Ok Here's the deal, I just finished the game for the first time(I know I'm a little slow) and I was wondering what class I should be next time. I was also thinking about soloing. So any advice, questions, comments, whatever else would be helpful

IMHO if you gonna try to do most of the quest Dualclass Thief/fighter or mage or kensai.

Yes, be a thief! The world needs more thieves!
Actually, since there are no quality NPC thieves, I think it's a no-brainer to try a thief at some point. Playing a thief is cool, as the frontal assault isn't the best approach so you are forced to try different strategies.

I would absolutely recommend the Fighter/Mage/Thief. That way, you almost have it all. For healing, simply use potions (being alone, you'll find more than enough).

...you forget one big catch about soloing. A lone character can't carry enough stuff at the very beginning of the game e.g. until you find or buy the first scroll cases and find the bag of holding. Experienced it myself: Being a fighter/mage/thief thus holding your potions, scrolls, weapons AND the quest items is very difficult...

Well - you don't have to carry so much stuff, if you're only looking to equip 1 character compared to equipping 6 characters.

I'm currently soloing with a Berzerker dualed to thief at level 9. I chose berzerker for the ability to be immune to Imprison, Charm, Domination, Hold, etc. As a solo character getting hit with any of these can mean an immediate reload.
The tricky part of playing a dual character solo is the transition period. I dualed right after the circus tent so I was able to get a couple levels from talking to the guard and boy. As a thief you can pick up another couple levels from locks/traps on the 2nd floor of Mae'vars guildhall and another couple from quests with little or no combat.
If you dual to mage, getting past the transition is simply a matter of saving enough scrolls/cash to be able to get the levels from memorization. Knock can get you past doors, but some traps are nasty so I recommend the thief.
For a party I want to try using a scald. At high level he gives kensai like combat bonuses to the entire party!

when asking what class you want to play next, it might help if you told us what class you have allready played.
If you havent played as a ranger i would reccomend it, lots of fun

If you haven't done it yet, try my fav class, the Elven Mage/Thief. Now, if they'll just let us have the Spellfilcher kit...

A M/T is a great character to run point with in dungeon settings.
