@Ysh,

If the US is playing the Dutch, perhaps we could get a team from the country SYMia to fill on grouping D. We might not make the field of 16 but it sure would be fun. Who's gonna play keeper?

@Ned: Thanks for the link! And cheers - with our lassi :D
I also miss the Netherland in the world cup, it feels strange they are not there but countries like Tunisia are there. Not to take anything away from Tunisia, they qualified and the Dutch did not, but it feels strange...

I have to agree with Ysh that if the Netherlands were there, they'd beat the crap out of the US - they're simply a very, very good team.

@Ysh: Wembley is no more? Why is that, and when did it happen? :(

Production will go down catastrophically, and it was over 25000 people that had anwered the Swedish poll! Well I am so far lucky, I thought I'd miss the live broadcast of the opening game tomorrow since I had a meeting planned, but we had the meeting today instead, so perhaps I can work at home tomorrow :D (The match is 1.30 pm Swedish time)

It became lost because of the stupid FA, the new stadium might be nearby or might be moved to Birmingham. It happened a little a while ago...

If it moved to B'ham it would be a tradgedy, national stadia belong in London...

@all: Take a look at this, it's the new ice bar in Stockholm I mentioned to Gwally above. Don't mind the text, just look at the pictures:

http://www.aftonbladet.se/vss/nyheter/s ... 46,00.html

What do you think? It's opening tomorrow, in due time for the week long celebrations of Stockholm city being awarded city status 750 years ago. (Before that it was only a group of villages, only the king could give a town the city priviliege).

I think I'm going to visit! :D

Are you allowed to touch anything in the ice bar or will you be sued for damages. I envision a bar made of cheese. GEt drunk and dig in. :D It would be paradise for the wine and cheese crowd, "Hi, we've got a reservation for four at the Gouda table.

The WC will not be the same without the Dutch...

The twin towers have gone, and beyond the politics and the tenuous promise of £billions of (foreign) investment it is difficult to make any sense of the future for a national stadium. At the moment we borrow Cardiff Arms Park - but I am sure Sleepy will agree, that though it is a fantastic stadium, it does not hold what Wembley did...

Will you see the England/Sweden match? My hubby and I are away this weekend in the west country for our anniversary. We plan to do a bit of walking and sightseeing on the Saturday, taking in Stonehenge etc, and on Sunday we hope to have breakfast and find an accomodating pub for the game before returning to the normailty of family life! :D

@Ned: Sure you can touch things in the bar, since it's ice, they will rebuild it constantly :D Also, people don't get sued here (or sue others) like in the US, it's much much more uncommon here.

@Nippy and Ysh: Thanks for explaining, I do think it's a pity to remove an arena like Wembley, I never thought that could happen to the Temple of football. It must be the worlds most famous football arena, it's like removing the Eiffel Tower. :(

@Ysh: Early congrats to your anniversary! :) Great that you are going away by yourselves - and what could be a better Sunday morning than watching the Sweden-England game :D I'm certainly going to watch, and the hubby has also promised to watch although he's not at all interested in football (yet - hehe)

@Georgi:  ;) Not so cool - only -5C/27F :D I love ice, I just must go to that place :D

Red heads beware! A Druid will be visiting the Standing Stones! :p

@CE: I like the idea of an ice bar. We used to make furniture (easy chairs, tables, etc.) out of snow when we were kids! If you decide to visit the bar, I hope the owner has insurance! :D
That there; exactly the kinda diversion we coulda used.

:D Trouble is, I don't like to have freezing temperature or below at home :D

You sound like the right person to go with me to East Greenland - I've only been to the West and North, so I'm heading for the East next time :D Trouble is, almost no people live there, so it would be perfect to build an igloo, complete with furniture and all :D
