What exactly is his plot? Drool?

No, the drool is simply a diversionary tactic. It also serves the purpose of making the floor slick so as to discourage high speed in either escape attempts or pursuit.
might be interesting to not be the only tank in the party ;)
I know this response is a little late, but don't worry about being the only tank in the party Demo. The way I've got Setanta configured, he's basically a tank with a little bit of rogue scrappiness. As a matter of fact, he'd give your monk a lot of trouble hand to hand straight up... :p

Generally, what's the deal with the location? What are people thinking? I want to know if I should try and move the group away from Windhaven, or if everyone is going to make it there...

(tsk tsk... plot decisions can be so tricky)

I've been wondering the same thing. I'm already where the groups headed, short of causing trouble in the town or leaving I'm not sure there's a whole lot to do. Any sort of dialogue thing would either be just jabbering filler, or end up furthering the plot a bit I'm thinking.

STORY RELATED, details and such

I plan to get a post up tonight or tomorrow. Work is busy, cutting into my writing time and it seems most every evening something is going on. I was surprised to find so much weekend activity.

Georgi, nice post. I can't wait to hit a town for a little thievery myself. That post I've already written, I just need to get to windhaven.

Again, as I'm holding DW's character hostage at the moment (as in she can't post until I do), today or tomorrow I'll get something up so we can get the heck out of tethyr. It'll be rough and unrefined, but it will get us moving. Something I may edit and later point out here in the discussion it's been modified.

My upcoming posts will involve a couple of pieces in my inventory and it's necessary to explain them so the post makes sense.

Pharis is in possession of a pair of mildly sentient items. they work in tandem and are one of kukris and his leather armor. The kukri is a thirsty weapon and has the ability to 'drink' blood (homage to ned the vampire). It will voice it's needs when drawn.

The blood the weapon gathers is used to fill a translucent gem on the armor. When filled, the armor becomes 'alive' as the blood of the victim begins to pump through the armor. When the armor is donned, the 'veins' of the armor dig into the host. This blood swapping produces the powerful effect of the wearer being able to cast himself as an illusion of the blood donor. Complete appearance change, however, he's still himself behind the illusion. Example, Pharis dual wields kukri's and the donor is carrying a bastard sword. When in combat, the illusion can be manipulated so the combatant appears to fight someone carrying a bastard sword while he's free to slice and dice with his kukris. The armor also provides 90% elemental resistances to fire, electricity, and acid.

Yes, the armor is very powerful but not without it's drawbacks. The illusion will only last two hours (such time provides for enough blood mingling that the armor no longer holds it's illusion) I was thinking for every 30 minutes that passes (not that monitor time in the story), the illusion will become more easily dispelled. For instance, during the first 30 minutes, only a Pierce shield can disrupt the illusion, weaker spells being more effective as time goes on. I don't know the 3rd edition spell names so i'm using pierce shield as a 2nd edition example but I'm guessing everyone gets the drift.

Furthermore, for every 30 minutes the armor is worn, the wearer will suffer a minus one to str, dex, con, to hit, damage, and all saves. The armor is a life stealer, it's what it does. This will translate into the story as the long pharis wears the armor, the more useless he will become. Thus, with Pharis' 10's in strength and constitution, in five hours the armor will kill him.

Lastly, if the armor is donned with no blood in the gem, it will weaken the wearer to the point of death and if noone is available to remove the armor, it will kill. The armor can be filled with the wearers own blood, however no illusion will be maintained and the attrition effects will still hold true.

Apologies for the lengthy information, however, I think it's necessary for all involved to understand this stuff before reading upcoming posts. If anything is unclear, just post a question here.

AND, the origins of the armor and how they came to be in pharis' possession will remain a mystery for the time being although I have crafted such details if and when the time comes to reveal said information.

Cheers.

That's a brilliant idea! Mind if I take that and implement in one of my games? :)

You mean use the armor/blade combo in a PnP game. Go right ahead, call it the assassin's gift.

Yep yep, thanks. ;) I might change it to fit a certain magic using character but love the idea behind it. :D

I think I've taken on too many projects to keep myself too busy to think of certain things. Now, I'm too busy to think period. :o Time to allot a schedule for my new projects and hobbies I think.

Perhaps TM, Demo, BS, I and Cuch can do a gathering thing so we ALL meet up in windhaven while waiting for the others? I forgot if TM was in town or somewhere else...the rest of us are all there already though.

If you'r eholding up for Amara, Sytze, Z, WBG and her posse, go on ahead. We don't mind catching up a little. It's not like Amara's expected, and it'll add to realism. ;)

I'll think of something to keep things interesting later I think then. ;)

I like the post Cuch, a little background info during the downtime. :)

I'm trying to do something... you know how it is. This seems like a good time for a little exposition. I'm actually going to post again in a sec.

Currently I'm waiting on DW & Ned, DW will meet up with my character, Ysh is also on her way there. I figure we'll head off to Windhaven after our meeting. I can see us all either meeting in town, or all becoming involved in a skirmish around the area, whatever appeals to people. Sorry for the delays, if I'd been thinking more clearly I would have suggested we find a meeting point. As it is, I'm probably 2 days at most from town since BS didn't specify a location for it :D

I was thinking that we all could get together if we-myself, Mag, Demo, and anyone else- banded together and tailed BS. My character has some interaction with him in the past, and I'm sure he would be suspicious. Not really mistrustful, but rather he'd be pretty certain that BS would lead him to some answers about the orcs, etc.

Nice posts!!!

Currently I shouldn't even be here.. but I'm waiting on Gmail to upload some massive files before installing XP Home. And, while I had thought we'd be taking the computers over to the new places yesterday, we ran out of time, so that will be tomorrow instead :D

IMO, background pieces and character development are a really great way to spend time if you have the urge to write, and you are waiting for people.
Sorry, for the delays from my end of things too. Because of moving and stuff, I'm been incredibly busy ;)
Things should be more normal for me towards the end of the week.

@Z,

your signature rolls so well with your first post.

"The Great Axe swung through the air.

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!"

Is it sentient? Does the axe have fun causing pain?

Apologies @DW, as I said before, I sort of have your keyboard held hostage. I went through several permutations of the armor's abilities until settling last night on what it would do, which I posted this morning.

Just need to get those orcs in frying distance for you.
