Jedi Knight was okay, but Jedi Knight 2 was better. I forget how many levels it had, I just cheated and pushed stormtroopers of high buildings with my Force powers...
Anyway, Flammie hasn't eaten you because we told him not to, but he does prefer paladins for his diet. And Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses. He's just always been like this, ever since he followed me back to the Rolling Thunder.
However I'd keep an eye on him anyway...

@Mah-Whom says kender can't use magic? I think they have the best attitude for magic, especially wild magic.
As for Puffy keeping Flammie happy, I suspect that he's a simple soul with equally simple pleasures. He probably doesn't need much to keep him happy.
Which is good, as he certainly doesn't get much... (I'm sure everyone knows who the smiley is for...)
