I have just finished TOB, and i am quite sad that it had to end,

can anyone recommend me a game or anything which is a suitable follow-up?

P.S. i have also completed BG1 and TOSC. :)

Planescape: torment, if you like dialogue and a FANTASTIC storyline.
If you like a more combat oriented, easy to understand story , KOTOR is the game for you. It's a great game in it's own style.

Also, I think there's a thread like this somewhere else, try to search for it and you'll find tons of other suggestions.

The Icewind Dale series is also quite good, same engine as BG. They're more combat-oriented, but still quite fun.

But yeah, make sure you check out Planescape: Torment.

If you have the computer to run it, and you enjoy story-driven games, you might also want to check out The Witcher.

And yes, I'd definitely add a plug for PS:T, in my view, the best RPG ever made, period.

Although it takes place way in our future and isn't from the same universe (obviously), I strongly recommend Fallout and Fallout 2.

The beginning is a little slow though. Slower even than Irenicus' prison. Don't let that throw you off though, it's quite good.

Well, if this is the first time you finished TOB, you could... well, I don´t know, try completing it again with another class, gender, alignment or something.
Beyond that... Hmm...
I´d say:
Kotor 1+2
Fallout 1+2 and Tactics, I guess.
Icewind Dale 1+2
Planescape: Torment

And as a sidenote on other games in the CRPG-genre: I never liked Neverwinter Nights. I completed it ONCE, and since that, I´ve never really played it. The story isn´t exactly thrilling, and the NPC interaction, both with the PC and other NPC´s, was horrible. And don´t even get me started on how much I loathe that radial menu system.
If you want an interesting party with a lot of backtalk and sometimes moronic and hilarious interactions, Baldur´s Gate 2 was a classic. Planescape and Kotor are as ingenious as that in many ways. The NPC´s aren´t just minions as in Diablo 2, I´ll tell you that.

Sadly, they don´t make many games like that anymore.

I don´t know. The entire interface of combat, spellcasting and so on in Neverwinter Nights irritated me. Seriously. That was half the reason I gave it up. Kotor, on the other hand, now that was totally different. Combat was smooth and efficient. And the use of skills, feats and "magic" was very accessible. I would definitely recommend that game after playing Baldur´s Gate. Baldur´s Gate was also very hands-on in regards to the control of the different aspects of the game. Then again, if kriss liked the whole look and the features of Baldur´s Gate, maybe Icewind Dale is something to look into.
