But calling it a code of honor doesn't explain the reasons for it, and this leaves me curious. Without meaning to be insulting in any way, why should women, in your opinion, be protected by you "at all costs?" And if this leads back to your statement about an honor code, then what is the reason you follow this honor code?

I know you're bright, so I can't help thinking that "somebody told me over and over when I'm a child to believe this" isn't the explanation, here. You obviously believe something about women that causes you to go along with this belief system you've presented. And I'm curious what that is.

yes there is a reason, men, i mean real men. those who dont think twice about throwing their lives away, trying to protect the innocent. i try to aspire to that. but i find it hard to live up to. like the Samurai or the Knights of Old.
its something ive tried to live up to my whole life but have never quite reached. i just wondered if others thought this way or i was alil insane
