Arvall & Cernd-ar
Arvall grabs the door tells Cernd-ar the plan and makes his way up the stairs. The Half-orc then throws a barrel at Arvall and his makeshift shield...

Arvall must make a constitution check in order to withstand the force of the barrel... Or perhaps something else.

Brauer

Actually, Feel free to fill in these blanks if you wish. I'll only adjust and change them if necessary for the setting.

Knowledge check passed

You deliver your well versed knowledge on Bigby and his exploits, along with his "Hand" spells. When you mention his death at the hands of the drow you look at Ariel to see her reaction, hoping not to offend. She seems uncomfortable, but not because of you. You see that Soloman has one arm wrapped around her, which seems to be the source of her unease. You might say they looked like a lover's couple but you recall that Soloman had suspicions about her being the interloper. Just what is he up to?
You continue on trying to not make it obvious that you noticed and after you finish your speech Quarion gets up. He claps profoundly, "A text book answer, very good! The next question is one that brings everyone to Morderhiem every year, even our seafaring friends.", Quarion says looking back at the sailor who cheer lightly, "... The Festival of Tiamat!", This brings even larger applause. "When was the festival first held? Why was it held? and who where the central figures in the festivals creations?"

Damage roll

It's almost 2 hours from sunset, and the day is cloudy, don't worry I'll mention it to you when the -1 attack roll takes effect.

You lunge forward with your rapier and slice under the ogre's kneecap while it is still confused...
The giant growls and swats at you with it's mighty club.

Attack 10+8=18 Miss

You boldly stand before the crushing attack, with your shield raised. The force of the attack shatters the ground beneath you as the raw energy of the attack travels through your armor... You are only mildly rattled by the attack, but think you'll dodge the next swings, if not avoid the creature all together.

Brauer Drudoc

Brauer thinks hard about this one. The festival was first held in 15 CA, on 31st of the Month of the dragon (The day it is always held).

Speaking of which I'll mention the calendar of this world.

1 Deep Winter
2 Griffon Claw
Spring Begins
3 Bright Melt
4 Treant
5 Flower Weaver
Summer Begins
6 Hunter
7 Azer (Occasionally Abberation by some backwater villages in Western Albion, because of it being called such by law by the late emperor Tinberous, who was insane.)
8 Bard
Autumn Begins
9 Leeffall
10 Reaper
11 Sinking Sun
Winter Begins
12 Dragon
Festival of Tiamat month of the Dragon 31st

"The festival was created by the current emperor Arryn, whenever he defeated the Mad emperor Tinberous saving Morderhiem from complete annihilation. The combined forces of Arryn, the free peoples and the church of Tiamat headed by Wyrmlaird Drakoj. The festival while being honorary to Tiamat was created as a single universal holiday that everyone in Morderhiem, regardless of Race, Religion or Politics is given a day relax and celebrate."
Quarion gets up and claps again. "Excellent, next question, and a toughy! What was "The Red Knight", what where they attributed to, what was the birth, fall and legacy of this figure?"

Only 2 knowledge checks may be chosen for this question...

Arvall & Cernd-ar

You repel the barrel off of your door shield having it roll over both you and Cernd-ar. You hear the half-orc curse and he sounds like he's trying to get away!

out of game: the only red knight that I know of is a deity from Forgotten realms. So im going to elaborate on this one, unless your speaking of the deity(change the roll from local to religion)

knowledge local: 11+4=15

"As the tale goes... Red knight was a human from an unknow region around 30 years ago. There is little known about him since the inquisition as represed many books that spoke of him, To my knowledge this human started gathering people from homlets and backwater towns and training them, they fought to bring back the age of heroes. His movement was succesful in Gnoll country and the Green skin kingdom, stableshing a network of resistance groups. as the tale goes the red kight even was gaining the support from a tribe of fire giants that forged him an armor made of Red dragon scales..."

Grabs a bench "May I have a glass of water?" after the drink I continue

"The red knight had taken the role of something called paladin, he was selfless and caring and forvided his army to use many cheap tricks of war, this proved to be his undoing, and being betrayed by his lover a she elf sleeper agent for the Illithids, that after gathering enough information betrayed a large gathering being lead by the knight, all the leadership of the resistance was wiped out and he was spared and humiliated by being left tied up in Rak-khatoz Citadel gate, he was then executed after 3 weeks of torture and his body left to be eaten by birds" shrugs as he remembers he would have loved to join the resistance "his resistance didnt live long after his death, only a pocket or two remain to this day in the wildlands occacionally raiding Gnoll lands" Brauer starts looking sad but he quickly hides his feelings

Since it seems like you are trapped in the vault until sunrise you decide to take an extended nap, just resting your eyes for a moment. Before long you are asleep once more...
You find yourself transported once more to the dream realm, or some remembrance of the past as you have come to figure it to be. This time you are faced with a diabolical lich Who stares you down red flames jutting from his eye sockets he stares you down and goes to claw at you when suddenly the door behind him bursts open. He spins around, ignoring you to face the corporeal threat that has entered his sanctum.
The lich's lair, from what you can tell in the dream haze, is a large dome like room with two elevations the lower one with twin semi-ciruclar staircases leading up to the upper elevation where the lich stands boldly with a putrid fountain in the centre of the room. Over head an eclipse is about to take place!
"Your rain of terror ends today Dan'Garis!", shouts the bold Gladius.
"Welcome, Welcome!", says Dan'Garis the lich looking mildly amused.
"You've come to kill me, I presume."
"You're unholy existence shall be purged from this holy place fiend!", says Theburt the cleric brandishing his holy symbol on high.
The lich only laughs, "If only you knew how trivial this entire confrontation was in the great weave of time and space, and how pathetic your wooden trinket really was."
Theburt is outraged, "How dare you blaspheme against St. Curthbert!"
Gelidia and Melkior walk in, Melkior holding a pendant in his hand, "You may find the symbol of his faith amusing, but you'll find you attitude quite different once I have plunged your precious Phylactery into your own cauldron of Chaos!"
The lich becomes excited, "Ooooh!", the lich hisses, "The cauldron of Chaos, yesss..." Dan'Garis looks into the fountain.
"It has shown me things, of a future beyond all imagination... You there, Wizard!" He says pointing down at Melkior, "You must know the power of divination! For you study the magic extensively, so have I"
"We are nothing alike!" Melkior shouts back.
"Not yet we aren't...", Then the Lich laughs while Melkior only looks back confused. "But I stand corrected... For I shall work for a god more terrible and powerful than your wretched False gods... Actually, I hold more in common with our fair paladin than anyone else! Together we shall herald in a new Dark age!" The lich continues laughing maniacly.
Galdius stands stoically against the lich's claims "Do not faulter, The demon only seeks to buy himself time with his petty lies. Charge!"
The 4 heroes break off into two groups, with Gelidia trailing behind Gladius and Melkior behind Theburt. They climb the stairs as skeletons arise to block their path.
"...And you!", Dan'Garis continues pointing at Theburt, "You shall feel the fangs of shame as your God abandons you and all you hold dear in your hour of need! Your murderer? None other than the Arch-Bishop Lazarus himself! Hahahahahahaha..."
"A man committed to peace be my demise! Ha surely you jest!" Says Theburt emboldened with new resolve as he smashes a skeleton's skull against a wall with his mace head before sending another one off the side of the stairs.
"You shall not be given the gift of death! Instead you shall all suffer eternally!" Contiues the rambling spellcaster. The heroes arrive at the top of the stairwell at the same time. The lich makes a gesture with his right hand raising it on up high in the sky, clasping down and pulling down in front of himself while uttering "Be'lok".
As he brings his arm down the heroes crumble to the ground together paralyzed. "A new age is dawning..." The lich continues the eclipse almost witihin reach. Melkior raises his head in all his effort, it appears Gelidia is fairing the best against the assault... They look into each other's eyes...
"AN AGE OF CHAOS HAS..." The lich says his voice picking up fevor.
"Now!" Melkior shouts. He slides the amulet to Gelidia, who gets up and snatches it. Melkior rolls over firing a barrage of magic missiles hitting the lich by surprise and knocking him over his skull rolling off unceremoniously and rolling against a wall.
Gelidia plunges the amulet into the fountain. "Nooooooooooo!" Shouts the Lich. The heroes get back on there feet.
"You think you have won... You have only postponed the inevitable... You halfling, shall have the worst fate of all... You shall suffer eternal shame in an immortal shelf, left to ponder your existence for the rest of time. Seeing your failure again and ...." The unholy light in the skull dims out.
There is a silence in the party as everyone looks around. They begin to smile at another victory and another glorious adventure. The silence is broken...
"Amazing, simply amazing.", Says Melkior, his eyes wide, "The lich, he spoke, knew who to cast magic, retained personality, everything..."
"What's amazing about his personality? It's nothing nearly as amazing as my own.", Says Gladius taking off his helmet polishing it and staring at his own visage.
"All the undead we have fought have been utterly mindless, barely worth the price of one's sanity for immortality... But this... Imagine what would happen if such magics could be used by the forces of good rather than by evil wizards merely wishing to cheat death, what if-" Melkior is cut off mid sentence by as Gelidia slaps him.
"You wizards are all the same! He was right about you! All you care about is power, knowledge and cheating death! You know nothing about how sacred life is! You only think about yourself and you care nothing about others!" Gelidia shouts tears rolling down her cheeks before running off.
"Gelidia!" Melkior shouts in shock.
Gladius stops him, "Don't worry about it chum! Women they're all crazy. She just needs to get it out of her system." Galdius says with a dumb smirk, "As for your question I assume most forces of good don't acquire lichdom because the rites and rituals are dubious at best..."
"What sort of rituals..." Melkior ponders aloud.
"Some secrets...", Says Theburt raising his mace up high, "Are best not known...", Theburt brings down the mace upon the skull shattering it into pieces making a hollow sound that resounds in the sanctum... Hollow like Theburt's last words... Then the dream ends.

It was actually a Religion check...However, You tell your story.
After telling his recollection of the tale the judges talk amongst themselves. Quarion gets up "Very detailed history, but you forgot some of the most pivotal moments and details. First being that of the few details we do know about Red Knight, we know for a fact from the few records that remain that SHE was a woman. Making this tactical genius especially influential & also her lesbian relationship quiet controversial. She also acceded in demi-deity hood by a deity that was called Tempus, before her betray and death at the hands. These facts alone would make her noteworthy. But of all the mentioning of the inquisition you forgot one of the minor but most interesting facts, the uncovering of her sword "Checkmate" and it's subsequent confiscation by inquisition. The fate of the sword is still unknown to this day."
Quarion looks at you and shakes his head, "I'm sorry friend, for all the amazing detail you forgot the key elements. But you still have 2 questions to go! And another doozy, but perhaps you can get it! There are Three planes of existence that run parrallel to the Material Plane, what are they and name a spell for each plan that allows you to interact with it or a phenomena related to the plane."

With his back now towards you, you can see the deep lacerations made by the strange warrior's hefty blade, and a area of skin that rotted away from what appears to be the leathery elf's mere touch!
The ogre sensing the turn in the tide of combat muster the last of it's strength, swing his club with all his might at the nearby building bringing his club against the final wooden support in the eastern end of the house.

9+8=17
Hit!
2d6+7=10+7=17!

The support crumbles and the roof slides down, all the debris on the roof begins to fall down on the group.
Make a Reflex save... or perhaps come up with an awesome plan.

Arvall & Cernd-ar

Arvall drops the door and Cernd-ar charges past him without giving him any notice. On the next floor there are 3 doors on both the left and the right hand sides and another staircase leading up. The doors were made so they are directly across from each other but the hinges are on the opposite sides making the doors open from opposite ends.
At the end of the narrow corridor you see a halfling villanger helping a wounded cultist out of a room in the far-right and up the next flight of stairs in an effort to escape. "But me more time!" The halfing shouts.
The orc retreats back towards a burly human. They both open up doors, but from opposite sides. The corridor is so narrow, that when the doors are both open, it practically forms a diagonal barricade blocking the small corridor. The orc and burly man both huddle behind their doors and hold formation.
Arvall arriving behind Cernd-ar opens up the two doors beside him, making sure there are no villangers planning to make surprises. He opens up the left door...

Spot: 11+1=12
...An spots nothing! Then he haste-fully opens up the right door, sword at the ready.
Spot: 6+1=7

Hopefully you understand the whole door business.

8 days worth of food (Max) now.
After resting peacefully and getting a decent meal in, the party notices the rumbling of the vault has ceased... There is a dead silence in the room. Azhag walks over to the door and touches it. There is a mechanical hiss as the doors unlock themselves. Azhag looks back at the two of you and shrugs, then begins pushing. And pushing. And pushing. The door swings open a crack letting in light, Azhag slumps down in victory, and then the door slowly creaks itself shut. "Wow, the doors sure have gotten heavy!"

Sorry for not having an update for Whistler! I had every intent of updating it today, just my work has been being extra brutal as of late, with 9 hour shifts of nothing but moving furniture about. So I ended up coming home and just laying down because my back and feet were SHOT. And before you know it I dozed off for several hours. Still feeling tired. :P So I don't have any map yet to show you but I'll at least give you an update!

Whistler
"But of course!", says Kelnoz, Slapping his knees and getting up. Maybe a little too fast he realizes as he winces abit in main and helps you out of the bed. You don't need to act drowsy since it appears that the blasted crown that Steeltooth put on your head has had a tremendous effect on you.
Kelnoz leads you through the giant castle, you slowly become less and less groggy as you walk through picking up more of the features of the castle as you are escorted through.
The Castle as a whole seems to be alot of twisting muscle-like columns adorned with web motifs in the corners. Mixed in with this are a bunch of real cobwebs and spiders running rampantly around. You have never felt any sort of arachnapobia in your life, but even this is excessive in your personal taste.
The Castle seems to be all made from a black and purple marble with a blue haze of magical torchlight being the primary illumination for the castle walls. You always found it interesting that of all the spells the inquistion had agreed to let the Drow keep, this was the one they chose. You assume it has something to do with the curfew and sunlight. That makes you wonder whether even royalty are subject to the curfew, and if so if penalties are lighter.
All along the castle you see the same purple guards with the same equipment layout over and over. Since you can't see the features of the drow all that well, they might as all be the same 2 drow that you saw earlier.
On your way to the dining room you see a highly ornate shrine room has been built in the centre of the floor that you live in and it appears to be the most infested area of spiders... You wonder if that's a room dedicate to spiders strictly.
You then are led down a spiralling staircase to the lower level where Kelnoz leads you to a giant dining room with a fireplace as the very end. Blue flame blazing brightly in the bizarre web-patterned grill. To the East there are a series of windows, two in a row, with purple curtains which overlook the city, but not as highly as before. You notice the castle walls are fairly thick, being roughly 20 feet of solid stone.
Kelnoz pulls out your chair and you are seated, the black iron chair is cold against your skin and the table is just as cold. Kelnoz looks at you hands behind his back, "Did you have any meal in particular that you wished for, Mistress Ariel?"

I do this more of trying to protect the students than anything else.

I mention that the planes that generaly overlap with the prime are the ethereal plane, the shadow plane and the astral plane, I mention the common ways to pass between planes,"etherealness" "astral projection" and "Shadow walk" this planes can also be access more establely and for prolonged times by creating a portal, but such things are expensive and forbidden by the inquisition

Whistler-

Just an out of game note. I'm going to be using a lot of half truth statements; basically statements twisted to my specifications so that they are technically true and don't merit a bluff roll, but if you ever feel it's an outright lie what I say, feel free. You'll see what I mean in a moment.

"Hmm, so a man named steeltooth put the crown on me and it affected my memories...

What a ghastly and barbaric name, who would name themselves that? Then again, maybe he has a steel tooth and is simply a pragmatist, though that would be redundant and equally idiotic..."

OOG- I know steeltooth and know why all this happened, but never outright said "I don't know steeltooth," and simply stated and asked things in rhetoric. Basically what I mean by "Half truth."

I follow him to the kitchen, keeping a keen eye on the many corridors and doorways, as well as people walking around (if any). As we go, I play off nostalgia and pretend my memory is slowly returning...

"This place is so...familiar. I know I've been here before and yet...I can't seem to remember very much of anything. But I do think I remember one thing.

I have two sisters...Siph or saph or something, and Mel'Arnach. I'm not sure why I can't remember the first one's name, but I know she's strong like her..." I correct myself, "Our mother. And I can -only- remember the other one's name, and nothing else."

Once in the kitchen, I answer his question-

"I trust you, surprise me," I say, taking yet another gamble.

Khannon-

I give Azhag a hand. "Hmph, didn't think doors that small could really be heavy but then this place is already screwy enough, more than possible I guess."

OOG- Not sure how long we rested but with the basic rules, I heal 3 hit points every 8 hours of uninterrupted rest, based on my level that is. So how many hit points would you say I healed?

Cernd-ar's pursuit turns into almost madness when he catches a glimpse of the (wounded) cultist. He does not slow down at all. With all of his rage, anger, fury and strength he leads with his shield and tries to simply smash through the two *interior* doors that have been opened into the hallway, against him (i.e. crazed-induced running charge into them).

ToDM: please note that if Cerndar is capable of breaking through, he will not waste any time with the burly man or the half-orc who tried to block the corridor. Cernda-ar is in hot pursuit of the cultist now and will do everything to try close the distance and make an attack of opportunity. If that means swing his flail at the ankle of the fleenig cultist...or trying to trip him up by his robes...whatever it takes. Hopefully Arvall can/will keep the others off me from behind.
