What Do You Want in KotOR III?
The thing that makes Kotor one of the best star wars games is the lack of star wars characters from the movie. giving it a setting way before the movies gives tonnes of room for the developer to move. Besides the movie characters can easily be replaced by characters that are similar. Look at all the characters and they kind of represent the original movie characters in a way.

That is very true. In fact, the game will look awkward if characters from the movies make an appearance in the KOTOR series. They could get the actors who acted in the Star Wars movies to voice characters in the KOTOR series (well, not all of them, just some).

''They say truth is the first casualty of war. But who defines what's true? Truth is just a matter of perspective. The duty of every soldier is to protect the innocent, and sometimes that means preserving the lie of good and evil, that war isn't just natural selection played out on a grand scale. The only truth I found is that the world we live in is a giant tinderbox. All it takes...is someone to light the match" - Captain Price
Not exactly the main actors. Could be the actors who take on more of a side role in the Star Wars movies. Take for example Temuera Morrison. He voice acted in Republic Commando and it really suited him in the role of 'Boss' (or 38 as he is called), leader of the Clone Commandos. That guy could voice act someone in a commanding role or something similar.
Another good example is Ed Asner. Yeah, he is from Star Trek but his voice acting in both KOTORs were superb and really suit Master Vrook's character.

Voice actors from the movies wouldn't be bad, as long as they aren't that recognizable as lead characters of the movies, as previously stated.
Another thing that would be good to see (or at least refreshing) would be the addition of an R2 unit. Not nessissarily R2-D2, that would bring up too many questions, but still, an R2 over the old T3 unit would be nice.
Also, the old "flourish weapon" scene could use a tuneup, like the more you press it the more s/he does, like maybe around the back, or something, anything more than just the left-to-right thing we have now. And just in case anyone says anything about "well, it might interfere w/ the environment, like it might go thru a wall or party member if they move too much" or to that effect, I'll say this: you can do that already w/ what we have now. I often do that, pause, and save so I can look at it later and laugh.
I've already made my point on other things that should be fixed, no point in repeating myself again.

ahhh
This is very very off topic but it's annoying me so much that I have to say it.
Why, for some reason, are you so special in the KOTOR games? In k1, on korriban you didnt get the sith uniform like everybody else did, also why are you always a late addition or a last minute addition to the crew roster (taris) Or on mannan you can look nothing like a jedi yet the republics still call you Master Jedi!!! Again on mannan why won't the sith recruiters recruit you? On tatooine, why is it that you happen to come when that hunter is hunting the Krat Drygon? In K2 how does the TSF know you just came from Peragus. Why do you come just in time to pick up the Droid Intellegence? Why can't you kill Viasis? Why can't you Enlinst in the sith empire!??! Or Republic for that matter! There's so many things that I could say I can't possibly list them all.
So,all im saying is WHY ARE YOU SO DANG SPECIAL?!?! WHY CAN'T YOU JUST BE NORMAL FOR A CHANGE?!?!

They explained the paragous thing, I think, in KOTOR II, but the other stuff I've thot myself, like even if my face is covered, my true idenity is still discovered. Gets annoying if you're trying to hide, maybe they'll fix that in the next one, but I doubt it, it's not as big as some of the other glitches they accidently left in for KOTOR II.

Thats because the main characters in both Kotor games are special lol. You could argue that all of that is due to the force being so strong in you etc. Its really no different to the films, they are full of coincidences and being in the right place at the right time. The whole point of Kotor 1 is that you are Revan, who you have to say is a pretty special person. The whole point of Kotor 2 is that you are the Exile, again a pretty special person.

Bah, I still think that the next one should have the main characterbe a little less special. The whole your one Sith/Jedi that can change the face of the galaxy isn't getting old but IS old.
How about your more less imporntant you you work with a team in order to complete objectives...I remeber in k2 once i reached level 15 I didn't even need my party that's just how *special* I was.

Tiny detail, just thought I'd throw it out there, cuz I know we've all thought this at one time in one of the 2 games: when you have your lightsaber out in a dark area, wouldn't it be like a flashlight? In the last 2 games there was no difference when you used it in dark areas. Maybe they could fix that in the next one. Just a small thing to add.

I agree with you, Zander. It will be cool for a lightsaber to emit a glowing effect when venturing into dark corners and places.

What I want in SW KOTOR III
Characters:The only thing I want is more characters. I'd very much like to choose from more companions to add. Also, I'd like to have an ability to resist a character, or remove someone eternaly from my party. Also, I'd like to take more than just two characters with me. Maybe there should be scenes where all party fights at one time. this would be wonderfull.
Places: I'd like theese planets to be:
Corruscant
Tatooine
Korriban
Geonosis
Kashyyyk
Maybye Kamino before the cloning was started.
I'd very much like to choose my race. Like on DS I'd like to be an Irridonian (like Bao-Dur or Darth Maul). And an improved character modification more body options and face options. Also more jedi robes (I'd like to vear Revans robe myself).
Planets should be bigger and there should be more interactive objects. It would be fun to fight in a tight corridor and leave marks on walls.
Also, how the hell the lightsaber can cut through metal doors, but I keep cuttin' a soldier and he's still in one piece?
There should be masks. Like Darth Nihilus' (KOTOR II). And an ability to modify robes' look. Like I add an overlay of somekind and the collor changes or somethin' like that. Same thing to lightsabers and weapons.
The storyline should be interactive too, not like in KOTOR II when I keep doin soethin, but it doesn't affect the storyline, just the dialoges. It really annoys me.
And the main character should have a voice already!!! And I'd like to see more CG movies during the game. They're perfect.
Well, I could write and write, but enough for now.

I agree. But we must understand that this is a video game, not real life something i just realized. No matter how hard developers try we will always find flaws. Now if they could incorperate the ideas that we have into games we would truely have video entertaiment heaven.

If a soldier would be cut in 2 pieces in one strike, than it would'nt be very usefull to make it a turnbased roleplaying game instead of a full-action role-playing game.

Okay, I've been away for a little while and I'm still trying to catch up.
First, the places that people suggest are fine and not hard to implement. Next, I'm fairly sure that the reason that they didn't have voices for Revan and Exile are because they refer to their name and that's just hard to implement. Especially when considering that I'm always playing as Tovec and I'd bet that 80% of you say it wrong.
As far as Revan and Exile in KOTOR III they should be shown but not play an important part. As far as how they look and/or are they should be either created by you (at some point) or previously determined by the makers of the game. Yes it will be dissappointing if we are told who Revan and Exile are instead of we tell the game but at least then they can come to some arrangement. Either way storywise they could make Revan and Exile neutral. I think they should have it that Exile dies saving Revan. Then make Revan neutral because if he was good that he lost all his ideals fighting True Sith and if he was evil then the same.
Last, let me try to explain this as simply as I can. Evil and Chaos are not the same thing. Good and Law are not the same thing. If law said that an innocent person had to die to remove a bad one then how is that good?
In the Star Wars Universe think of it this way: Obi-Wan was Chaotic - as in didn't follow rules and did what he wanted, but he was good - because he always helped people. Very few Sith - in the movies - were Chaotic - did as they wanted - and Evil - well Evil d'uh. They were instead Lawful - following rules be them Sith code - and Evil. Yoda on the other hand was Lawful and Good because he always thinking of the deep force instead of always fighting bad all the time. I'm just saying there are different levels of Evil and Good but in KOTOR (2 more then 1) they were always portrayed that if you did what was expected then you were Good and whatever whenever then Evil.
Let me remind you that Darth Vader fell by doing what he was told.

Bao-Dur: I think he wanted us to give up the Genreal to his poorly trained collection of bounty hunters.
Atton: Ah. well that would explain it. Which one do you want?
Bao-Dur: I'll take the stupid one who decided to threaten us rather than shoot us when he had the chance.

I agree with all you said and how about you fighting in a battle without being in charge of the whole army? I think that quests should be timed as well. I mean how can you fly off some planet, change the course of hisory for centuries to come and come back to complete a smugling mission for some small-time criminal?

Hi,
First of all, welcome back, though I don't really know you since I've signed up quite late.

I don't think that impossible, in my opinion. There are some open-ended games that have main characters that can speak, so I don't see how that's impossible to implement in the game. Anyway, I'm begining to get tired of seeing main characters as mutes in a couple of games that I've played most notably, Half Life 1 & 2, Doom 3 and other titles.

agreed. i hate choosing things to say but they aren't "said", and not having my name said. i admit, it'd be hard to have a customized name said in actual voice instead of only aliens saying your name because they talk in blah-blah languages that nobody understands anyway. so why not at least have your name said if you click the "Random Name" button during creation. and as you said Des, i think the main character should actually talk. Example:
1. I'd be glad to help.
2. What's in it for me?
3. Get out of my way before slowly dismember one limb at a time.
**Pick option 1**
Main character says out loud: "I'd be glad to help."
This way all your party members and other people you talk to don't seem like mind readers.

Suggestions I have
other things i wouldn't mind seeing in the game (sorry if any is a repeat. haven't read all 44 pages of quotes):
some new plantes as well as old ones. get rid of some though. some like dantooine. as Carth said, Dantooine's a boring place (or was it Canderous that said that? not 100% sure).
wouldnt mind seeing vehicles or ridable creatures for extra speed. whoopdie doo i have master speed. doesn't make me any faster than burst of speed does, and it still takes me forever to get from point a to point b on huge maps. and dont make dumb creatures if its going to be creatures (such as the thing that the jawas were swinging from in ep 4. if theres going to be any tatooine creatures, only thing i want is krayt dragon. sure its unrealistic for 1 to be tamed to the point of riding it, but then again so is missing doors when you "bash" em with blaster bolts or stabbing/slicing a door/footlocker with a lightsaber and not insta-killing enemies)
