How could black be a lightsaber color its sapossed to glow
It can't. Black is not a color...in essence it's the absence of light. How could you have a black "light"saber...maybe a really dark purple would work. Otherwise I don't think there will ever be a "Black" lightsaber.

It was an idea i had already thought of all those problems but i was trying to see if anyone would come up with a reason that it could work :)

How about either golden, aqua-blue, or olive-green lightsabres?

alignment colors

this would be cool, you should be able to choose all of your hilt designs and the style of them or how long or short they are, and the clor should change with your alignment. So if you are total light side it should be a silver lightsaber, if you are total dark it should be blood red like "the exile" mentioned to atton in the begginning of kotor II, and then if you a little light side it should be blue, green, violet, orange, red and then red and lastly the dark red. That would be super cool, cuz then youwould get a lot of variety when fighting different jedi or sith, and you could then learn a lot about their character when you are speaking or fighting them.

I've been thinking lately about those saber colour's, and here's what I figured out.

First - how about a saber, that colour reflect's your current feeling's, like anger, peace, fear? You know, if you're angry then it change's to red, when at peace then it's green. Althought it is super-high unlikely they will put this idea into the game, it's still worth mentioning it.

Second - the black saber. I got an idea for realising such thing. How? Let's say that there was a Sith or Fallen Jedi evil enough, that he\she could even corrupt focusing crystal. Then, the saber would give the normal colour of saber, blue for example, but due to the influence of the wielder it can be sorrounded with dark matter. I know this is pure science-fiction, but with some changes it could be done (in the game of course).

i like the sound of your 'black' lightsaber, although i doubt i'd use a black lightsaber, i prefer the orange, violet and silver ones too much. a lightsaber that reflects your emotions would be really good but as you said it would be unlikely to be included. there are too many complications - like how would the game decide accurately what your character's emotions are at that time?. and would the colour be then fixed until your next set of dialogue, even if your feelings have changed long before then? its a nice idea though and it would be good if they could find a way to make something like that work.

Ok first thing a noticed is lets get the colors right.

DS is red thats a given but LS is not green the opposite of red is blue. Just like the opposite of Dark is Light.

So now that we cleared that lets get back to the topic.

A "emotional crystal" (i'll call it that) wouldn't be a good idea but thats just my opinion no reason they shouldn't add it to the game just i wont use it. Personally i use the color of which side i'm on like i said red for DS and blue for LS.

Not exactly. LS players have used many colours of lightsabers throughout the games, and in the movies. I believe the first lightsaber in the movie series was green.

This is more along the lines of just having different colour armament. The red is just to signify they follow different teachings, not that they are evil, and that blue is good.

Ok the first color of both Luke and Ben Kenobi's lightsaber is blue and then luke constructs a new lightsaber and then it's green.

And the whole sith and jedi conflicts are about opposites. Like i said Dark vs Light and red vs blue.

Lucas siad it himself or else i wouldn't be arguing about now.

Obi Wan Kenboi wrote:The color of the lightsaber indicates our ranking, or "Belt". I started as a blue belt but worked my way up to a green belt. When I become a true Jedi master, I'll be able to wear the same color sandy robes that Chi Gong wore.

Because I'm a big Nerd, I looked up the meaning of lightsaber colours, apparently each colour signifies different characteristics of whom weilds that lightsaber. I took a quiz, and my saber colour is Green. It reads...

"Green is your Lightsaber's color. Green is the color of nature. It symbolizes growth, harmony, and freshness. Green has strong emotional correspondence with safety. Green is also commonly associated with wealth and happiness, so someone with a green lightsaber like yourself is a fortunate soul."

Yay, I'm an ecological Jedi. Green also says I like bedroom sports a lot ^^ .

If your interested in finding out what kind of Jedi you would be and what kind of saber you would weild, check out this quiz.

In the KotOR game there were three colours for the diffferent types of jedi avilable, and in the second those numbers increased. Red vs. Blue doesn't seem to be the way it works anymore, if it ever did. As you can see, I believe sources a lot more than I like posts when regarding facts.

However, there was a talk about red being evil, and both green and blue being good, until more colours were added. Below:
Bad guys red, good guys blue or green.

Thanks to Sam Jackson, they can also have purple, although yellow has also been used in video games.

There is no real reason for this other than the psychology of red being mean and evil.

I honestly cant think of any new colors to add, they have th ebasic shade sof everything, unless they allow you to change the shade of the color.

Also, in the battle in the arena on Geonosis in Ep. II some jedi had yellow, possibly an orange saber.

Since the whole idea being George Lucases i'd rather go by what he had said.

Watch the original Star Wars movies commentary and you'll see that i'm right in this case.

And Obi Wan had a blue lightsaber even when he was on the Jedi council in the movies. So that Obi Wan Kenobi is probably just another geek thinking he knows what the lightsaber colors mean. I mean come on my first impression of the different colors was the different rankings they have.

p.s. i cant find the quiz.

does it really matter what the colours represent (exactly i mean, not roughly)? i mean, can't we just accept that red is generally sith and blue/green etc. is generally jedi and then have all the fancy ones in between for those that want to use them. personally i hate using blue/green/red etc. as i like my lightsaber to be a little more unique to those everyone else in the kotor universe are using so i like to use silver, violet, orange etc. whether playing ls or ds. i don't honestly think they need anymore colours as there is a wide choice in kotor2 already.

Point taken, i think i'll get back to the topic and stop worrying about it :) .

Teal would be my color of choice because i usually stick with neutral but i prefer to play with the LS story. And the two most common colors for Jedi are blue and green, and teal is a greenish blue. With teal i have both common colors with only one lightsaber.

Third quote is George Lucas. :) Note, my source is available. I do not own the DVD and most likely neither do many others, or those that have listened to the commentary.

'That geek' might also have been the producer for some of the shows for all me know.

Just wished to point that out. Not that is matters as much. :)

Nothing wrong with that. I was just expressing my concerns as well.

I do agree we should get back on lightsaber colours, however. :)

Now that we're back on track here this post can focus on my idea.

As i posted before i'd like to see a teal crystal because it's a mixture of both of the original colors of the jedi(blue and green). It would be my crystal of choice since i'm always following the LS story line even though i'm not always LS aligned.

Well a black and a white saber, or a multicolour saber, don't you think that that's a bit excaggarated. Isn't there something written (by GL?) that lightsaber colours may only have certain colours?

Hill, did you notice the 'This is Satire' tag?

The Black lightsaber could be 'negative light'...

Isnt Teal pretty much the same as Cyan though?
