Haven't seen Warcraft 3 yet. How well does it compare to it's predecessors?

Don't have war3... mechwarrior4, war2 + expansion, half life, quake2, wing commander 1-4, planescape torment, BG1 +TofSC, BG2 + ToB, fallout tactics, dark forces2, arcanum and heavy gear are my only games

** downs his shot of Sangrita ** HOT! ** opens another can of cold Duff and takes a drink ** AAAaaahhh... great stuff, Flibble :D .

WarCraft III is just as addictive as WarCraft II (I found WarCraft I unplayable, once you've played WarCraft II, because of the lack of auto-commands. You really have to click the "move" button in WCI and then point where you want your units to move to  ). The idea of Heroes works well too; really gives you the idea that you're leading your troops to battle and the special abilities of some of the heroes are very  . All in all, there's only one downside to WarCraft III, when compared to WarCraft II to me: the absence of naval troops/battles. But the addictive gameplay and splendid graphics make more than up for it.

@Harry: heard some good things from Morrowind too... but WarCraft III is worth considering, if you want some to play something other than an RPG ;)

Not really interested in anymore Blizzard products after how they handled the patches for Diablo2 on Bnet, the expansion made it pure cheese .... definately give Morrowind a look when i have money and providing my system can run it

the actions of Eerhardt

Sorry to hear, Harry :( . I have Diablo I too (not Diablo II, though), but I don't have access to the net at home, which is both a blessing and a curse. Like I said, I have heard some good things from Morrowind, but I don't have it myself. Hope you enjoy the game, once you get it :) . I'm going to play Neverwinter Nights myself, once I get a better graph card  but opinions on NWN are divided... :o ** takes a hit from his spliff **

Hey Beldin :)

@Eerhardt I have diablo1 and hellfire too but cant really stand that either any more, quite painful without the run mode that was in D2

Beldin:

I liked DiabloII - until the bnet servers were run over by PK's and cheaters... - and in addition to that I ran into BG2 shortly after my first couple of runs through D2 - and got addicted. I like the RPG feel in the BG series a lot more than the "hack'n'slash" approach of D2.

If I want violence - I'll play Mechwarrior 3&4 or "Soldier of Fortune"....no THAT'S a bloody game... ;) :D

No worries. **draws fom his spliff and opens a can of Budvar**

@Harry: I imagine; taking a step back is frustrating  ... ** takes another hit from his spliff ** @Beldin: a million ways to kill a guy... :D (re. the net: I heard quite a few stories of cheaters killing you in the town in Diablo I, when you're not supposed to be able to harm anyone  )

Morning. :)

Has Tam really gone? I've just seen the "Good Bye" form. :( Or, is he just teasing?

I think the surfing season is in the coming down under - (as is the winter up here...) - and he'll spend most time on the beach - and he has hinted that he has not much incentive to return to SYM after the summer...but he didn't give any other reason than his short attention span... ;) :D .

No worries,

Beldin

Hi Minerva :)

@Beldin, have you seen SoF2 yet? Supposedly even more violent than the first one.

Really looking forward to a bit of warmer weather down this way. The constant rain and wind is getting a bit depressing.

Hello, Mr Flibble. :)

I'm playing Morrowind now, and it's great. Only problem I have so far is there are so many quests you can do at the same time, and diary system is horrible to back track.

Not yet, Flibbs, not yet...but I'm not really a hardcore gamer....I only use SoF as kind of stress - release...you know on those days that you really want to make things go splat....(Any "helldesker" out there can tell you how that feels.. ;) )

The BG Series (and hopefully soon NWN.. :) ) is what I play for entertainment.

@all : re - The Weather : I'm used to 3 Months of summer followed by 2 weeks of autumn, followed by 7 months of rain/fog/cold/snow/aaarrrgh ! ....so don't get me started on weather issues ! I wasn't "built" for this climate ... and I'm still thinking of moving into the carribean - as soon as Fidel staps down and lets me take over...Mwuahahahahaha!!!!
