Actually, for some reason, I don't have a problem with subnetting. I think it's where it is actually geared to accomplishing something, instead of just solving problems.
Besides, I have been through three semesters of Cisco training, and that is about what most if deals with. I don't have much problems with binary, pretty simple to remember.
Also, I have the chart.
That damn thing has saved my ass on more rthan one occasion.

Reminds me of when I first joined GB.

I hate math, too; but I have to take it because one of my majors is Computer Science.

Why does everyone here seem to dislike math, it's fun, well a lot depends on the one teaching, but it can be fun. ( Except everything that has to do with matrixes in it.

I used to love math. It was one of my favorite subjects all the way through 6th grade. Then I got to 7th grade and my whole attitude about school changed. Then I got to 9th grade and started doing Algebra. After Algebra 1&2, I did not like math one bit. Then I took Trig twice. First time, I had to move from Texas out here to Arid Zone A, so I had to drop out of the class. Second time, I passed but with a D, which means you have to either take it again or take pre-calculus. When registering for classes this semester, I was told that I shouldn't have been in Trig to begin with because, according to the test I took last January when registering for the Spring 2001 classes, I don't have the algebra skills necessary. Actually, I'd have passed the course with at least a B if I'd actually done the homework. But it's hard to convince myself to do something I hate doing.

I like math not because it is fun, but because unlike most subjects, there is a set way of doing things, and if done correctly it always works. I guess it just matters if youv'e got a mind for numbers.
@GandalfgalTTV: What is your favorite math related subject?
Mine is triganomatry(SP).

Heh, I have a mind for numbers, I just don't like math. Bleah, Trigonometry is almost as bad as algebra. At least in Trig I can play around with my graphing calculator and make purrty designs using my 3 color graph. Graphing all the sine, cosine, etc stuff at the same time using the right colors for each one comes up with a very pretty pattern, perfect for cross stitching(sp?) or crocheting.

IMO algebra is quite a few levels worse than trigonometry. I personaly find sin, cos and tan very easy to use.

trig uses a circle, algebra uses imaginary numbers. i prefer the circle. all in all I'd have to say statistical analysis is my favorite discipline and calculus because i'm brainwashed on it. had it for years and years.
btw, i'm not usually up this late but i'd hate to finish the cult of the unseeing eye just one more time.

yeah, point taken. I was just putting in my two cents and trig always made a hell of a lot more sense than algebra on all it's levels.
We better have a drink, BS won't enjoy all thise math chatter without booze involved. It is a bar, after all.

Did someone mention my name and booze in the same sentence?
