Are you saying that the Bag of Holding in BG II actually has a weight-limit, or that it should based on PnP? I was at my limit, I removed a couple of potions, and put a couple of suits of armor in instead. Silly game, but I guess I can't expect everything to be perfect...

what irrates me is when you come to a locked box. Your main character can't open it (fighter) so you click on the thief to go over a open it and he can't get to it because your character is standing in the way like a frickin' dumbass. Move the hell out of the way!

No kits for multiclass I can understand, kits are for specialists in a specific class, while studying in their specialisation, they wouldn't have time to study for their 0other classes.
IMO BG2 has been too heavily weighted towards fighters, and particularly Paladins (the fact that 2 of the NPCs are Paladins shows this). You almost MUST have a Paladin in your party to have a good chance in some places. I went through the whole game with no cheats first time, second time I used the walkthrough available here, and if you look at the walkthrough it's littered with statements like "send your Paladin in first" or "if you are a Paladin you can ....". Why is it that the one multi-class type that every race can have (Fighter/Thief) is not represented at all amongst the NPCs, yet we have 2 Paladins and 2 Rangers?

Wookie,
I think the designers wanted to avoid the Fighter/Thief like the plague. That class was, arguably, the best class in BGI, and was used and abused by many people. They changed the backstabbing and hide in shadows rules just because it was so dominant.
I'm annoyed that there was no NPC monk, barbarian, or sorceror. You have to play a PC one to enjoy the new classes.

That's why I play a F/T, because it's such a useful combination. I can lead the party, have good HP, AC and attacking capabilities, detect traps while leading and I don't need to bother bringing up another party member to remove traps or open locks for me. In BG1 and early BG2 it's even better, because the player character gets all those nice CLW spells as well.

I regularly played with characters of level 10+, my best was a fighter/cleric which I retired off when it was 13th & 14th level respectively. I don't have a set of the 2nd Edition rules anymore (in fact, 16 years ago might not even have been 2nd Edition), but there is nothing in the BG or BG2 manuals stating that constitution bonuses stop when hit die stop.
2. My party is currently carrying 6 weapons of +4 or higher, including 4 swords of which 3 are 2-handed swords. Seeing as a number of the creatures in the game can only be hit by +4 or higher weapons, if they were going to put that many +4 weapons in the game, it would have made sense to give a more even spread of weapons rather than having nearly all of them of the same type.
BTW, the last shoot-em-up I played was the original Doom, and I didn't like it (didn't need any brain cells to play).

Actually, I think the CONS bonus stop at level 10 things is in each and every BG-type game manual there is. I know for a fact that it wasn't obeyed in Icewind Dale (even though it was in the manual), but I believe it is in BG2.

I disagree that the game was angled towards fighters. BG2 immensely improved the power of the mage due to the great variety of extra spells and, of course, the higher levels you achieve (compared to BG1). I maintain a party including 4 mages, and I do fine. BG1 was a bitch to get my mage PC through, but I'm very pleased with his power in BG2.
Do paladins get extra quests and/or dialogue options or something (as you seem to suggest)?

Wrong, Mages have the most fire power avaible. There are a LOT of new spells that arent coverd in my "Dungen Master Guide". The paladins... two..no just a iquisidor in there(and a old one) if its amoen that you are thinking he is just a Fighter/Cleric that whats to be a KNIGHT in the order of the most radient heart.and they are powerful because of the Holy Aveger, if that weapon was not on the game I dont belive that so many player would add a paladin to the party.
About Multiclass kits there ARE multiclass kits and I will give some examples.
Fighter/Mage:Bladesinger,war wizard(well it on the game)
Figther/Thief:Huntsman(one that is not very good for this type of game)
Fighter/Mage/Thieft:Colector,Infiltrator.
These are elven racial multiclass kit.there are more.

I have read every page of both the hardcopy manual, and the PDF format one on my HD, and I can't find it mentioned anywhere in the manual at all.

Hey Wookie, did someone tell you to RTFM?!?
The manuals seem to neglect much and be down-right wrong on some occasions. Only in doing will you find out certain things.

You're right, I was thinking of Amonen, even if he isn't a Paladin, he acts so much like one he might as well be one.
How's this for balance in the game:-
Carsomyr, +5 2H sword usable only by Paladins is worth about 5,000GP if I try selling it.
Unholy Reaver, +5 2H sword usable only by anti-Paladins is only worth 300GP if I try to sell it to the same shop at the same time.

I quite often RTFM for games like this. In this case I RTFM to find out whether there was actually some mention of the constitution bonuses.

What reeeaally bugs me...!
... is when characters who I have to talk to to receive quests refuse to talk to me ("So-and-so is busy at the moment and cannot talk...)!!! I have to go and do something else and come back. Even then they sometimes still won't talk!! Makes my blood boil!!!

But it's usually a problem that's resolved when you run the latest patch.
