for those of us who do in fact have TOB, what does everyoen think is the best new spell?
my vote goes to dragon's breath. it does 20d10 damage with a 3 castign time as compared to comet's 10d10 and 9 casting time.
wish is too unpredictable.

Project Image = still #1

Nothing like doubling your spells for the day... including your Dragon's Breath.

Or...

Improved Alacrity.

Why settle for Dragon's Breath when you can cast 6 Horrid Wiltings in the same time?

Or...

Chain Contingency.

Casts almost instantly. Cast in the middle of a battle, set the trigger to "enemy sighted". Place three Horrid Wiltings in it for 30d8 damage if saved. Or place three Project Images in it to blast your enemies with everything you've got... thrice

Or... Why not combine everything?

Cast Improved Alacrity first, then cast all the Chain Contingencies you have and load them with Simulacrums (if your level is high enough for them to cast level 7 spells). Have your Simulacrums cast Project Image or more Simulacrums. Cast hundreds of damage spells in the space of a few rounds.

maybe it takes that long because someone is playing with your copy...

Anyone going to play a wild mage? I could just see someone having a romance and then a wild surge changes them from a male to a female in the middle of the game. Reminds me of Tiax shrinking his pants down to three sizes smaller with a spell meant to punish the protaganist.

I don't! I tested half of this stuff by knocking off the XP cap in SoA (using a cheated test save), the other half is speculation... All the Chain Contingency and clone stuff really works. I haven't been able to test Improved Alacrity, of course.

I had that exact problem happen to my male Wild Mage very early in the game. Suddenly Anomen starts hitting on him! I guess he has a really short term memory.
