Nah, they've stated that they are not making SC2 yet. Hopefully Blizzard North learns to finally make a new game (all they've ever made while being part of Blizzard is Diablo). Meanwhile, Blizzard has two unannounced projects. One of them is supposed to be strongly 3D based (FPS? Too bad I haven't bought an FPS game since Doom 2), the other no public knowledge is known about.

Early September Blizzard is announcing what (at least) one of the titles is. I'd like to see an FPS based off of the old Blackthorne (whoever says Blizzard only knows RTS hasn't played this game).

Just add 1-2 years to any date that Blizzard mentions. They're famous in the business for going far, far beyond projected timelines in getting projects done. If they weren't so successful, they'd be losing quite a bit on intensive publicity (which is pretty much wasted more than six months before a project's conclusion).

Wow. This topic really took off...makes me wonder where the original poster is...and what his opinion of the little storm he's kicked up is. Ah well...Insanity is not here.

The whole Aegis/Fable/Quark interaction was fascinating. Even apart from the straight content, I especially liked the inflections you guys used to egg each other....or maybe I'm over analysing and should read less Frank Herbert.

I'd say the topic is exhausted, but i'm probably wrong.

My two cents:

Diablo II?: Great game. Fast, quick, mindlessly relaxing. Not really anything like Diablo I. Different skills, different tactics, different tone. Currently the most played multi-player game among my group of friends.
Is it a good game for *its class and genre*?: Yes. Excellent replayability, huge amounts of skills tactics and class variants to try out. The urge to find that slightly better item is ever present. Very fun multi-player.
Over-hyped?: I didn't buy it because of the hype...i wanted more of D1 and I wasn't disappointed. I don't regret my purchase...and I don't regret getting BGII and ToB either.
Should they have called it an Rpg?: Good lord, no.
Boring storyline?: In game yes, but the background was just as evocative as any number of games I've played. And I don't play it for the storyline.

'Nuff said from me - its been fun. *I* enjoyed it...which is what counts in the end. :P

Yeah, this topic is sucked dry. Time to talk about something else although this topic is the longest on this particular board. I wonder what Insanity is thinking?
