What works for one, may not work for another, but frequently the workarounds posted here may give new ideas for things to try out. (btw, I assume reloading is meant, not restarting...).
I had that big gang up with my Toreador too, took a while, but not a problem. My Malkavian had less work, two at the door, two near the wheel. most of them stealth killed. Odd that they spawn so differently, I haven't figured out why yet.
Why would a Toreador be 'lousy' at melee? Except for the Disciplines most clans can improve whatever stat they wish and Toreadors get Celerity and Presence to aid them in melee. The only clan that I could see doing better is Brujah, who get Potence on top of Celerity and Presence.

MalaksBane,
As you said, character stats can be increased throughout the game. I have nothing against Toreador characters in fact, I love my Toreador

but I was playing with
my stats. So, all the characters have different stengths and weaknesses enventhough *it is* the same charachter.
In my case, (I should of specified that since the beginning huh?) In order to have full armor prtection, I had to sacrifice a great deal of dexterity: wich caused my Toreador to become slow and almost sluggish in his movements. Even with celerity at level five and presence at level five, my character was being pushed/knocked and bullied over by Ming's huge transformation (and her spawning minions) and the Sheriff's big weapon and proficient use of his diciplines. My Toreador was still kind of slow/sluggish with those two diciplines developed to their full extent. But even this didn't stop me from taking them in a one to one meele battle and getting out of it in one peace. In fact, and as I mentioned earlier I usually play the game using meele weapons (unless I'm forced to use ranged weapons) and all together I finished the game yesterday.
By the way,
Thanks Yrthwyndandfyre your suggestion of the "noclip" command made it possible for me to finish my game. It may not work for everyone but you you'll never know unless you try.
A bit of warning for future users though: Make sure you stay on the ground because you can go through *everything* including the floors if you go too far.(Which caused me to go out of the bounds of the game the first time I used it.)

Still have problem
I wrote everything on the console and the game started to load. When i then come back to Downtown there are lots of lava cement blocks on the street and I can't move. I first thought that I had to be closer to the boat, but that wasnt the problem, because i klick Esc just a few seconds away from the loading screen, when everything is getting dark. I read that if you try to hit wit your hands you can move again, but there's still a problem with all the lava cement blocks. Please help with the problem, its realy bugging me and I have tried many times.

Those blocks are supposed to be there, and they are always awkward to navigate around. Try jumping, that usually works for me.

I had the same problem with the boat(it crashed when I got in) I followed your instructions and I got to the next level but when I apear near the taxi(I have all my weapons thats no problem)I can not move. What did I do wrong? (I pressed the esc and followed the steps the minute I jumped in the boat and I heared the humanity point gained).

G:\Spiele\Vampire\vampire.exe -console
works. Without any " "" "'s. Weird.
Well , i will update my post above with the new info.
Dont think i saw anyone mention this, but you only need the " if the directory has a space in, eg Vampire - Bloodlines, yours has no space so needs no ". Standard DOS! (Which i taught myself so i could bypass school security programs

)
Also, i havent got to this level yet, and i was just checking that that fix posted at the start works?

Please if anyone has any suggestions do tell me!!! I have tried everything- jumping, feeding, shooting.. everything but I do not move. Is this mistake based on the problem of the previous scene and therefore should I go back to the boat and try it again, or is this a problem concerning this particular level and in this case, what should I try?

Sofei, stop bumping your request. You already stated it, and pushing it forward (much less an hour later) is only going to get you regarded as discourteous. When someone has info that can help you, I'm sure they'll reply. But if they can't, no amount of pusihng it is going to help.
And no reply is necessary.

sofei, mad_man_gamer, There is another way you might move after the little boat "teleportation" trick. I think it is mentioned in this forum... somewhere, I don't remember. Well, what you can do is the following:
"Dorp all of your inventory."
Yep, all of it, then, when you can move, pick all of your gadgets back.
I was kind of skeptical about the not being to move after you got back to downtown......untill it happened to me. I remembered this little trick and I used it. It worked for me.
Another fun aspect of droping all your gadgets/junk, is thet the whole place gets "the glow" and......you get to see how repulsive the "odious chalice" really is; especially if its full of blood..........ew.....JK
By the way sofei, mad_man_gamer, the patch works fine too. (at least it should, but this game is a little wierd. Good...but weird)

Ok, so when I start the game the console pops up but I ahve to close it to be able to load my game. I have tried every single button on my keyboard to get the console back but it doesn't work and I have no idea what to do. I can't find anywhere to set the console shortkey either, need help.
And btw, the links do the bugfixer patch don't work. The site's been shut down.

There's a post a few pages back by YrthWyndandFyre that says that the tilde key is normally the shifted key left of the '1' key at the top of the keyboard, but he also says it might be elsewhere if your keyboard is for a different language. Have you tried the shifted keys? Sorry, but my keyboard is a standard 104 key, so it's exactly where he says it is.

Here's a weird idea. If you have a key to the left of the 1 on your keyboard, try shifting it. I have no idea what a Swedish keyboard looks like, but they're just devices. They work off scan-codes. Row-Address-Strobe/Column-Address-Strobe. Straight up RAS/CAS MUX, just like memory. A keyboard is just a memory cell that allows you to specify where the 1s and 0s are supposed to be by hand. Chances are pretty darn good that electro-mechanically they're all the same thing. A Swedish keyboard is probably just a standard 104 with different key-caps and a different driver. Shifting the key to the left of the 1 (or, more specifically, the upper-left key of the main typing board) will have the same scan-code in Swedish as it would have in English, or Italian, or Ukranian, for that matter.
I can't say for sure that it will work, but for the 1.2 seconds it'll cost you, what can it hurt? If it solves your troubles, it's a done deal. If it doesn't, scratch your head and waste another 1.2 seconds. No harm, no foul.

I have already tried, it didn't work, I have tried every single button with and without shifting em'.. I'm gonna borrow a friends keyboard since there might be something wrong with mine. It sounds stupid but it's worth a try .

Are you sure you tried the key that bears this
~ symbol? Don't
shift~ just hit the
~ button alone. When I began, I had the same problem, in fact, my previous posts in this thread should help you out (the really earlier posts by me in this thread) because I went through the exact same problem. YrthWyndandFyre was a very big help when I had problems with finding the console key.
Hope you you can figure it out, squee.

Well i have tried ALL the buttons with and without shift and it doesn't work >_<... I'm gonna try with another keyboard and see if that works...

Squee, This is what yrthwyndandfyre suggested I should do. Perhaps he was right about not being the same for all keyboards, but still, it is strange that you still haven't found it. I'm going to try and run the game tomorrow bacause after my last frustrating attempt to play the game, I took a much needed break.
I know how frustrating it gets being stuck in one point of the game, so I hope you can serendipitiously find the key.
yrthwyndandfyre wrote:That's the 'caret'. You're looking for the 'tilde' which looks like this: ~. On most English keyboards it is the shifted key left of the '1' key, but it may be elsewhere for other languages.
