Well, my courses are split up into coursework and exams. The coursework is usually worth between 30 and 50% of the final mark. There are tutorials after the lectures where we have work to do, but we do th work there rather than outside generally (apart from practice etc).
I think we talked about this before but not until this moment have I realized the difference between what you describe as "coursework" and what I took it to mean; "homework". Your coursework sounds alot similar to the "projects" we get in some classes; "homework" for us means those random assignments you got alot of in high school and we still get that are worth very little and I admitted to not putting alot of effort into because they're worth very little. "Projects", your "coursework", however are worth about as much as a test which is quite a bit. I couldn't give you a percentage but they're important.
Crap, outta time I have to go (I was about to respond to the english thing...). See ya later Rav, I'm sure I'll be back on later.

I'm glad I don't get homework anymore, well other than the 'Personal Development Portfolio' the goverment have foisted upon us all.
Okay, see you later Tony...

the perecent of your grade that homework, tests, quizzes and projects count usualy depends on the teacher, or atleast it does here, in some of my classes everything counts the same, so a homework grade (one every class period) counts as much as a test grade (once a month), pointless really... but in some of my classes, tests are 60% of the grade (prjects included in test category), quizzes 20%, and hw 10%. It really depends on the teacher.

Here, I think it's planned out from the beginning. In the first year of the course, coursework counts more towards than the final grade than it does this year, for me.
And next year, there will be a project, where we decide what to do, though it has to be very big...I'm dreading that...

Your project sounds like our senior exits,I dont know if they have them everywhere in America but I know we have them, im not looking forward to it though. Basically, all juniors in high school are required to pick a topic, reasearch it thoroughly, write a huge paper, and turn it in to a board of teachers.

Welcome back Kitten...sorry I wasn't around when you reappeared.
@Phreddie, yeah, that seems similar to what I'll have to do, except it can be a program instead of a thesis or something like that...
I expect they'll give us coursework on top of it too.

Because it's hard to spam alone...
You're pouty because you're hungry? Or is it something else?

Not in your case... 80-some posts a day... sheesh...
I'm pouty. And I'm hungry.

I don't have that many posts per day and besides I'm not posting on my own during those times.
Right...didn't you say that already?
Awww.
Which music video?
Brian May... he was singing Two Much Love Will Kill You. He wasn't singing as well as I've seen him before, but there were tears in his eyes. I can't really explain why it made me cry.

Well, you're a big fan of his, right? I suppose that partly explains it...

Fine, you have no excuse for crying then. Happy or just pouty still?
