Being a newbie (sort of, I'm racking up posts quite fast but I'm new to forums and I've my internet connection for less than a month), I am having trouble decoding the abreviations and jargon that comes with your replies. Could you guys teach me what they mean and some of the tricks-of-the-trade (if there are any).

Thanks

Oh, and some other things:
- What is "flaming"?
- How do you put your own smilies in posts?

LOL =laughing out loud
Flaming is insulting someone. It can be friendly teasing or a serious argument.A flame war is an argument that has deteriorated into name calling and insults and is guaranteed to get a topic closed and possibly the participants banned. What do you mean by posting your own smileys? Using the ones common to this board or creating your own?

The way to post your own smillies would be to upload them onto another site, and then just make a link to them.

Flaming is....errr.... hmmm.... You might want to ask Waverly. I am sure that he will be more than happy to explain. :D :D

Flaming is an advance art of spamming, it require certain wits to twist your words so you don't get a warning by the mods even get baassied ( :D ) after you flame some one.....and it does not need a flame thrower to master it :D :D
The usage of flame thrower is highly known as Demolition Derby :D :D Boys and Girls don't try this at home ! :rolleyes:

I don't know how to create your own, but you can go to loads of sites and get them. I'll send you the address of one if you like.

These sites also have manuals on how to make your own, and you can upload your smilies onto these pages, so that you can use them on other websites. So don't be so quick in turning down such a nice offer.
