That's what I said at the end, it's classed as unathorised dealing with goods, the punishment is usually a fine or community service.

The reason it's that, is that intent is immaterial. That offence also covers doing a runner in restaurants, not paying hotels, or damaging property. (it covers up to $250)

well eather i dont know my laws very well (quite possible) or Austraila's laws are a little different (also quite possible)

Yeah, countries are unique, and states for Aus (possibly other countries).

But then again, they can be similar systems. Where are you from DR?

And the reason I know is because I've always wanted to do law... and I have my notes from last term on hand to assist me :D .

Only in high school, so it's nothing ground-breaking. Still one and a half years to go until the real stuff.

If memory serves... and it could be wrong... US is largely statute, which is what Queensland is. That differs to England, and other states of Aus.
