I guess we’ll have to have a eulogy for them (just what I need, more speech writing
![Stick Out Tongue :p](./images/smilies/)
). Alas, poor Dude and U_Niq. If only ToB had arrived a bit sooner. We'll mourn your passing.

You bring up a good point, but it's important to remember that although in the long run you're better off as a pure class, in the short term it's very effective. Dual wielding is going to give you extra attacks and if you multiclass to ranger early (say Ftr 1/Rng 1) you're going to have a big early advantage over folks who take their time to do things the old fashioned way. Furthermore, in Neverwinter Nights getting to level 20 is supposed to be damn hard (the in-game campaign will only take a character to around level 10 or so).

Monk’s can’t multiclass in Neverwinter Nights(or so folks tell me).
Check out the remarks on the offical Neverwinter Nights board to get some idea on how folks feel (believe me, everything's been/being discussed

We could have some cheesy fight music from the original Star Trek play as the two Shadow Mages grapple for ToB! The rest of us could sell tickets.

) and makes peace between dude and u-niq taking the copy of ToBand running away screaming...."NOW I HAVE 2 COPIES!!!!!" MUHAHAHAHAHA

You still have lots of things to learn, my son. Ofcourse I will get the last copy.
But jumping of the Hilton seems a good idea. For everybody who doesnt know: The one and only dutch rock and roll hero committed suicide yesterday by jumping of the Hilton hotel somewhere in the Netherlands. He probably didn't feel a thing, since he was stoned 24/7

That wont be a good idea, since thedude and i will chase you all the way back to italy till we get the copy you stole from us. And because we are in Italy anyway, we "borrow" yours too so we can still play both.

The difference between a level 10 Fighter and a 9/1 Fighter/Ranger is still one attack per round... The advantage of an early multi wears off after about 4 levels or so, when every character has had a chance to get a decent amount of Hit Points and the feats to dual wield.

Exactly, hence my feeling that it’s a cheese tactic that certain players (Pkers and the like) will use to gain an early advantage. Taking the cheap 1 level of Ranger gives you brief period of superiority that many unscrupulous players will exploit by PKing or Griefing (I know I’m cynical but I‘ve had too much experience on Battle.net and other online games to believe in the altruistic nature of other players). Hopefully DMs will be able to keep it to a minimum (assuming the DM isn’t corrupt himself
![Eek!](./images/smilies/)
).
