Hey, time for me to get some shuteye - which is a little difficult here considering the ...erm...distractions - so I am passing the thread and needle to my good friend DW, Aleldar - I have it in good faith she is a practiced seamstress ;)

Well sure that helps, but it doesn't possibly follow that just cos you can use a sword, you can use a bow. They are completely different :p

Technically true, however, an example can be made with the English longbowmen. Archers trained from the early years were incredibly dextrous and many also had skills with swords aswell, taking up ranks with men-at-arms companies. They were often in the midst of hand to hand combat after finishing off men at long range.

I didn't say it wasn't possible to be skilled at both, which is the only thing this little anecdote proves :p I am only saying that skill with a sword does not mean skill with a bow, and this isn't an exception ;)

*sigh* I'm not disputing that. What your post said was that if you can wield a sword, you can wield a bow, but there is very little logic that links the two. So you can swing a sword at someone and hit them... that doesn't mean you can aim an arrow at someone and hit them. It's a totally different skill. :p

And don't patronise me, laddy :p

Yes but he did not say that he would instantly be able to hit targets did he? He said he could use a bow, not instantly be amazing with it.... :D :D :p
