ARGH! (j/k) I still have the list somewhere so updating it won't be as time-consuming as originally constructing it was. It'll be interesting to see how the number of posts per person has changed (I may not be most prolific Shadow Mage poster anymore  :D ).

Recently I’ve been thinking about Neverwinter Nights. You can come up with some very interesting combinations of classes with the 3e rules. Right now I’m thinking of making a Ranger/Rogue character that specializes in dual wielding and sneak attacks. But the possibilities are endless (weird combos like a Gnome Paladin/Bard will become commonplace  ).

Damn, looks like I spoke too soon! Compiling the updated list has been a pain in the ass but it’s finally back on track. By the time we reach 1000 I should have a fairly accurate count of our posts per spammer. I’ll have to start working on a new speech as well. ;)

Funny joke U_Niq! :) :D

BTW, my assassin has use the bracer for paladin to increase his hitpoints, wands of monster summoning and helmets. Also time stop trap + improve haste + assasination = lots of back stabs!

Beware... Multiclassing is not what it used to be (let alone dual classing). It has been, dare I say... balanced? Dualling means you miss out big time on attacks per round (as does taking any of the "prestige" classes (if they make it into NWN)).

A level of Paladin may look nice before you "dual" to Sorcerer, but when you get to level 10 you may just hate yourself for taking it. A couple of HP and weapon proficiencies versus a load of powerful spells you miss out on...

I dont think so: i;ve been away for quite a while, busy with school. Maybe i'm still on a fouth place. ;)

About NWN: Can we make a NWN clan with all the members of the shadow mages? Sounds very cool to me. I hope i have cable or ADSL or whatever by then so i dont have to worry about the bills.

Does somebody know the release date? i thought it was somewhere near christmas this year.

Multi classing is much easier in 3e then 2e (the old dual classing rules no longer exists). And there are some major imbalances as well. Want free Ambidexterity and Dual Wielding? Just take a single level of Ranger and they’re yours for free. Most warrior types take this chesse tactic to get cheap access to Duel Wielding. (P.S. Neverwinter Nights isn't going to have Prestige Classes.)

The whole Guild getting together would be very cool indeed. :D I'm thinking of playing as a Ranger/Rogue (specializing in stealthy matters naturally ;) ). The release date is slated for sometime in late 2001, probably shooting for Christmas.

Not that cheap, actually... Suppose that NWN caps out at level 20. If you're a level 20 Fighter, you'll have 4 attacks per round. If you're a level 19 Fighter with 1 level of Ranger, you'll have only 3 attacks per round. I'll take the extra attack over the "free" dual wield every day.

Same goes for (what I consider) even more "powerful" combinations such as Sorcerer with a level of Monk (AC and save bonus) or Paladin (weapon abilities, lay on hands, even bigger save bonus). Is that worth two level 9 spells per day?

Incidentally, according to the 3E PHB, a level 20 Sorcerer can increase all his stats by 5 with the Wish spell... Doesn't even cost XP. If that's not a powergamer's dream come true, then I don't know what is.

Hello everybody!!!! Some considerations about ToB....the game is great, but i made a BIG mistake in creating a new character. I mean, my female halfling assassin is really great, but i really miss the good equipment i had in SoA. Items like Crom Fayer, the wave, daystar, celestial fury are difficult to separate from... :(
Moreover i really missed all those helmets that give you protection from charm.....
So i think i'll stop my current game and import my old character or start a new SoA game......any suggestion from who have already played the game???
