Good point, another reason i'd hate to have Revan return as a crew member. Revan ending up dead in the game is the most likely idea to happen because like you said he had a much too important role to return. (same reason why he wasn't in KOTOR II)

I'd like to have the main character some nobody that eventually becomes a Jedi Master or Sith whatever (sorry to DSers but i dont know how to put it)
an example of what i mean is he is the least powerful Master on the council.
It's not who you are underneath, but what you do that defines you.

Return of both Revan and Exile? Possible. As to what role? I don't know

To be honest, after reading this whole thread including the posts, the idea of a return for both the Exile and Revan is kind of mixed. Its up to the developers to decide whether to include them or not.

Anyways, if anyone wants the return of both Revan and the Exile, especially as main characters and playable as well, KOTOR 3 would pretty much be linear in terms of the plot and story. The open-ended style of the gameplay can still be retained though not in the good/bad department. By the way, I don't mind if the game turn out linear as long as the story is satisfying, cohesive and epic plus have a conclusive ending.

Don't know if this idea will work if the game turns out like what I mentioned above, so here goes: When you start a new game, you have to choose between light side and dark side starting point. Light side will start after both Star Forge and Malachor V were blown up and both Revan and Exile will start as LS. As for the dark side, both Star Forge and Malachor V will be retained and both Revan and Exile will start as DS. Both these starts will have different endings. As for character class, you can only decide the main character's (Revan's) class and gender (depends if its feasible).

I think they should just do this have another character that palyed a part in the mandalorian war, a general or something important. Then they make the third game about him. Then they make a fourth game where the first half you play as reaven the exile and whoever the third character would be then have them do things in the mandalorian war with setups like the dantooine battle in part 2 where you organizze troops and you fight in the front lines and do special missions to keep the spirit of the old games then have the second half be back in the present and have them do their little adventure together with no other characters

I my opinion, 3 sequels is enough for me based on the KOTOR franchise.

As for the storyline part, I can't really comment as there are no news whatsoever about the next KOTOR.

I don't know how kotOR III shall be like, so i don't know if i want a sequel or not, if the game reveals everything that happened to everyone, i would be ok with 3 games of kotOR, but if it becomes like kotOR II (bad end, what is not probably because i think lucasarts learned of its mistake) i'd like a next kotOR after III.

Most probably Lucasarts will not repeat the same mistake since they released an incomplete KOTOR 2 to the public, thus generating a lot of criticism. As a result of that mistake, they'll surely want to avoid a similar incident.

Lucasarts proved that they changed when they released Star Wars: Republic Commando by giving the development arm of Lucasarts more time to develop the game, by adding personalities to each individual clone commando member and further refining the game. When it was released in March 2005, it was a resounding success.

I think the main issue is that if Revan came back he'd be ubber powerful, same with the exile. Now this is all you have to do is make the next game similar to the first two where the hero is unknown. Then take the three main characters and up the strength of all enemies because(and this is a spoiler) it was said that revan was in the outer rim and that was where the exile some have speculated was headed then make the enemies in the outer rim super powerful to match the ubber powerful main heroes.

actually, revan was already superpowerful before he got mindswept, so you can let every uber-powerful char return, but it would be stupid if revan got mindswept twice, so in that point you are right.

Agreed. Can't imagine Revan losing his memory the second time. The story by Halcyon Bek'ka sounds like he either suffered a bout of amnesia or hit his head so hard that he forgot what was he doing in the first place:laugh: . May be a good reason to play a downgraded version of Revan but not very appealing on the whole.

Besides, as what some people said on this forum, they are kind of tired of the memory loss aspect.

According to whatever everyone has been saying, people thinks it will be to hard to bring Revan and the Exile back. All it takes is a couple extra screens, options, and a load up from I and II! thats it

No, its not hard to do so. In my opinion, giving them set voice actors and preset faces is already good enough.

And about that idea of bringing up the load game files from the previous KOTORs, its impossible to do so since the game wasn't designed with that in mind and I seriously doubt they will do so in the next installment.

I understand where you coming from, it would be hard to upload the old Kotor files. But, as for the options, i believe it wouldnt be hard to have the option of choosing LS or DS nd other traits for the Revan and the Exile.

I’m quoting someone who posted way earlier this last year or something, so bear with me. I think his idea was good except for a few part, so i edited what i think the game should be like.

I think the new game, considering there is going to be one, should be about another totally different Jedi, who left the order after the star forge, and is returning to discover what happened to the Jedi. It finds the wreckage of the ebon hawk on a distant planet, (Malachor 5) with a damaged droid inside (T3). The hero activates the droid and asks what happened to it, and it explains what happened. The first part of the game is finding a way to repair the hawk and making a destination (a planet where he can get supplies and etc.). 2nd part is you have to find Revan and the Exile if they are alive. Note: (At the beginning of the game, a lot of you are complaining about what the Exile and Revan’s traits are gonna be but all you have to do is have a couple extra screens at the beginning so you can choose Revan and the Exiles old traits – Customizing your character{s}) as soon as you find the two missing heroes, wherever they may be, you head to Dantooine or the planet in which a jedi academy is found, and you find Bastila and any surviving members of the original game are waiting, and the truth outs. It turns out that your actually a really powerful jedi that can either destroy the Jedi world or unite it in peace. Soon later, the new Sith enemy attacks, but you and the 2 heroes escape. 3rd part is discovering your destiny, and what the future holds for you. Then comes the conclusion, to be honest, that’s really not up for me to say. You end the game, but ultimately, Lucas Arts has to make the ending perfect.

To be honest I have no clue what the game is gonna be about, but I hope that they don’t rush the game process, even though I would like to see the game in stores by next year.

Yes. I come from the PC gaming background so, never seen a game that has the ability to upload previous game files into the next one. ;)

So far I've heard nothing whatsoever about KOTOR 3 on E3 so no idea as to the release date.

Might not sound bad though lately, most game developers seem to shy away from this method as of late.

Where did you get this info from? Give me the link and I'll go take a look. I still have suspicions about news relating to KOTOR 3 especially sources that come from forum or fansites.

i would like to answer to the first question of this thread.i played both games with my real name.revan was just like me.i would have gone to fight the mandalorians if i would have been a jedi.on the other hand the exile activated the massive shadow generator killing so many people. after that s/he went crying to the jedi council.and i liked most of the npc:s in kotor1.kotor2:s only character i really liked was atton.this is my answer: exile sucks and i feel revan like "me".
who thinks revan is dead?

Highly doubt that. Never seen that type of game on the PC as far as I know. Just remember that only console games have that ability. PCs don't. Furthermore, in my opinion, the transfer of save games from one game to the other seems to be getting unpopular these days.

An expansion pack idea

I don't know if this is suitable but what about the idea of releasing an expansion pack that will install content removed during KOTOR 2's development plus content that will fill most of the plot holes in KOTOR 2? Could be offered as a free download or could be purchased at a low price.

Considering that what Lionhead did with Fable by releasing Fable: The Lost Chapters that include additional content for lower price for the XBox and full price for the PC (since the PC don't have the original Fable and was given the TLC version that comes together with both the original Fable and the added content), I don't see how that's impossible and might not cost Obsidian much.

That, in my opinion, will give Obsidian (if they're developing KOTOR 3) less headaches about filling the plot holes in KOTOR 2 and focus totally on what KOTOR 3's story should be.
