but honestly I don't have the time to go through the whole thread to see)
-Color dye for your hair
-Difficulty levels; where the higher the difficulty, the more organized the enemy is; them trying to ambush you, flank you, or just raise their stats, armor, and weapons ect.
-More armor (obviously), and more variation of looks of armor
-Spears
-Medium weapons (would be everything that is a light weapon now in Fable), and add short swords, kukris, handaxes, etc into light weapon category
-Implement shields and two weapon fighting
-Mabye there could be a way to be bitten by a balverine tied into a quest(or the main quest), and you could be turned into one and wreak havoc as one
-Staves for spell users with more augmentation slots than other weapons
-Some form of mounting ability
-Maybe have desert based areas with sand monsters, and tombs and such

Just a couple ideas:
-Learn spells from books/scrolls. It would be kind of nice to have a few spells that you can only learn from a book or scroll that are not available for purchase with experience points.
-Spells with cutscenes. Personally, seeing a few spells from a viewpoint other than 1 foot behind your head would be a welcome change.
-Epic battles. By 'epic' I mean "Lord of the Rings" or "Chronicles of Narnia" scale with large forces battling to the end. This of course is dependent on the capabilities of the engine and of the Xbox-360 itself.
-Magic Staffs. I know everyone has alread said it but I'll say it too, staffs rock!
-Transformations. Being able to transform yourself into a demon warrior or a holy paladin when fighting those truly difficult battles would be a nice touch. The whole idea of being able to become a balverine goes along with this too.
-Cities. Just think of Rome from the movie "Gladiator" and you'll know what I'm talking about.

Well, I've been playing Fable for awhile and I've been creating all these ideas and holding them in my head, finally I made a thread at the Lionhead Studios board and well....This is the compilation of my work, granted it is long, granted some of the ideas are repeatitive. I hope you all enjoy reading them as much as I enjoyed making them.
Just so you all know, I'm gonna HAFTA double-post, actually, more like quadruple post, because there's a word limit.....Soooo....
~~~***THE IDEAS BEGIN HERE***~~~
-I've recently seen a pic here of a brothel, excellent idea, if it is bogus, then put it in Fable II, of course we could see it affecting one's alignment modifer.
-Some clothes that don't really have any combat practicality, some robes....Ceremony clothes, maybe a crown, that'd be neat.
-I'm taking this from another idea, one said it was rumored that in Fable: TLC that one could own their own Guild....That is a bit excessive, but maybe one could privately train some students or even work their way up to becoming a GuildMaster as....Well, the GuildMaster is, or maybe a mentor with some statues, as is Maze.
-Now, I love the idea of having homes, that is a brilliant idea, but let's bump that up a knotch......How about a castle, heck, how about making that plural, castles.....Maybe some require buying....Or killing the Lord of the castle....Possibly, marrying a widowing Queen....These castles would be hugely elaborate, not like the rather disappointing Grey Manor of Bowerstone North. One would have a large throne which he could seat himself in and put on his crown and just sit there, idly, feeling mighty.
-I know this steps a bit out of the way of Fable, but how about adding some flintlock-like muskets or small firearms...That is merely an idea I'm throwing in.
-Another idea would be, daggers.....Small weapons that could be smuggled into....Oh, let's say, Bowerstone...Or the no-weapons-allowed equivalent of it in Fable II....This may even add a new stealth aspect to the game with an almost GTA-ish...Move behind 'em and slit their throat type of thing....But for the love of God...Don't take a good "Run up and kill 'em" game like Fable and turn it into a "Okay.....See that guy there.....Forget him...Get in this dirty crawlspace and move around him over here) game like, Spinter Cell.
-This is another idea that would add a big feature to Fable, but may compromise its uniqueness. Add some factions.....Which base themselves out of Forts and Castles, etc....Which you could even control..And have them war against eachother using Guards, Bandits, professional soldiers, etc.....Depending on that factions own alignment.
-I think it would be neat to become....Chief of Knothole Glade, Mayor of Bowerstone, or the Bandit King...Each would bring new responsibilities, restrictions, and neat side-stuff once you get the renown and love of the people for it......You could get a salary for it...But you would have to do things that would insure the town's survival and dominance over others so you would keep your job....These things I'll leave to the creators of the game, I'm drawing a blank in this department.
-This is a repeatitive one, how about some boats? Take a ride on a boat to maybe some small islands....Fish as the ferry-boat takes you to your destination.....Maybe get your own tiny lil' vessel as a nobody.....Or get a powerful galleon once you reach prominence...Or even a pirate ship...These could be your own little floating dwellings....Maybe ***** them out to running deliveries or pirating for some quick cash.
by Tony Carmonte
-This is a personal request, add the following....A dark hooded robe with a scythe..Get the Grim Reaper thing going.
-Though, I do love some of the crammed areas and small, "go from here to here to get to here" paths.....Maybe there could be some lengthy paths in which one could use....A horse, carriage, donkey, mythical creature, etc.
-Make stealing stuff a bit easier....I mean, having to get a shop owner drunk and then lead him out of his store and then letting him wander around aimlessly is a bit...Stretched..Just to rob....It takes out the...Stealth and criminality of it.....I'd like to see some night-burgling without setting off an alarm which magically brings Guards.
-I know this sounds like a GTA ripoff...But what about getting hungry? I wouldn't want it to become a burden...Maybe have it were it cuts off each time you go on a Quest....But with that...Add new foods....It would show the difference between a crappy young hero...And a majestic old legend.....You would eat leftover scraps from the Tavern.....Or have royal feasts in your Castle (Earlier idea) where you may even meet a preeeeetty giiiiiirl.
-I wanna have kids, simple as that....'GIMME SOME OFFSPRING!...Let me watch them grow before my eyes....Let me shower them with gifts.
-Seasonal changes.....But don't have it being Spring three times in one hour.....Maybe have the seasons change in a quarter of the time they do in real life.....Maybe that is a bit extreme but I said that so I could say the next idea which seems a bit naked without the above.
-Holidays....At a Christmas-ish holiday you could get a gift from the gal...Or guy...That likes you, or from good friends.
-Miscellanous buildings....I wanna see some churches, more than one school, Chieftan dwellings, etcs....I don't wanna see a Bowerstone stone house and then a tent followed by a Knothole Glade cabin....But I do wanna see some building diversity.
-When stealing from a cabinent....Let's see the Hero open the cabinent....Or shuffle through the bookcase.
-Have you decided to give me castles in Fable II yet?....First, I wanna see a big elaborate castle or two....With rooms that have no practical purpose other than to hold furniture....And then I wanna be able to call it my own...SO BAD!
-Pickpocketing, good new alignment ability...Make small amounts of cash, faaaaast and with style.
-With the addition of foods, as shown above.....You could hire cooks for your castle/home to make grand meals....Or when you're a young newly-wed...Maybe your loving wife will make breakfast.
-And on that note.....Would you really wanna leave your Castle defenseless? Hire some Guards that would protect you from....Assassins...Hordes of Bandits...Some wild beasts...Guards coming to pay you back for killing their friend Karl....KARL WAS JUST A WEEK FROM RETIREMENT, WHY'D YA HAFTA DO IT, HERO!?
-It's funny...Once I beat Fable......I'm either the great kind hero...Or the power hungry bad guy...Either way, I don't feel powerful...Other than getting that awesome Sword of Aeons and being the best fighter around.....But that is where it ends...I wanna feel like the Lord of Albion.....That is why I find it necessary to add these leadership positions and put in symbols of power, such as crowns, septars, and CASTLES!
-Why is it when my Hero gets fat.....He just looks bigger? I wanna see some gut hanging out from that Villager's shirt.
-And for the love of everything holy...I know people should fear me if I slaughtered their town 30,000 times....But that, "Run three steps..Scream real loud and annoyingly...Run three steps...Give that same scream...Run three steps...Scream" has gotta be improved.
-Maybe some new clothing accessories such as rings which might slightly protect from certain elemental attacks...Some bracelets, necklaces, etc.
-Animals.....Having pets....Seeing some deer run about in the wilderness.....Seeing a stray dog run through the streets of Bowerstone South......Walk through an area where you hear birds chirping...And they fly away in a flutter....And then...The chirping stops...But most importantly....Having a pet snake....Dog...Balverine....Etc......Have it be like a person....Nurture it as a pup/whatever......Scold it for peeing on your Plate Armor......Teach it to fetch.....Have it follow you..Use it to pick up the ladies....Even get it a few hairstyles, armor, and tattoos.....Use it in the battlefield (Though, not in Quests) but make the animal very weak....To where you could upgrade it for style and protection...But you couldn't rely on it to go and attack a Rock Troll.
-This may've been repeated.....I'unno...What little I've searched I've yet to find it...Ever notice how Fable...The only defenses you have is blocking....And armor....What about shields? Perfect way to accessorize my character....I just remember collecting all of Nostro The Gatekeeper's armor and stuff...And his shield..I just wanted a shield of my own so bad, thought it would look good....Of course, a shield could not be used with a two-handed sword......But don't make the player hafta unequip it....Either keep it on his back but make it unusable...Or just make it magically appear when you equip a two-handed sword....Instead of me equipping a two-handed sword and getting a message "Dude, go to Shields....Get rid of that thing and you can use this bad wamma jamma sword."
-Why is it....If I sneak up behind a Guard...No one's around...And I kill him....Other guards know about it? I mean.....I'd like to be able to kill a guard for telling me not to carry a sword without starting a ruckus.
-I'd like to see some reaction to dead bodies....Say I killed the above guard...But a villager came about and was like, "OH NO, I'M TEEEEEELLING!" Now...I don't wanna hafta hide bodies...This is Fable, not Metal Gear..But as long as the bodies are there...Before they....Fade away...Have this as an option.
-A friend, named Brothers of Creed, from another Forum gave me the following ideas.......The last few ideas on THIS post are all from him, starting with.....Now for my first idea for today possible more later tonight that when you get a castle you can hire people to manage it. Hire servants a full line of comedians or what you call them.
-How about a better AI system for the NPC's? so depending on how good or evil you are people can react to you. Like say for example you were evil and had a castle, people will be scared from rumors they heard like he experiments evil projects in there on intruders w/e.
-Being able to do side quests like raiding a supply convoy to take some goods or w/e. Being able to raid convoys should be heavily supported in Fable 2.
Just think of it late at night 3-4 caravans are returning to town after exploring the ancient ruins of items and are halfway there. It's late at night and you are in the hedges waiting for the moment to jump out and sack the caravan. Some of the gaurds jump out to fend you off the others are getting away and you kill the gaurds and quickly hop on one of the horses and make way after the other caravan.
-I'd like for people to follow me every once in awhile..I understand if I slaughtered their village they wouldn't like me...But after so many days....And if I show that I'm no longer evil...They still shouldn't be in fear....It isn't realistic enough...Just annoying.....Walking through a town with a halo and everyone screaming...When, heck.....You killed all the inhabitants last time...These people should be like, "Oh, I love my new hou-...Who's this bloak?"
-I'd like to see another Orchard farm or an equivalent.....Which you could, of course...Kill the owners.....Buy it.....Make money.
-Have another Arena...But have it were you could fight.....Joust......Box...Sword-fight.....Do a football-like game.
-Every aspiring Hero needs some extra cash...What better way than to do the following...Note: Some ideas are inspired from other games..........Mine in caves.......Fish (Without it being so darn annoying).......Laborer (See how villagers in Oakvale and Knothole Glade carry stuff from place to place.....How about you doing that for some quick cash?)......Robberies, knock out a shop owner.....Take all his gold from his....Whatever the medieval equivalent of a cash register is......Clean his shop of its supplies to resale elsewhere.
-When bribing guards....They should WALK AWAY...Not just turn around for ten seconds only to turn back and mess up my stealing of that fancy Plate Armor.
-Some village defenses.....When you attack villagers....Have more than three guards running at you over and over, time after time....Have a guard/brave villager run up a guard post where a harpoon gun....Or something was kept........Maybe each town would have a pen filled with attack dogs that when you act so bad they're released and go after you (I'm not too fond of attack-dogs, myself......Just trying to brainstorm more realistic ways for a town to defend itself)
-If you are so evil or whatever....You could hire a band of bandits and plant them in certain places to create your own, toll-pass area....Watch as traders pay YOUR bandits cash.
-After you did great things for towns....And got a bunch of renown...You'd see statues of yourself appearing in the clothes/appearance you had when you did the heroic act.
-For those that wanna take back their youth...There should be an item....An expensive one that is allowed to you after you beat the main storyline....Well, two items....An Age Reducer Potion...And an Age Increaser Potion.
-I know clothing is different........And in Hook Coast most everyone has grey hair......But shouldn't there we like......Say Knothole Glade....People be dressed in a more nomadic fashion. Bowerstone South people in raggy clothes as oppose to the grand robes/gowns/suits that those in Bowerstone North wore....While, Oakvale people would have modest clothing....Maybe with some speck of dirt on them.
-An idea I -think- I left out....Couldn't find it after re-reading earlier posts of mine.......Age differences....I don't wanna see people aging with you, per say....But it would be nice to see an old guy with a cane...Or constantly at a bench, feeding birds.......An old woman going about town......Children of various ages.......And all of the above would be perfectly....Killable.
-I'm drawing a blank.....But maybe some of ya'll could help me think of more/different types of businesses our Hero could own/invest in....As well as other money-making ways.
-As for pets.....I wouldn't want them to play a crucial role which would compromise Fable's uniqueness....But it would be nice to have a nice dog following you around in his own glorious plate armor......Even have the dogs be good or evil..
-Say, once you've become so evil...And note....This can't be used during quest since if you had a bunch of money you wouldn't hafta fight.....It would be nice to be able to hire assassins to kill any NPC you designated.
-There should be some "special" NPC's....These correlate with my earlier idea of having your own castle......Say, there's a "special" NPC called a Lord......This Lord is the owner of the castle....He's vastly protected.....And only stays around his castle....Some of these Lords may have daughters (Or sons...For some of you) which you could wed making you feel powerful..And giving you access to the castle without being an intruder........Maybe, if you play your cards right you can become the Lord of that castle yourself.....And maybe certain castles hive you access to certain things....Maybe some castles have vaults which only the Castle Lord may enter...In those vaults would be several helping items....Maybe a legendary weapon......Some castles, if the Lord was a chief/town ruler....May give you a large sum of money regularily which would be considered the taxes the villagers pay to that Lord.....But...When you are to marry a Lord's daughter....Of course it would take a great deal of renown.
-Seeing a preview of the mushroom quest inspired this.....Have items that would.....Intoxicate you and make you go in berserk....Without it having anything to do with mana....Have them act as alchohol does and mess up vision.
-I'd also like to see some wild animals...Maybe some rabbits and deer.....Kill them and you get evil points.
-I wanna see some, "useless" NPCs.....But there's a reason I call them useless....They'd be unique.....That means...They wouldn't be like villagers and traders....They'd be like characters such as Maze, Briar Rose, and Thunder.....But they wouldn't impact the story....Just gameplay.....If used to full potential...They could affect gameplay and could offer sidequests......These are some of the characters and their environments I'd like to see.........A king like person who resides in a very unique and heavily guarded castle........A mob boss type guy who would live in an elegant house......Crazy witch woman who lives in the swamps.......A perverted villager who lives in a normal home and is a peeping tom on his neighbors.......A washed up knight of the old who you help through quests that I'll leave up to Lionshead to think up...You find him in a Bowerstone South-like shack and as you help him you restore him to riches and glory.....And here's one quest I thought up of my own....You do these, "Go here and get this" quest for a certain blacksmith...And when you're finished he uses those materials to make a suit of armor that is not buyable.
-My last sentence made me think of something.....Why is there only legendary weapons? Why not some legendary armor.......Take Nostro the Gatekeeper.....Wouldn't it be nice that after you finished that quest to go back and steal his armor? Do quests like in the last sentence of my above paragraph and get rewarded with Legendary Armor/Clothing.
-And in World of Warcraft you can turn animal/beast hides into clothing....This is an excellent idea for Fable.
-I don't know how the following works in World of Warcraft....But some features should be taken from it for Fable.....I mean....It adds depth....And it'd be more creative ways to make money instead of stealing and selling items and collecting rent....Or using the Trophy-House glitch.
-Another thing I'd like to see changed in Fable II....Fishing.....Fishing isn't a fun lil' extra thing to do....It's a nuisance to me taht you are required to do in I believe just one Quest......But the way they have fishing set up is just so annoying...I can't stand it.....It isn't fun in the least bit.....Now, I don't mind something being challenging...As long as it is fun...And I actually get furious at the thought of fishing in Fable.
-Symbols....Some symbolism.....There's the Bowerstone weigh thing.....Guild seal.......Avo's symbol......Skorm's symbol....Why not take this up another level?
Maybe.....Being such a good trader gives you a (Fable II's Bowerstone equivalent) seal....Which gives you access to a Merchants Quarters....Cheap products and several legendary/awesome products.
A bandit seal where you wave it at someone and look like a strong person....Travelling villagers/Guards/Traders will just fork over some cash/items.
-New clothing option.....Hobo Attire!......Dress like crap.....Beg for money.....Whether you get it depends on what villagers think of you.....Of course, excessive begging may result in some guards taking you out back and beating on you (Not fining, just cruel beating)
Posted: Sun Oct 30, 2005 3:43 pm
by Tony Carmonte
-Another new clothing option......Priest! Yes, be a priest of Avo/Skorm......Spread the word....Convert towns......Build your own church where you preside/help preside over the teaching of your god's ways.....Turn a rickety 'ol wooden shack for Avo in a cess-pool town which survives off vice into a magnificent Cathedral, turning the town into bible-thumpers....Or...Vice-versa.
Doing this may make a brothel and tavern spring up in place of the town's.....School....Orphanage, whatever.....Allowing some openness in the game....Openness you can exploit......And own.....And make money off of. =)
-This is something I have been fighting with myself about.....But incase the idea was never thought of, I'd atleast pitch it and allow Lionhead Studios, in its infinite wisdom decide whether it was Fable II or even game worthy......A banking system, it would provide a new building for every town, more depth.....And it would create a "living" world....Interest rates would change, affecting your own businesses as well as the amount of money you accumulate off of savings' interest.....And it would be a great thing to rob for some quick cash and evil points.
-Insurance businesses....Though stretching our medieval-ish game a bit....Imagine the possibilities.....If random natural disasters were implemented into the game and could affect your business, and even the interest rate, as told above.....Then insurance could play a big role....You could even set fire to a house or two of yours to collect on the insurance imbursement....Of course, an evil booster.
-As you all know, I've been big on wanting some money-making jobs, no, not that Final Fantasy job-system where you choose a job and get certain attacks and certain clothes.....Actual jobs.....Like others I've listed earlier, being a Priest, Bandit, Mayor/Chief....And what is going to be the actual idea you've all been waiting for....Being a Grave-Digger......No longer just dig up items....How about bury people for some quick cash? Heck, get enough "Morbid" skills and you could even become an Undertaker...Even own your own coffin-selling business.
-Okay....I'm gonna base all these features I want for Fable II, in Fable....In the original world of Fable.....So, let's say this.....You just beat the Arena, blew a bunch of money on some all different types of Plate Armor, and some dresses....Now, you wanna buy that Solus Greatsword but you just don't have the cash...So you go to Knothole Glade and carry wood from stockpile to storage.....You make crap....Do this enough and you get a woodcutter's axe and depending on your physical strength you chop wood.....These keeps going, you upgrade to two-man saws and such....And then you get the option to go into business for yourself, buy a small saw mill-like building, like the one outside the city of Knothole Glade, but inside the Knothole Glade area....That unbuyable building....So, you hire some woodcutters and now you make money off the labor of others, of course you could still chop wood...And now you're in competition of Knothole Lumber Co. or whatever.....Well.....You're making good money.....But you're just a bit short of getting that Solus...So you become a carpenter....You make things like cabinents, beds, tables, chairs, etc......Now, at first you can only make the "poor" quality of..We'll use the example of cabinents....Those real grey and rickity cabinents....Make enough of these and you bump up to that average wood composed cabinent...Do it more and you get that finished cabinent with the silver tips and glass doors.....Make enough of these and you're making those beautifully ornamental gold-tipped cabinents.....Congrats, you're now a Master Carpenter....Maybe you can get a hat for it =P
Now...To expand on my Undertaker idea....How about...You use your woodcutting business to get the wood as well as make money for your carpenty....Where you can make or train workers to make coffins which you can use in your Undertaker business........Ahhhhhhhhh....
-I've been thinking on how to imrpove other areas of money-making....Fishing, start as a wandering hero, fishing in every water hole there is....Start laying, "traps" which catch a great many of fresh water fish......Then, get your own lil' rickity boat (status symbol) and go out to sea, cast out nets and use harpoons to catch some sea fish, though you would hafta go back to the port of Oakvale/Hook Coast/Whatever is in Fable II considering that tiny boat could only hold so much.....Bump yourself up to larger fishing vessals, hire fishing crews whose skills expand as they fish....For the sake of adding depth...When going to the tavern you might see your fishermen from time to time telling sea stories, etc.....And if fishing is getting boring...Turn that boat to a pirating vessal, arm those fishermen with some cleavers and start your own pirating side business...Steal gold, weapons, clothing, and items....
-Staffs and wands......The perfect weapon for a wannabe mage.......It could have a magical bonus....Lightning, when wielding a staff, would go through the staff, causing more damage.
-This is an accessory that was inspired by the above idea...How about canes? You could equip them as weapons, though they would be weak...And they would act as status symbols....Walk around like a powerful aristocrat....Or be Pimp-Daddy Hero.
-I can easily understand...And love that ye olde English feel that Albion had.......But I felt that it limited the environment and I would like to see buildings that reflected the following architectural styles....Romanesque, very reseambling to the Roman Empire, bath houses, Italian villas, palaces, columns.........I'd like to see some Arabic-styled buildings with the stucko (spelling) walls, several rugs and etc.
-I've been big lately on having these jobs you can focus your character around so you can make money...Uniquely, well, here I have a new one.......Soldier, now, maybe in Fable II there will be a giant powerful Bowerstone with a powerful army......And since none of the other villages seem "powerful" enough to have a decent sized army.....Well, regardless of whether or not there will be multiple "superpowers" in Fable II....It's safe to assume that if a Fable sequel is made it will follow the lines of all RPGs and have atleast one super town.....Now, say that town had a super army....You start as a lowly drummer-boy, or assistant to soldiers....Move up to poorly-equiped militia.....Up to regular soldier, corporal, sergeant, lieutenant, colonel, general, and chief of armed forces, so on...Or whatever......Make an occupation out of it....Possibilities are great.
Edit: Got some more elaboration I can throw in on this idea, naturally, your rank would be distinguished by your uniform....Ragged clothes for a soldier, heavy armor for some elite operative, and fancy uniforms for officers....Which this idea itself would have the potential to add for Fable II, a wardrobe nearly the size of Fable's wardrobe.....Each rank would have duties and etc.....A sergeant would train and be responsible for a small group of men, his expertise would advance him.......A general would make military policies for his army.....Officers, if placed in charge of towns would have the option of taxing and adjusting taxes for their controlled area.....While, lowly soldiers would have the option of cleaning latrines which is going to create a new level of work....Cleaning, which I will elaborate on later on a new idea when I get more thought for it.......Officers could make merchants pay tolls, legally.....If you lost a battle or thought your men performed poorly...You could kill every ten, third, second, or all of your men to instill fear into them.....You would hafta constantly train and have your men trained so they are up to shape.....How you treat civillians in your area and your troops would reflect upon you and you could be punished or praised, depending on the ideals of your supervisor....I would like to see a "living" ranking system....When you are a lowly soldier the Chief of Army could be a magnificiently righteous man......Later in your career he may be bumped to a lower form of General and a blood-crazed and very severe man would be Chief of Army......Etc......The military could even be a Navy, throwing a whole new spin on my other ideas involving pirating ships, being a fisherman of the sea, etc.
-Alright, a new career choice for our Hero........Fable II meet Harvest Moon. That's right, be a farmer....When not slaying rock trolls you could be planting seeds.....Go from small garden plot near your house...To low-level farm.....To giant plantation. Not only could you plant stuff like tomatoes, watermelons, and lettuce.....How about being a beef farmer? Dairy farmer? poultry farmer? Hog farmer? Orchard ranches? Imagine, domesticated animals would throw in a great amount of depth....Take your animals to livestock shows...Make money......This could even lead to a new shop and shopkeeper, The Butcher.....Heck, if my idea is expanded upon enough...You could do like I've described for other careers...Train and become a Butcher..........Think, you cut meat....Get paid a salary......Now, if you own the store....You can take more profit........But buying meat from traders isn't very profitable......Have your own cattle ranch and then you could sell your store the meat, you cut it........Of course, once that great of success is made you can't run a shop....There's fairies to have se-....To kill. So, though I think you should have the option to be your own Butcher....You should have the option of owning the store, hiring and paying a Butcher and even hiring farmhands for your various farms............And to throw in the good and evil factor......Slavery, that's right...Have slaves pick your vegetables......Though, slavery may not be allowed in some towns......It could become a political thing.....Now, I introduce you all to a new monoply system involving one type of farm.
You start as a Butcher Apprentice....Then you become a Butcher for a shop owner....You make enough money on Quests and this job to buy the store....You work in your own store and then buy a ranch so you can control your own beef prices....But to lower the cost it takes you to herd those cattle...You use slaves...But, wait.....Oakvale is anti-slavery.....Well, use an earlier idea of mine.....Become the Mayor of Oakvale! Make the laws yourself....Use your influence to create your own monoply from humble beginnings!
-Alright, this idea revolves around one thing, tobacco. Now, imagine if you could go into a shop, buy a pouch of tobacco and smoke it. You could have big thick cigars, wear medieval flashy clothes and big thick gold rings. Or wear an assassin or bandit's outfit and roll yourself a thin cigarette. Even better, buy a corncob pipe and put some tobacco in it and light it, smoking your pipe. The pipe could even become a status symbol. The Fable II (If there is a Fable II going to be made) young hero, after embarking on the world on his own buys a corn cob pipe and picks up smoking, fast forward a few pieces of gold later and he buys a nice oak pipe, fast forward this hero into a world of castles, manors, and trophies and he's smoking a big gold pipe, looking all prominent. And for the sake of depth....When your Hero reaches an old age you might catch him giving a cough every once in awhile. And why should we limit tobacco to just smoking? Here comes some chew, that's right, make your hero into a hillbilly =P have him chew tobacco, spit it on a tavern floor.....If he sees a guard that caught him shoplifting that one time, have him spit it in the guard's face, watch as the guard backs down from your bulking hero, or if your hero is 18 and weighs 90 lbs, watch the Guard give him a beating he will never forget. And how about some Tobacco Crates? They would act just like Cider Crates, a trading commodity. And how about using an earlier idea of mine and making tobacco one of the crops you can farm and sell....Be rich off the thing that will give you lung cancer!
-This idea sorta blends in with the earlier idea.......Things like the chainmail helm and etc.....As you can see, they have hinges that are made to be pushed up, yet they always stay over your face. What if there was a button where you lift it up....It sure would come in handy during a battle when you wanna smoke that pipe and don't want a Bandit cracking your skull open. =P
-I know how we get reactions to our clothing in Fable......Examples, claps when wearing Bright Plate Armor.....Screams when wearing Dark Mage clothing........And people turning away in an Assassins Outfit.........But that seems a bit.....Well, depthless.
What if instead.....You got these, "Ooooh, look how mighty he is in that armor." but if you were in a town for several days and still wearing those clothes people would be like, "Wow, that armor seems pointless, eh?"
So, instead of getting boos and cheers whether or not your clothes are bright or dark.....Why not get descriptive remarks for JUST that outfit?
Adds useless, "Oooh, look at that feature" depth......And that is the best useless depth there is. =P
-Now, let's start here.......The Guild is to be where you learn it all, right? How come it's just fighting? You should hafta read books (Not really long books, but far longer than the one paragraph that describes books you find in Fable)....Go to the library, check out a book (costs about 1 gold and there would be late fees.....All for depth) sit in lecture halls.....You could learn some practical stuff that may pay off in you finding some grand item later in the game.....You could study books on fighting, books on business, books on religion, etc.....You would even hafta pass a graduation test to get out of the Guild........And to throw in some evil options...You could beat up people to help you cheat in your tests.
Now, say you read a lot of religious books and you wanna be a man of Avo/Skorm. Say you're a wandering monk who kills Bandits and stops every now and then to bless Traders and passersby. Say you move into an old shack in Oakvale (Using Fable references for ideas in Fable II, mind you.) and you start preaching to a tiny congregation.......You could pocket all the gold from collections.....And the gooder (now a word) you are...The more people you would probably have if you're a Priest of Avo......And the eviler you are the more people you would have in your church if you're a Priest of Skorm........Now, you pray, bless, give sermons, etc to your congregation....Heck, you eventually move from a tiny shack to an amazing cathedral and instead of wearing that 'ol villagers uniform you have yourself a big ornamental robe and one of those Pope Staff things and a big Pope Hat.....Now, why not take this a step further? Back in ye olde days.....A high-level priest/bishop/whatever ya wanna call 'em was as powerful as a king....Why not use this power? Overturn Bowerstone's mayor and turn the city of Bowerstone into a theocracy.......Or maybe you could blame the death of a villager on witches and hold some witch trials (Can we say, Salem?)
The Church, even if you aren't a priest, could play a major role in the game. Say we have seasons and holidays.....You would see themes of these holidays (if the holiday is religious) surrounding the church. You could read and interpret the Avo/Skorm versions of The Holy Bible and give sermons based on it.
Ofcourse, you would have different ways to improve who congregates and the amount that congregates in your church. Buy some golden candle holders over wooden ones.....Have elaborate banners.....Have marble fountains, etc....Things that show wealth in your church and you would find yourself with more congregates and you would attract the wealthy in your church as well as the HARDCORE bible-thumpers.
-New idea, using the one above.........Think about it.....You're tired of preaching in a shack.....But you like taking money from the collection plate......How do you lower the cost of building that illustrious cathedral? Become a Stone Mason. That's right, manual labor......You could work as a low-level laborer in a Quarry and even come to own it one day.......Congrats, you can control the price of your own stone......But why pay people to build YOUR church with YOUR stone? Learn (read books and be an apprentice) how to lay stone.......You use these skills to build a magnificent cathedral....For a low, low price.......Heck, you could build houses for people....And if you're a carpenter (From another idea) you could make the wooden furniture (cabinets, beds, chairs) for that house......And if you are a farmer and a fisherman....You could sell the food from the stores you own to the people who live in the houses you built. Can we say, Monoply?
-We all agree on one thing for Fable II.....A big world......Well, that means a lot of space between towns......Now...Portals go from town to town and important places.....But what if there's some fun places inbetween how do you get there quickly, without walking? Tony's Answer: HORSES! Now, a young Hero who can barely kill a rock troll with just a few pieces of gold in his bag can't afford a thoroughbred stallion, noooooo.......That's why his first choice would be a burro (donkey) now, this donkey would be extremely slow and just plain look ugly...But if you're a farmer who can't afford to hire workers or buy slaves...And you don't have the time to use a small plow....Hook a plow up to that donkey.
Then there's the horse.....You would have a few breed of horses to choose from, but I know nothing about horses so I can't tell you good breeds......But let's say you get some more gold and wanna buy a speedy "ride" you get a cheap horse....Then say you make tons of gold and want an impressive stallion, get it.....For the sake of depth let's give your horse/donkey the option to have armor......Now, mounted fighting would be a great feature but the horse doesn't need to be a fighting beast, you're the fighter, he's the ride.......Give your horse some leather armor, chainmail armor, or plate armor.....Let your horse be a status symbol for you. And as far as status symbols go....How about you buy some wagons to transport goods from town to town for you to sell....Buy workers to man your many wagons and become a shipping mogul in the land of Albion (Whatver the Fable II world is called) how about buy yourself a chariot to stand in proudly and go through town in? How about riding in a giant gold laced carriage? Now, for more depth.......Riding a horse for some time is quite a dirty thing.....Dust gets on your new Will User outfit and dirties it up........You need to wear a duster (cowboy jacket thing) to prevent looking filthy. Of course, riding in a carriage would not get you dirty and make you look like a million bu-....I mean, gold.
Now, give your animal some more options than being transport, battle mount, farm tool......How about races? How about being a rancher, raising and selling your own horses.
Tony, what's these upgrades and armors you talked about for your horse? Give us some detail. Well, here you go.......Get fancier saddles......Fancier shoes (those iron things that horses wear on their feet) get them some armor and clothing. And what about the chariots and carriages? Go from rickety 'ol chariots/carriage that are made from plain wood....Get some more gold and buy one that is decorated with silver.....Invest some more gold in your ride and get one ornated with gold.
Now, a horse must be taken care of.......So, you hafta feed and water your horse regularily....Now, if you had the money you could ofcourse have multiple horses and/or donkeys.....But where you gonna house them? Stables.....Stables, just like your clothes, hairstyle, home, and horse would be a status symbol.....Go from a one-horse stable with nothing more than a shabby roof to a giant estate's stable which looks nicer than most of Albion's homes. Of course, you wouldn't hafta constantly feed your animal, if you have the money you could certainly hire stable-boys to take care of 'em for ya...And for a funny sidenote and exploiting an old stereotype....When your Hero walks through a stable (whether it's his or anothers) you would hear the stable-boys cuss just like the old saying goes. And for the sake of something funny...Say you're a powerful priest with riches pouring out the.....Well, you know...And you hear a stable boy cuss....Watch him quake in fear as he takes not of your religious disposition. =P
-This has been noted before and I've thrown in on this recently.....But make your character get dirty......If you go around a lot...You get dirty.....You need baths......Get standard baths in wooden tubs when you're poor...And when you're rich and powerful go to elaborate bath houses and get pampered.....Also, have your clothes get dirty and need to be regularily washed......BUT! Make dirt a toggle feature.....I don't want someone complaining, "Gah! I'm tired of always having to take a bath...It's annoying."
-I've been big on businesses for Fable II, now think of a medieval mob boss.......Lives in his lil' manor which is fueled by toll passes ran by his bandits........His collectors walking around shops and collecting protection .....Ownership of his own backroom gambling dens which the guards, controlled by religious rulers (which could be you) try to raid. You could set up gangs of men who are paid regularily and they have their own guile skill and they would rob places you set them up to rob, they would take all the money in a shop at a current time and get as many items as they could and you would sell it through a fence (someone who sells stolen goods) once this crew gets on a high enough level they could even begin breaking into (successfully) manors and estates, stealing valuable decorations, jewels, and any money around......Of course, your own home could be attacked by Bandits/Criminals and you could have your own costly security force.......You could even impact the level of crime in Albion.....If you're a crime boss who has competition, expect a few break-ins.....If you're the top crime boss because you killed off all competition, expect no one to mess with you......Then there's things like.....If you're the "Pope" of Avo or whatever....Watch how all of Albion seems to be a nicer world...But if you're a grand "Pope" of Skorm, watch how crime runs through the streets.
-Alright, as we know...It takes a lot of stuff, and people, for a town to run, right? A Mayor/Chief and even my own idea-inspired religious leader can't run a town on its own........Imagine.....A world of politics.....Towns like Bowerstone (Or the Fable II Bowerstone equivalent) would have Ministries of Trade and Sewage, etc.......Where you could work in those ministries as the Minister of Sewage, Deputy Minister, etc....These would be your stepping stones into Mayorship. Though, towns like Knothole Glade wouldn't have a Ministry of Sewage, but they would have like a Ministry of Lumber......And Trade wouldn't be considered as high of a Ministership in Knothole Glade as it is in Bowerstone. This could even create a new area....Sewers.....Places to hide stuff, meet secretive people, or if you have a strange smell fetish.
-Why is everything a sword-based weapon? Why not some new weapon types like brass knuckles, or spiked gloves. Maybe some clubs and some of those big iron balls with chains attached to them that you swing weapons.
-Now, I haven't played TLC yet so I don't know if these spells exist....But I felt that fire was the only element represented by spells. What if there was a Quake/Earth spell that made a big rock pop up and do damage(Like how the Trolls do) and then there's Water spells where you materialize and shoot a powerful blast of water at the enemy, an ice spell where you congue up a giant icicle and drop it on the enemy, another ice spell where you freeze the enemy, causing itt to shiver during battle.
-How about more depth with spells....Say I cast Fireball/Enflame on a Bandit, I see him actually partially catch fire...But say I cast Fireball/Enflame on an armored enemy, watch as his armor melts or heats up and incinerates him from the outside.
-The last idea inspired the word, "oven" in me and made me think of this.....Now, I know in other RPGs that you can learn cooking skills and prepare meals and sell them for money or use them to increase your own HP, how about incorporate this here......How about you become a dishwasher boy in a Tavern, work your way up to chef, work in fancier taverns, work in restaurants, work in the kitchen of nobles, work in the kitchen of a king....Of course, salary would vary and this gives you a way to make money so you can buy that new sword you need to beat the tough boss in the next Quest......But take this chance to prepare a poision rittle meal for the tavern owner, so as you can buy his tavern, or to the noble, so you can buy his estate, same with the king. Or say you're a powerful general, the second command of a kingdom, under the king himself you infiltrate the kitchen, throw out the pie the chef made, make your own poison pie, it is fed to the king, he dies, YOU'RE KING!
-More things to do, recreation time.....Go to the tavern and order a meal, or go to a fancy restaurant and eat an elegant meal...Take girls or your wife/wives on dates in these places.
-If there is to be a snow village in Fable II (Once again, if there even is going to be a Fable II) and the inhabitants of that village are dressed as eskimoo people with thick fur outfits, let the Hero dress as they do. I just feel funny walking through a town with my Archon's Battle Armor, and I feel funny wearing thin clothing doesn't look like it fits the climate.
-Notice how Snowspire has all of these occupational tattoos, signs of where they are in society....I would like to see that in Fable II for all villages, not that all Blacksmiths have their own unique, "I'm the Bowerstone Blacksmith" tattoo....Maybe just some city tattoos, like all, or atleast some, Bowerstonians would have a tattoo, somewhere on their body that showed that scale which is the symbol of Bowerstone.........Now, what I'm about to say is two cities I'm creating for my following example.....Say I'm Hero Tony from the city of Tonyius, I have a tattoo of my city which is...Let's just say a big sword....I have this tattoo on my back....I go to the nearby rival city of Tonyratium and have a shirt on, they go, "Hey Tony!" but I take the shirt off and they see the tattoo of their enemy city and are all, "Boooo, string him up by his feet!".....Or if the cities are allies, they may all go, "Wooo, Tony the citizen of Tonyius, yay!"
-My next idea is on how to expand how townspeople react to your presence.....Say you're walking in Bowerstone North and you here those snobby rich people going, "Oh, the Bowerstone Southians are horrid excuses of people, they should be exterminated." So you go to the South and kill them all......They hail you in the North and run and scream from you in the South.....Here's another example, how about you run a city (Say you're Mayor or whatever) and you mess with taxes, make the nobles pay less, the poor pay more, etc....Watch how you start getting mixed reactions in cities, no longer does everyone hate you, only those you do wrong to hate you....I want the cities to have more depth, maybe their would be families who dislike one another, you kill the child in one family and that family fears you, the others invite you to the Tavern for a nice drink......And how about this, say you are a weak Hero, not too experienced, and say you go on a killing spree in Oakvale, but you cut it short because after awhile those Guards start running you low on Health Potions.....So, you wait until the Fine is gone and you go back....Watch how homes and shops close their doors on you....Maybe citizens will come out and stalk you, whispering behind your back, maybe they will pick up torches and demand you be executed, maybe the Guards warn you that you should leave for your own good and if you stay watch how they attempt to arrest you....And maybe they do.....Maybe they try to hang you.
-This idea is more veered towards punishments in towns.....Let's keep the Fine system for Fable II, but it should no longer be the ONLY punishment.....Let's say Guards approach you, use some medieval form of handcuffs to subdue you, then you could sit in a cell, wait a long time, then be released OR if your crime was severe you could go to one of the following punishments, all depending on the severity of the crime, your renown, your reputation, and how strict that town is. You could be put in the stocks and have rotton vegetables thrown at you.....Locked in a Gibbet.....Hanged......Decapitated.....Of course, depending on your strength, will, or guile (Break out with force, pick the lock, or use one of a variety of spells to shatter your restraints) you could break out.....Kill your captors, torturers, or executioners and then bolt.
-Another neat thing I believe should be implemented would be public use of Will, say I cast lightning at nothing, but infront of a group of villagers, watch how they run around in a frenzy and scream, "Witch, witch!" and then I may be accused and tried of witchcraft and have one of the above-mentioned punishments administrated to the Hero.
-These ideas have inspired a new ideas, new occupations. Become a Judge, judge those set before you, each town would have a guideline of what they consider illegal and what they consider is an appropriate punishment....And simply, you sit in a room designated for use of court (Maybe the tavern, a church, a building that is made for court, an auditorium, whatever best suits the town) you listen to their stories, and you give ruling....Of course, some courts had many judges, usually three, maybe you work yourself from a judge to a Chief Judge and head of each trial......Of course, being a judge in Knothole Glade (Or its Fable II equivalent) would bring you less profit than being a judge in Bowerstone (Or its equivalent)
-Play the role of the character that depth was added to in Fable: TLC.....Be a teacher! Give storybook lessons to the children, work your way up to being a professor at the Guild, maybe take the less-professional career and become a travelling scholar, sorta like The Archaelogist.
-I've talked about being a Guard, but what about having specialized Guards, maybe a Guard to the Mayor, a Guard that guards the Mayor's home, or maybe you guard a Judge, or act as a baileff (spelling) in the courtoom, or work in the town jails or the equivalent of Bargate as a simple jailer, work your way up to Warden even.
-If you're a Mayor/King/Chief/Warlord/Governor then you would have access to the city/county/state/kingdom/nation/whatever's funding and taxes.....You could control how much money goes to Education, Justice, City utilities (Mostly sewage since that is about all they had back then) and you would notice how the city changes, maybe there would be more sick people and human waste in the streets if you lowered sewage, you would see more scholars, poets, artisans, etc if there was high funding in Education....Etc. You would notice, by means of complaints or praises from citizens, on how they react to tax increases and funding changes, of course, if you're a Teacher/Judge/Whatever then the current Mayor/King/Whatever could adjust funding and it would affect your payment.
-Another job I thought about (Maybe I've posted it before) is being an author or poet.....But how you would go about writing books and how you would make money off it I have yet to know. (Because you shouldn't be able to write a book with words like "dfafadsfdsa" and make money off it)
-Another job should be a Torturer/Executioner, you would beat people with whips, cut off limbs or body parts, burn or brand areas of the body, chop off heads, hang people, etc....Now, you wouldn't be given evil points for just doing your job, but if you go a bit far (Which if done distastefully could get you fired) then you would become evil....Note, say someone is caught stealing and they are to receive 30 lashes, say you give them 31....You get a few evil points.......But say a woman was caught kissing another man other than her husband......And you were assigned to give her 30 lashes, but instead you killed her.....Then you may find yourself standing in an unemployment line.
-TLC mentioned the lands of the East. Which, I take to mean Asia/China/Oriental/You get the point type areas.......I personally would like to go to an Asian/Japanese/Chinese styled town...Maybe pick up some karate chopping moves, highkicks, some special katana motions, etc......As well as pick up some oriental hair styles and tattoos, maybe implement the use of shurikens (Ninja throwing stars) maybe pick up some Samurai Armor (A ripoff of Plate Armor) and some Hooded Ninja Costumes (A ripoff off the Assassin Suit) but I wouldn't wanna compromise the Fableyness of Fable, and I believe if Lionhead does consider using an Asian-styled town (Heck, the next Fable may even be in an Asian-styled world) then they should approach it with some subtle discretion.....Not just walk around in an area and BOOM a big 'ole Japanese-ish town.....It should be something like, there's a Cullis Gate (If Cullis Gates are gonna exist in Fable II) that has long been abandoned and there's some strange things going on there, you are given special access by the Guild (If there is to be a Guild in Fable II) to check this place out....And the path from the Cullis Gate leads to the above-described town.
-Alright, when we buy steak, they weigh it and you are charged by the weight of the meat, right? Why is it that all Fish I try to sell in Fable: TLC costs the same? I'm sure that fishing will make it over to Fable II, so please, please, let there be a weight factor when it comes to Fish prices.
-I know I've discussed cooking, restuarants, bistros, places to eat in Fable II in which you could own and even work in. But what about bakeries? Here is what I'd like.....There would be restaraunts, in which you could work as a cleaning boy, dish washer, cook, etc......You couldn't just go in and buy food and walk out and eat, no, you would hafta sit down and eat a real meal. While Bakeries would sell pastries, pies, cakes, etc and you would buy them and leave and eat them wherever you want to. Though, I believe if it fits better, restuarants could simply be built inside the Taverns, whatever the creators wanna do. Though, I believe you could also, instead of working in a public place of dining, you could, as I've talked about before, be the cook in the home of a noble or royalty.
~~~***THE IDEAS ARE FINALLY OVER***~~~
So, I hope you enjoyed reading it all...As I'm sure you did, read every BIT of it. =P

Some More Ideas:
[INDENT]
Bandits:
-A/some bandit village(s),with bandit women,children and captives, also bandits who clap if your evil and folow you if you tell them to. (opposite of normal towns) so things are really good if you want to be evil
, you can free captives for good points also. Imagine having a bandit wife!
-In towns bandits being exicuted, you being the exicutionor, and you can choose evil + -50 reputation if you swing and miss or free him. OR good + +50 reputation if you take no hesitation.
Armour:
-Furs (balverine(average amount money)undead(cheap but bad atractiveness and normal animals which have various prices (including fake fur))
-Armour mutates with alignment and reputation (evil-black/purple, good - gold/white. and the more reputation you get the shiner armour becomes.
Pets:
-Armour corresponds to pet, i.e goes scaly for snake, leather at joints for cat, patchy for dog etc.(if you are wearing no armour, you become interbreed person/typ of pet.
-Pets corospond to aligment and renown, i.e low renown: dismal, high renown: proud. good: gold coloured and smiles. evil: black and growls/hisses.
-Mountable pets i.e. big dragon, horse, slave
(piggy back) can also dismount and tell them to folow.
-Balverine pet????????

Well thats all from me so far, c u soon (see you soon)

capes and shields
Capes and definetly shields, you begin with a wooden shield en you end up with Skorm's Shield. Or you could design you own cape and stuff:
Yeah
.
And maybe a better way to spend experience.
Definetly dual weapons, especially dual katana's

-How about some online play? There could be the main quest, on single player, and then some online play, where your single player character gets to interact with other players characters. You could even form clans of assassins, a group of knights, a mercenary clan even. Players could have villages with other players, and then players could raid villages together. So many things could be done with online play.
-If not PvP online play, what about downloadable content. I love Fable, but after you've beaten it and done those quests so many times, it just gets dull. If you could download new quests, new items, new areas even, it would add to the replay value ten fold.

Longer playage time.
Combat that actually gets difficult - Hold block, wait for opening, swing/spam Inflame seems to simply decimate everything.
Less early access to powerfull items - Gaining something like the light something willow axe about 2 hours into the game makes it a little too easy early on.
Appearance - More 'own choice' - the possibility to be a oriental woman, etc.
Dual wield weapons, sheilds - majorly add details of SPEED. Most Xbows own bows at dmg, however speed seems to be ignored in these issues - perhaps adding DPS or just a speed slot would help.
No horses, no teleports, good old use of feet and perhaps a mailing system so that you don't need to constantly portal/run back to guild.
Lastly, less maximisation of all stats. In RPGs the choice of: Do I cast spells or do I have huge hp and wield a giant axe.
Rather than the current: I'm starting as a mage, but now after grinding for several hours i have max toughness, health and power, oh look all spells maxed out and a full mana pool.

i dont know if anyone has thought of this yet, but it is something that has been bugging me, two things actually.
Id like to see a 30 second (or higher) time limit to get out of a shop or house once the guard announces they are closing, im tired of paying fines because i couldnt get out in a split second.
and id like to be able to actually give health potions to people who needed them, it would make alot of missions quite a bit easier.

Read the majority of posts, and some very good ideas. Anyhow, heres a few of my own..
Longevity:
This seems to be everyones main request, and I agree 100%. Longer story, more quests, and so on.
Weapons:
Anyone who has played NWN, or more specifically used the toolset, will recognise this. Each weapon should consist of a few seperate parts. For example, a longsword should have a handle, hilt, and blade. Each of these parts should have a few different models, and each of these models should be available in a few different colours. Now, when you buy a longsword, it would be generated randomly. This would give much more variation, and could also be applied to NPC's, so a group of bandits aren't all weilding the same weapon. Legendary weapons would be an exception to this, and should remain one-of-a-kind models. Also agree with adding more weapon types staffs, spears, flails etc.
Armor:
Along the same lines of the idea for weapons, generally more variations. However add the ability to buy suits of armor together, as well as keeping the option to buy parts seperately. Buying a suit would give you an armor of matching colour, items bought individually would be of random colour/model. Add more clothing along the lines of the villagers clothes, no protection, but comfortable enough to sit in the tavern all night. Dress clothing for those fancy occasions. Shields are a must, from buckler to tower.
Combat:
I thougt that the combat system in Fable was excellent, And nothing major should be changed in this area. However I can think of a few small additions. A lunge attack in melee (Idea gotten from Whisper's flying kick). This could change depending on weapon. Parrying ability, could be as simple as hitting a key as you block an attack, or timing your attack as your enemy strikes. This would un-balance the opponent and give a free attack.
Abilities:
More, lots more. Add some area effect spells, cover an area with a blizzard? Create a wall of fire to stop your enemy advancing? Not sure how to incorporate this, possibly use a method simmilar to a bows manual aim. Possibly gain special melee attacks, which would be used like a spell, from extensive melee battle?
Battles/Wars:
Have seen this idea posted a few times. I think when in one of these epic battles, our renown should affect what you can do, starting out as a mere soldier, then with higher renown, becoming a commander etc, being able to give orders to the other soldiers
Learn A Trade:
This would fit in with the weapon/armor system I mentioned earlier. Learn the ways of weapon and armor smiths. Once learnt, you would be able to visit a smiths and customize/create your equipment, choosing the colour/model of each part.

Ok.. first of all.. more quests! the gameplay is too short.. include more twists like maze or the guild master dying.. have more complicated and detailed cities and NPCs and actions...such as allowing the hero to talk... showing dirt when digging in the ground.. mayb have like underground or underwater cities. allow us to customize our heros a little more such as colours of hair,skin,eye,etc.. and the aging process should go along with the storyline instead of experience.. have experience spending be done anywhere. maybe get turned into a balverine for a couple of days if one kills you.. different races would be great instead of just humans which is boring. include more arenas instead of just one.. also more items such as staffs and sceptres, halberds,shields legendary weapons have special attacks?.. have capes too.. for skills.. maybe jumping would be nice, dual wielding and sword-shield wielding.. allow us to cutomize our own attack combos.. mayb a sword+bow attack combo.. Horses to buy and ride! that would be awesome.. alowing us to craft our own armours.. weapons.. oh yeah.. freeze or set our enemies ablaze or electrify them for them to get continuous damage.. speaking of that.. more powerful enemies and bosses would be nice.maybe special schools in strength,skill and will to join so that we can have bonuses in these areas. instead of calling it heroes guild,give it another name and have different guilds, like in the beginning of the game, instead of maze coming to take you into his guild, more guild leaders will arrive and we can choose which guild to join.. maybe have guild wars too.. online play would be great too...

I think that fable 2 should let you roam around and pick boy and girl characters. And make your own armys.
