So, back to Mage stuff
Can anyone tell me whether Mislead actually makes you invulnerable?
Preliminary testing shows that you momentarily lose Invisibility when attacking or casting spells, but you remain Improved Invisible and your true Invisibility is re-applied an instant later.
Casting Mislead and sending your alter-image into the fog of war would make you practically undetectable (bar True Sight and such). Anyone ever try this?

@ xyx :
i dont know what happens when you use mislead. I never used it, since there are many useful spells at level 6, like elementals, pierce magic, tensers, true sight, and wyvern call. Since the only mage i played was a sorcerer (exept for a kensai/mage for a while) i was not able to test it. But many enemies in the game use it, and while the enemy himself is able to move i believe the "image" is not. If it can move, the spell looks a lot more interesting, since you can use it as a very good decoy and dont have to bother where to cast it.

Actually, my point is that you
don't want the decoy around. It can move, all right, but if it is destroyed you become visible. Keeping it safe means staying invisible for 1r/level, even when attacking or casting spells.

i dont think thats possible. That would like you said make you pretty much always invisible and invincible.
That would be cool as a kensai/mage, since you cant use the staff of the magi to keep you invisible, and this is even better. i'll try it this weekend.

I've tested the spell mislead, and it works really good. Your decoy CAN move and run away so you stay invisible untill the duration runs out. So you can cast it, send the image away and keep casting spells or whatever without being noticed. Too bad i never used this spell!

It seems the ghosts of my Mage Bashing days have come back to haunt me!

LOL U_Niq, it's been a while since I last saw Deckard Cain representing a decrepit old mage.
"I have long feared that my sins would return to visit me... And the cost is more then I can bare."
Anyone recognize the above quote?

The Shadow Mages is a combination of two older guilds: The Council of Mages and the Shadow Guild. We're a guild devoted to Mage/Thief tactics (and spam

).

lots and lots of spam!!!!!!!!!!!!
hi everybody here i am again, i'm just about
every weekend away now.
The last weekends were very nice but i had very, very little sleep (counting minutes u be ad Edwins age

)
so i am a little bit F*cked *P and i have a test week now

.
Itis nice to see we got some post again, and some real discussions (didn't have those in a while

)
As for 'What is a Shadow Mage?' thing:
here goes ( and this is inportend history so every member should know it

):
after Edwin made The Council of Mages (fore mages) and i The Shadow Guild (for thieves)
we couldn't agree about wich class was better after a long discussion we disided to combine our powers to make 1 ultimate powerfull guild: The Shadow Mages.
We are big and so powerfull that they had to make a guild for all the other classes to even stand a change against us. (and it didn't work)
So people be proud to be a Shadow Mage and know u are part of something BIG!!
(this was nice for my 500st post speech

)

Aint there somebody on this board who can make a new kit, the shadow mage? Would be real cool to play one.
A question for you all: What would a shadow mage look like in BG2? What abilities/spells/etc would he have?
I think he should be able to backstab, hide in shadows and cast spells. But so far its just a thief/mage so come up with a few good ideas.

And a shadow mage is nothing without his special abilities:
- call killer orca
- summon mini skirts
