Thanks Gwally - it was the "African" thing that put me onto lemur, but I was gonna say Mongoose as soon as someone guessed. It had to be you, didn't it? :p

when BS said weasel was on the right track, i thought of ferret and mongoose. I guessed wrong and have no idea if these animals originate in africa or not. Could've sworn the mongoose antarctic. oh well.

And the mongoose may well live in Asia as well, not sure sbout Antarctica, I always thought they killed snakes :D
