I had the entire first post for my character written, and was just about to open the thread, when my computer locked up and I lost it. It's late, I won;t be around tommorrow as I got a job lined up doing some house painting, so I'm ain't re-typing it tonight. It's a conspiracy I tell you. Vile sabatoge, and I will have my vengence.

Oh, length doesn't bother me at all.
I'll have to read it after I get some sleep, last day of sitting starts in 5 hours and I'm finally tired. Yay for that.
If the little one is decent I'll try writing something up during the morning, if not after she goes home.
Then I'll get to introduce my gnome! Ha.

[QUOTE=Bloodstalker]Nice post DW. Glad to see Axis made the trip intact

lol! Cheers
Well I don't know.. if Axis keeps up his attitude, there's no knowing how long he'll remain intact
Sounds great Magrus! I'm looking forward to reading it !

Nice part, DW. So you're character has Druidic and Mage powers? Impressive.
To all: If you don't mind, I'll probably have to excuse myself from writing until next wednesday. I've got some pretty important exams coming up, but after the 22th, I'll be available. I might pull a small part off after tomorrow, but chances are small.
Just so you know.

EXCELLENT post DW
A very cool character.
(In D&D terms, you could go down the Geomancer path- it was prestiege class from 3rd ed. It might give you useful ideas just to look at it)
I am getting excited about posting, but I am going to wait. I envision my character getting involved because of circumstance. I'm also still fleshing him out in my head.

i'm still deciding between a couple of classes for my char, so it might be a little while before I post.
@DW, what race is Tashara? I had thought she was full elven, but it sounded she was half-elf or full human. Just wondering.

@Sytze and Cuch
Thanks
It was the result of procrastination, writing is so much more appealing than packing
Don't feel overly pressured to post, as we said before, personal schedules and/or inclinations are understood, and RL needs take priority
Regarding Tashara's class: This character comes from the original DF books. I liked her, so didn't want to start anything different. She was/is a fighter/mage. However, for the last approximately 4 years she has been living with an elven community, and many of its members are druids or rangers. Owing to her less than balanced state at the latter stages of DF Book 5, she decided she needed to get her head together, and hence wandered a bit, eventually settling with the elven community. As part of her 'therapy' she began to learn the ways of the druids. She is a decent fighter, a powerful mage capable of casting spells such as Dragon's Breath and the various special abilities that are available to high level mages and sorcerers in Shadows of Amn, and a fairly mediocre druid. I picture her at less than level 10 in druid abilities.
That being said, I'm not especially fussed about exact class definitions. The geomacer class definitely sounds intriguing though, I like the part about becoming more like the animals and land
The original Tashara was fully human. I am considering, though, giving her a small amount of elven blood, an eighth or a quarter perhaps. Her human features predominate, however, and very few would be able to detect any elven traces.
Thanks

A question, what goal should I set for a rough level for my character? Are we doing bumbling new adventurer types, or seasoned, high level characters?
It sounds as though your's happens to be quite high DW.
Just so I know where to base the personality and such around. I don't want to make someone that's going to end up playing the self-pitying toady to the rest of the group, or far too powerful and such, you know?

Fair enough
Yeah, you'd probably want to have a fairly seasoned and high level character. I think BS will also be bringing back his old character, and he will be at a similar level to mine, I'm guessing.

I'm assuming you're close to 30th level or so then given your comment on "fairly mediocre druid abilities" being less than 10 and having "powerful mage" and "decent fighter"?
Hmm, that brings a whole new ball-game to things. I was thinking of something more along to 6th level or so. That would have led to all sorts of humilation, might as well have named my gnome "Patsy".

I think that would be about right. Though, I have not really spent much time closely thinking about it.
It is sort of like writing out a recipe for a dish you have created, it gets really difficult to determine quanties and measurements, since the making has become quite instinctive
lol!!!
It is a good thing you asked. My apologies, in putting up this thread I think both BS and I forgot to mention anything about approximate levels

Read your back story, I love it.
I'll redo my character idea to fit a more experienced one. That opens up all sorts of options.
Hopefully I can have a post up by later this evening.

30th level!
Good golly- I'm with you Mag. I don't think our characters together would have added up to Tashara's mage levels alone. I would have just named him "meatbag" and started a tab at the resurrection counter of the local temple.
Is there any consensus on which characters will be involved? I have an idea for my character, but I don't want to have multiple similar characters running around (ie- I won't be making a female Fighter/Mage gone Druid, or a Geomancer
).
@Geomancer
Are you familiar with the kit DW? It is a neat idea. There were requisite levels of both Arcane and Divine spellcasting ability. Because the character weilded both types, there stopped being that seperation, and majic was just a natural thing. Clerics could use their Wis as the prime requisite instead of their Int, Mages could cast spells wearing armor, etc. Also, over time, the Geomancer mutated, morphing into something more "natural", reflecting the source of the magic- growing gils or wings, being able to photosynthesize or use tremorsense... it could get pretty wacky.
With all this said, it is probably a little late to add another class, but it is always good to consider.
