Cernd-ar & Arvall
Cernd-ar and Arvall run down the narrow Corridor. Cernd-ar charges past Arvall and attempts to smash through.

Strength Check
D20+2+2(Charge bonus)=8+4=12
Vs.
D20+4=20+4=24

-2 AC for first round of combat attempting a crazed charge,

Cernd-ar's fit of rage is brought to a halt as he slams against one of the doors simply having no effect against the impenetrable blockade! Arvall now reaches the the blockade from the other end and thrusts his blade forward hoping to kill the person on the other side of the door!
His blade smashes thought the wood and a howl of pain can be heard. You draw you blade now covered in blood and kick the door smashing it into the burly man's face as he is on the ground. His right hand is severed from mid palm up leaving only a twitching thumb attached to the appendage. With the door smash you manage to knock the bleeding man out cold.

Khannon, Rhag'nuul & Azhag

Khannon by this time will have regained all his HP. with 2 days rest, one of which being almost a full 24 hours of either sleeping or minimal activity.

Khannon goes over and begins to push the door with Azhag. He privately admits that it has gotten abit heavier than before, although he won't mention it to the group aloud as he swings the door open, you notice as your arms leave the vault barrier you no longer push forward against the door, but now push up. The weight of the door pressing down against you.
You push the door open and reveal a bright sky with blinding light flooding into the vault.

Rhag'nuul must make a reflex save to dodge the sudden stream of light!

Regardless of the result Rhag'nuul curses the blasted sun raining it's malevolent rays down from it celestial throne. The wave of heat gushes in from the outside barrens, you forgot how hot the wastelands were having spent time in the darkness of the vault.

Khannon Listen 6+2=8
Rhag'nuul Listen 5+2=7 (wow very similar rolls.)

Both Khannon and Rhag'nuul hear something from outside the vault. Rhag'nuul asks Azhag to scout out the situation for them. Azhag walks towards the entrance and uses the one closed door to act as a ledge to pull himself up once he leaves the vault. Upon getting up he walks off and out of sight... When he returns he looks somewhat pale...
"You're not going to like where we've landed...", He states flatly, "We're only a few miles away from an exceptionally large gnoll camp, the savages haven't seen me, and don't know we're here yet... But!", The goblin says his voice gaining panic, ", Like all uncultured races they are attracted to shiny objects, and when a giant shiny drill spirals out of the ground next to your tribe, well you obviously bring out your finest to check it out... Seeing as they're no exception they've just sent a warband heading this way, and they'll be upon us within the hour."

Jarrackt
You performed it well.
You dive out of the way of the falling debris which allows you to avoid being crushed, but the falling building brings up a giant cloud of dust. Which blinds you and try and clear your eyes.
When the dust settles all that remains is the strange warrior, who is busy clearing his eyes and the strange elf who has moved several feet east and it standing beside a skeleton of the ogre. You suddenly notice that the elf has no feet and that the bottom of his robe just mysteriously floats about.
The Elf spins and looks back at you and simply waves once, "I see you still are among the land of the living! How goes it armoured one?"

Whistler

"Very well", Say Kelnoz with a bow and a hand over his breast. He makes his leave, you consider possibly taking this time to leave but remember that outside of the room are two guards positioned, which seems to be the way with most of the room in this blasted castle. If you ever managed to get a hold of one of their suits of armor, along with a spear and repeater crossbow you would be practically indistinguishable from the legion of patrolling soldiers in the castle.
Within a matter of minutes, several servants arrive, they bring you a 3 course meal. There is a thick purple soup, a slice of what appears to be steak and gourmet bread with the centre cut out and what looks like mashed potatoes, but most likely is some other food.

Knowledge local 9+6=15

You identify the meat as "Rothe" Steak. Rothe being a sort of sub-terran cow you herd that some slaves are often sent to tend to. You never had that before since it's a meal saved only for higher-income drow families.
You figure the mashed potato substitute is mashed ghey mushroom, a bland but filling foodstuff. The soup you have no clue about. You notice under the soup bowl the napkin has some sort of stain on it.

Spot 12+2=14

You can't make out what it is but you know it's important. Kelnoz sits down at the opposite end of the table and begins trying to converse with you as you eat. "So I see that you are starting to recall names... Did you know Mel'Arnach left the family a little before you were born? Any ideas on why you remember her?", Kelnoz asks uninterestedly. You sense an unease pass through the room as the other servants quickly vacate the room.

"Blasted demons we need to take the cultist now!" I rush after cernd ar, once I reach the barricade I try to pierce the door that the burly man is holding with my shortsword "DIE!!" 14+5=19 1d6+3= 2+3=5

Brauer Drudoc

Quarion applauds, "A sound answer, the final question and the hardest. You spoke of the remnant tribes of the Red Knight that have established a few settlements in Eastern Albion. In this region their is a law, which only sons of great warlords pass among themselves. I wasn't even aware that such a law existed until It was brought to my attention in the developing of this questionnaire... Without further ado, What is "The Riddle of Steel"?

Only one knowledge check may be chosen for this, if you choose the wrong one you simply do not get the bonuses but the roll remains....

Khannon-

Reflex-
1d20+5
1+5 = 6

(Ouch...this could be bad)....

"Gah! Curse this light...

Gnolls? One or two at a time aint so bad, but a whole tribe? Even if they only sent their elites, direct confrontation would very likely be lethal."

Whistler-
"So I see that you are starting to recall names... Did you know Mel'Arnach left the family a little before you were born? Any ideas on why you remember her?"
"It may have been a name I heard in passing, or read about. As I said, I know nothing of her other than the name itself...

Why did she leave?"

When the servants vacate the room and it's just me and him, I take another potentially dangerous step-

"May I ask you a question? Something of a philosophical one...and I would like this kept in confidence, if you would"

If he says he will (and Sense Motive Roll to see if he's lying- 1d20+5
17+5 = 22)-

"I'm only starting to remember bits and pieces of things I supposedly once knew without ever having to even think about it; but now that I am having to try and remember...I want to ask not what, but why.

Not to appear stubborn or self centered but I want to know why I should want to remember some things. The queen....she terrifies me and I haven't the faintest clue who she is other than what I am able to deduce, I have no memories of her specifically other than what I've experienced today.

Why am I to become a priestess, have I ever expressed any interest in some other profession, am I even allowed to think of any others? Forgive me, it's not as though I don't -want- to go through the initiation, it just feels like I've jumped into all of this without knowing who I am and why I am the way I am.

I wonder if that even makes any sense...perhaps I'm speaking in tongues or I'm simply in denial from having this much memory loss; but I'll give you an example. I'm assuming that before my memories were lost, I was quite willing and excited to go through this priestess initiation, and simply accepted that it is my place and you have yours. However, now, with absolutely no context, I'm not sure there is any reason that you should not become a priest yourself, or maybe I could do something according to my own will. It doesn't seem as though I have a choice in the matter anymore."

If he says he won't/can't keep it in confidence, or I feel that my question is better left unsaid through my sense motive roll, I instead say-

"Perhaps another time, it was a fickle thought, and I could just be overthinking my memories."
"Blasted demons we need to take the cultist now!" I rush after cernd ar, once I reach the barricade I try to pierce the door that the burly man is holding with my shortsword "DIE!!" 14+5=19 1d6+3= 2+3=5
OOG- I'm going to assume this quote from Kozeph wasn't meant to be apart of my section...

"Thanks for your assistance. I didnt think i was going to make it out that one alive. Not very well I arrived here with the town being attacked. Then my friend Frederick got killed by an ogre. Now im looking for someone. Do you know of a wizard nearby that was cast out of the town not too long ago? It would be a great help if you knew anything." Then begins to wonder "How do things fare for you two?"

Cernd-ar & Arvall

Arvall attempts to attack the half-orc but the orc begins closing the door making the barricade move into the right angle quick enough to block your attack. Your blade slices up the wooden door and the half-orc kicks the door wide and goes to grapple you to the ground.

Arvall can make an attack of opportunity.

Brauer Drudoc
You simply shrug, you honestly have no idea about 'The riddle of steel', it's solution or even what the question is.
Quarion smiles, "Don't feel bad it's completely obscure nobody should know the answer except for the lineage of warlords, and the Inquistor Bathazar Ghelt could deduce. For all those curious the riddle of steel is 'What is the true strength of Steel?'". Quarion waits a bit for suspense purposes, "The true strength lies in the hand the weilds it. Thus the resolve of an individual far outweighs the tools, as far as they were concerned."
Quarion nod back at the judges, "For this round Brauer get 12/20 points!"
You don't wait for your escort as you walk yourself back to your booth and await for the final trial. After a few moments of waiting you are escorted out of your booth.
The judges are speechless, Quarion clears his throat, "A perfect score of 20/20... I'm amazed. Well the judges have talied the scores to see if the final challenge is necessary... Since the final challenge can have only 1 winner and is worth 20 points..."
"Brauer has 55 points while Cid has 50. It's a close call, this will be the final challenge. The magic duel. This was an ancient ritual performed back in the age of heroes to determine between friendly spellcasters who the better offensive magician was in a non-lethal way. The two spell caster stand in a special defensive bubble which nullifies magic so that it can't escape from the ring and all magic within the ring is non-lethal. Even spells which normally kill outright are non-lethal..."
"I don't know", says Soloman interupting, "Don't both parties need to be able to cast spells naturally, without aids?"
"...Don't underestimate me yet young maester.", Says Cid shaking his head, "I may not go prancing around flinging spells every which way, but I am indeed a spellcaster."
There is a rise of whispers in the auditorium. You never knew Cid could actually cast magic, you knew that he spent much of his time studying it and building magic devices, but had never seen him cast a single spell in his life that wasn't in a wand, scroll or other trinket.
"Well, let us begin...", Quarion says and the crowd roars...

You are set up in the ring...
You concentrate on your location in the weave, and feel the nullifying barrier shift the fabric of magic in the area. You then feel yourself being dragged 25 feet apart from eachother... Smaller barrier form around you and Cid...

Effect of mageduel
After rolling initiative you have 3 rounds to cast spells that only effect yourself, this may include resistance, invisibility and so on.
All damage done in a mageduel is subdual damage and all attacks do half damage rounded down (This includes damage done by summoned creatures).
Attacks that do ability drain, still do so, but only make someone unconscious when they reach 0, and after such the score returns to the minimum required to keep them alive.
Lethal attacks, attacks that kill a spell caster outright, such as Finger of death, Word of Death and disintegrate deal subdual damage and wipes out hp according to half max hp of the target.
You may not leave the magic circle or else you considered to have forfeited.
No outside magic can enter the circle, it simply disipates, similarly no magic may leave the circle.
Normally you are allowed to have familiars in a mage duel, but not for this occassion due to the tournament.

Cid's initiative roll 12+1=13

Khannon, Rhag'nuul and Azhag

Don't worry Syb Khannon didn't need a reflex save, just Rhag'nuul.

Whistler

Kelnoz becomes somewhat grim as he talks about Mel'Arnach.
"Let me tell you a story... A story about your sister... A story about the divine beauty that was Mel'Arnach. Mel'Arnach was possibly the best of us all ... I think even Lady Quain'tana realized deep down in her heart that she would one day have to surrender the crown to her. She possessed all the traits of a fine ruler, resolve, intelligence, divine knowledge, and she was no slouch with the blade either. Probably the only one of us to best even Sil'lice.", He chuckles with a mild nostalgia, "We even felt that she had the very divine favor of Lolth on her side, but as you know the spider queen is as cruel as she is cryptic. That's why it came as a huge shock when Lolth rejected her at her initiation service..."
There is a deathly silence in the room as he gets up and looks out the window, hands behind his back.
"She may no longer be part of the family... but a part of her still resides in these walls. I see her all the time...", a small smile tugs at the side of his mouth as he stares off in space.
You continue your meal for awhile wishing not to disturb his daydream. Finally you ask for permission to ask the philosophical question.
He says he will, he seems more intrigued than scheming at the moment, so you continue.
Kelnoz nods, "You know this isn't the first time we've discussed this..."
Kelnoz spins around and looks at you, he looks down at you while standing up trying to measure your worth.
"The logical answer would be if you didn't your mother would sell you into prostitution, or possibly worse... I guess that's one thing that woman has learned how to do most effectively on a battlefield. It takes one type of woman to kill a person, it takes an entire different calibre of woman altogether to destroy a soul."
"I have a philosophical question I want to ask you... If you could leave this place and didn't need to be a priestess, what would you do?"

Jarrackt
The elf shrugs with a stupid grin, "Eh? The usual picked up some new friends from across the globe, like Ling-Mao from Xing...", the elf points to the armored warrior, who upon hearing his name stands up right and says "O'iac" with a smile.
"...then transported myself around Dunfall for kicks, and to feed my new partner in crime. Get chased out of town because I decided to just create a meal with magic rather than pay the inn keeper's outrageous prices. That's the real crime here. Now I'm going to save the day, followed up by being chased out again, care to join in?"

Well....cool then. No Ref for me! :P

Whistler-

"I'm not entirely sure, the freedom to do as I wish, it's definitely an abstract thought..." I ponder for a moment and continue with a hint of innuendo to Kelnoz, "However...if I had even a remote chance of having that freedom, if the Spider Queen weren't 'in the way' of that, I would take it."

Rhag'nuul must make a reflex save to dodge the sudden stream of light!
17+5 = 22
"You're not going to like where we've landed...", He states flatly, "We're only a few miles away from an exceptionally large gnoll camp, the savages haven't seen me, and don't know we're here yet... But!", The goblin says his voice gaining panic, ", Like all uncultured races they are attracted to shiny objects, and when a giant shiny drill spirals out of the ground next to your tribe, well you obviously bring out your finest to check it out... Seeing as they're no exception they've just sent a warband heading this way, and they'll be upon us within the hour."
"Azhag, is it still our realm? Are these the same gnolllands you spoke of earlier??? Can you tell?"

[Ragh'nuul discusses the options with Khannon and Azhag...

1. Ragh'nuul can cast magical darkness for a 10 minute span...asks Azhag if he sees any natural shelter they might reach within sight and the spell's duration of where the vault shifted to

2. The option exists to retreat back into vault and its trapped floors. The gnolls are undoubtedly too stupid to navigate them. But then it's a matter of survival and an audit of the group's remaining rations should be done

3. Simply risk fleeing from the vault, but Rahg'nuul will slow them down considerably as he must keep his head down and tucked deep within the hood of his cloak. Again, he will be essentially blind and helpless to engage in combat out there]

"Move!, take out the cultist before he recovers!" I shout at the stunned Cernd ar "Ill handle de orc spawn" I jump forward and over the handless man striking at the half orc
Cernd-ar struggles to his feet and tries to quickly regain his focus. Thanks to Arvall's handiwork,at least half of the corridor barricade should offer little or no resistance at this point.

Cernd-ar continues his pursuit as best he is able, but has no line of sight with the cultist any longer. He moves to climb the next staircase and, at the top landing, surveys his surroundings for signs of movement or sounds of escape

"So...if we stay here, we'll probably die. If we leave, we'll probably die....

I say we might as well make the best of this unfortunate situation and continue exploring the vault, and find that hidden staircase mentioned by Fleetfingers. If we go down deep enough and survive, I agree that the Gnolls would be too stupid to follow, and by night time, they'll be likely to have given up, allowing us the chance to escape."

With that Kelnoz simply nods and walks towards the door. "I'll let you have the rest of the day to yourself. I'm going to be heading into town, but I assume that the guards will be under orders to keep you inside the castle for today at least. Hopefully your memories return." Then he leaves the room.

Map coming soon, possibly tonight.

Jarrackt

"Well, I will have no problem going over and cleaning up their mess, but 50 gold pieces say that they'll immediately ready their bows against us. For me, that won't be a problem, but I can't ensure the safety of you two... and as long as you're running around with me you'll be getting targeted by just about every inquisitor and bounty hunter in Albion.", Says the elf looking down the path southward, "So that leaves us with one of three options the way I see it... you can just go on your merry way and not get involved, or you can take care of Ling-mao after I've finished rescuing the townsfolk, the final option is I could transport the two of you to a far off safe location of your choosing if you wish.", The elf stops for a moment, "You're a knight correct? Shouldn't you be reporting back to your order about the faulering of the northern defences of the city? Also did they just send you and this Frederick fellow, usually knights come in groups of 4-8, sometimes a warband with a single knight or at least have a local militia, under their command."

Arvall & Cernd-ar

Arvall slashes the half-orc to ribbons as the half-orc tried to tackle him. The half orc dies, slumping to the ground helplessly as Arvall stands triumphant at the bottom of the stairs. By this time the one civilian has helped the cultist to the top of the stairs. He looks back and see that both his friends are dead and a crazed priest is coming up the stairs after him. He quickly grabs a lantern hanging from the wall and smashes it against the top set of the stairs catching them ablaze quickly. Cernd-ar rushes up to the midway point of the stair and by this point the flames a still small enough to jump over, altchough Arvall will need to find a way to put them out or get up another way. Cernd-ar is amazed at how much smoke the miniature fire has produced and it seems to have started obscuring the top floor. That's when the final villager lunges himself off the stairs and over the flames at Cernd-ar.

19+0=19
vs
Cernd-ar AC 18

Subdual damage
1d4=4 (amazing rolls for a villager)

Falling damage for peasant
1d6=3

Cernd-ar is hit by the flying villager and while more startled than hurt he feels himself begin to fall. The peasant hits the stairs breaks his arm on the way down tumbling into a heap at the bottom, but still alive.

Balance check or some other skill check to deal with falling down the stairs.

Brauer Drudoc

One last element I forgot about a mageduel, not to critical now, but important if you ever choose to initiate one in the future. After a person has cast a spell, the defender may make a spellcraft check. If successful, this will then identify the spell for you and if the spell is a spell meant to attack or cause an effect on the defender themselves and you have the spell or an opposite spell of equal or stronger level (Nullify an icebolt with a fireball let's say) you can cast a counter spell as a swift action during the enemy's turn. This doesn't work if it effects the environment, summons, divines or enchants the spellcaster themselves. So for example casting grease on Cid could be countered but casting grease in front of Cid wouldn't.

You may make spellchecks during the 3 initial "power-up" rounds but you
can't counter them until the mage duel actually begins.

It should be mentioned though that since you are invisible he can't get spellchecks since he can't see you.

Also invisibility is good, but just remember the limitations of the spell.

You begin the duel by pulling out an eyelash from your face and combining it with some treesap in your spell components pouch. With a whisper of the magic words you disappear! Next, you wait silently and await to see Cid's course of action.
Cid looks pained to have to use actual magic, but then his eyes spring wide and he prepares two wands. The first wand is the wand with the candle end end that you've seen him use before to summon up animals, but the other wand is something completely different. It's the bright crimson wand with silver ends that Byggvir told you about.
He patiently awaits and then the forcefield drop. You waste no time at all, you toss a femur that you had held in your hand at Cid. The bone suddenly appears as it leaves your touch and materializes into a Ghoul at Cid's feet. The hunched over fiend attempts to bite Cid.

8+2=10
vs
11
Cid barely manages to back away from the ghoul in time to avoid getting bitten. His sleeve tears off into the corpses' putrid mouth. "That was my new robe!" Cid shouts angerly, "Have at you!"
Cid makes an arcing swing with his crimson wand, which in mid air materializes into a flaming blade!

Use magic device:14+8=22
Vs
14
1d8+1=4+1=5 50%=2
The Ghoul howls in pain as the flaming blade cuts through it's rotting ribs and sets it on fire. Then the ghoul looks back at Cid with malice in it's eyes hoping to strike once more before it's time is through.

Your turn once more.

Khannon, Rhag'nuul & Azhag
Rhag'nuul manages to roll out of the way an in behind a column as the light streams into the vault.
He then asks Azhag, "Azhag, is it still our realm? Are these the same gnolllands you spoke of earlier??? Can you tell?"
"To be honest", Azhag tries to explain, "The entire badlands belong to the gnolls there are only a few civil areas and even those areas are dens of corruption run by thieves. Then of course there's Overdark but I refuse to go there. As for what I can imagine I guess this vault only uproots itself in the badlands of Eastern Albion, if it didn't orcish people would have definitely known about this ages ago, someone would have reported a giant drill magically appearing by day and disappearing by night. In the badlands there is very little in the way of identifying features to go by unless you are closer to the Western border of Albion where you'll start encountering more vegetation and less gnolls."

Azhag continues, almost rambling now, "Gnolls here, they're disorginized and they'res literally hundreds of small tribes. Some vary marginally, some by large gaps, and there's no rhyme or reason to it. Some camps are inches away from eachother and vastly differ while other are on opposite ends of the continent and share similar lifestyles. They only share 2 things in common, they're uncivil and they mostly speak gnollish."

"The less organized the better. That usually indicates a lack of combat or military training, which means they are likely to be on par with us, as opposed to vastly stronger...theoretically anyways," Khannon says.

"However, I still think we should avoid doing anything out there until later in the evening, no need for an unnecessary risk like that. We might as well finish exploring this blasted Vault, no?"

"I am a knight. Well to be honest Frederick and I completed training then our mentor took off. We started off looking for the Green Knight and ended up here. I would be glad to assist you and take care of Ling-Mao. Does he speak common?"

Arvall Marsharness

"Great" he smiles bitterly at the scene, "ohh im gonna regret this" I curse at fate, I quickly take off my cloak and throw it on top of the fire and start stepping on it, hopefully this should put out the fire.

Brauer Drudoc

I draw a pouch from my many pockets and take a bit of colored sands(red, blue and yellow) I throw it on the air and shout "may this brighten your day!" I cast "Color spray"

DC 10+2+4=16

EDIT: I order the Ghoul to make one last desperate strike at Cid and ignore the flaming blade
Have you seen my brain around here? No? well in case you see it its brainy and squishy looking. If you see it let me know

Cernd-ar is hit by the flying villager and while more startled than hurt he feels himself begin to fall. The peasant hits the stairs breaks his arm on the way down tumbling into a heap at the bottom, but still alive.

Balance check or some other skill check to deal with falling down the stairs.
It's going to be tough to pass a balance check with all this armor but here goes...

"However, I still think we should avoid doing anything out there until later in the evening, no need for an unnecessary risk like that. We might as well finish exploring this blasted Vault, no?"
"(sigh) I really don't want to go back down there because I think the peril is significant but, more importantly, I think the prize is gone. However, I agree we cannot just wait up here for the gnoll hordes to show up. And I can't flee right now".

[Rahg'nuul pulls out all of the journal notes they've collected thus far, reviews them quickly, checks his gear and leads the party to NE corner of the room...waiting for the shifting to reveal the staircase down....once more]

"There's no guarantee Khannon that the gnolls won't set up camp here in this vault. They may still be here when we try to resurface. I suppose we'll just have to deal with that in its proper time, should it come to pass".

ToDM: Can you please advise if the vault structure landed properly this time? (i.e. fully upright?). When we first found it, it was leaning in the sand on a >45 degree angle. Azhag should know as he's already opened the doors to peer out. The reason I am asking is that the vault (where we are) is at the very top of this gigantic structure. I seriously doubt that that the gnolls have a way to scale up to this height...or for us to scale down. Please advise.

The Elf, rubs his barren chin, " 'The Green knight' eh? Hehe that brings back memories, people are always trying to win a lance from him it seems. I could send you to the proper forest to face him, but whether you can find him, let alone defeat him, depends upon you. How about that exchange, you take care of Ling-Mao I'll transport you both to the forest."
"There are a few things you should know though before you shake on it...", the elf says outstretching his leather clad hand, "First of which he doesn't speak common. He only speaks Vulcarian. He also is from Xing so he knows nothing about the customs of Albion, so it'll be up to you to make sure he doesn't get himself into trouble. He not a dullard or mean spirited by any means he just doesn't know our customs. He also refuses to use his left hand for anything, It's not a Xing custom, it's something specific to him. I've asked before and he says his honour depends on it. But his versatility and combat prowess more than make up for that."

I managed to get A map done (of 4), and you're character has finally recoverred from their dizzyness you can begin to search around the area.

Arvall & Cernd-ar

Arvall jumps over the crippled man at the bottom of the stairs, and begins running up the stairs...

I'm going to wait and see what occurs to Cernd-ar before proceeding on.

Brauer

Brauer breaks his invisibility and casts color spray and Cid looks over at the powder in mid-air as the spell shifts into action and trys to analyze it...

SpellCraft:1+4=9 Fumble!
Will save 15+3=18 vs 16 Success

Cid's vision is hit full on by the colorful rays, thankfully for Cid his vision is pretty much shot in his old age, and gives out from time to time. Luckily for him it was one of thos times, so the effect doesn't blind him like it should. But the distraction is enough for the ghoul to launch another biting attack, it's lower part of it's body already deteriorating from the spells limited effects.

14+2=16
vs
11 Hit!

1d6+1=6+1=7 50% 7 = 3

Paralysis
8+4=12 vs 15
1d4=4
Paralyzed for 4 rounds.

Ghoul Fever
16+3=19 vs 15

The ghoul's bite strikes the surprised Cid and while it's head eventually vaporizes into dust leaving only the scent of death behind, the damage is done. The bite was powerful and the ghoul's venom knocks cid to the ground. He's out hard.

Whistler-

I finish my meal and then head towards what I'm assuming is the only opening (the one to the west). I pay close attention not to my surroundings but to people walking through. I look for where all guards are stationed, if there's a blindspot for them, and any other members of this castle.
