Did this disscusion die or what? :(

Well here is a Topic:
What can a Rogue (Thief/Bard) do with the "Use Any Item" ability that only some of the other classes can?

- Cast Spells (from Scrolls)
- Have his very own familiar (from Scroll)

Anything else?

how do u mean this topic is death

we got around 40 new posts yesterday that is a whole lot.
so no more death topic talking around here ok?? :D

about the use any item ability:
They can use the staff of the magi, nice bonusses.
any armor so great AC
and what do u say of a Thief backstabbing some one with the Carsomyr :D

Alright, its not dead... (almost) :D

You cant backstab with the Staff of Magi, if you use armor heavier then Studded Leather Armor you get penalty to your thiefing skills, and i somehow doubt that you can backstab with the Carsomyr... so those are BAD points!!! :D ;)

I dare bet that they still can't backstab with Carsomyr... It being a two-hander and all.

Good stuff = some of the personal NPC goodies (like Jansen's techno stuff). Maybe some of the long bows, plate armors or wands. Staff of the Woodlands, Staff of Power, Staff of the Magi, or the Amulet of Power when solo...

I think a swashbuckler will kick ass with the use any item ability. I don't have ToB yet :( but with a swashbuckler you get great AC, a great thac0 for a theif, and there's no need to worry about backstab because you can't anyways. I think they could make a better fighter than an actual fighter. Think about your swashbuckler with the lowest AC of anyone, a very good thac0 and using any armor or weapon (or anything else) he wants. Pure power.

btw, we make it to post 1000 much faster than we made it to 500!!! The guild is still growing very fast!!

I think I know I might be a way to make an swaschie backstab without cheating(but only for 3*).
Import a thief from Bg1(totsc) and choose his kit swashbuckler.
The backstab will stay i think.
I know this because I imported a druid from Bg1 and choose totemitic druid, and she could still shapechange, you don't loose your class his abilities if you import.

You could also power up your assasins skill powers by importing!

that really is a neat trick.
so u could put al your points in find/dis arm/ set traps and open locks in BG1
so in bg2 when u play an assassin u don't have to worry about that and put the rest of the points in hide, move and maybe also set trap and detect illusions.

BTW i have Jan with 125 points in det. ill. but i don't notice a lot happening with that.
shouldn't it work like true seeing by now???So how many points do u have to put in detect illusions before some thing happens????

Bad rate of attack and low Hit Points compared to the real warriors, though. Can be remedied in several ways, of course. Using Scrolls of Mirror Image, Stoneskin, Vampiric Touch, Improved Haste... Using that Monk-only wakizashi that gives you an extra attack...

off topic... but who cares :D
Saddam Hussein and George W. Bush meet up in Baghdad for the first round of
talks in a new peace process. When George sits down, he notices three
buttons on the side of Saddam's chair. They begin talking. After about five
minutes Saddam presses the First button. A boxing glove springs out of a box
on the desk and punches Bush in the face.

Confused, Bush carries on talking as Saddam laughs. A few minutes later the
second button is pressed. This time a big boot comes out and kicks Bush in
the shin. Again Saddam laughs, and again Bush carries on talking, not
wanting to put off the bigger issue of peace between the two countries. But
when the third button is pressed and another boot comes out and kicks Bush
in the privates, he's finally had enough, knowing that he can't do much
without them functioning well. "I'm going back home!" he tells the
Iraqi.
"We'll finish these talks in two weeks!"

A fortnight passes and Saddam flies to the United States for talks. As the
two men sit down, Hussein notices three buttons on Bush's chair and prepares
himself for the Yank's revenge. They begin talking and Bush presses the
first button. Saddam ducks, but nothing happens. George snickers. A few
seconds later he presses the second button. Saddam jumps up, but again
nothing happens. Bush roars with laughter. When the third button is pressed,
Saddam jumps up again, and again nothing happens. Bush falls on the floor in
a fit of hysterics.

"Forget this," says Saddam. "I'm going back to Baghdad!"

Dubya says through tears of laughter, "What Baghdad?"
