Game hangs after killing balor (possible spolier)

hello all,

I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this. My game hangs after I kill the balor at the deep gnome village in the underdark.

I have baldur's gate II SOA and TOB installed on a vista computer. Latest patch installed.

Game worked perfectly fine up to that point.

Would greatly appreciate your help.
