***SPOILERS***

So my party of heroic adventurers have finally rendevoused with the forces from Luskan/Neverwinter after destroying the glacier, and even managed to give the fake letter to the doppleganger captain. All good.

Then we enter Chapter 3 with some gumph about having to get to Kuldahar across the mountains, which will end up with us passing through the underdark etc... My question is why is my party doing this? We did our job and now need to get back to Luskan to report that the mission was a success, yet Oswald has flown off in his airship.

Is there something I missed somewhere? I know that we have the names of the Chimera Legion leaders now, but I would've thought we would just go back to Luskan to report this.

Does that mean that nobody knows what I'm on about or that nobody can be arsed to reply?

You're struck by a sudden need to travel across the dangerous countryside, not to mention through the Underdark, to get to Kuldahar. Because they're in danger. Apparently.

people on this forum are helpful, and if they can assist you, they will. However, it is rude to bump your own thread demanding to be heard.
Try patience and manners and perhaps people will be inclined offer you advice if they are able.

Tate - thanks for the reply, although I'm still baffled by the reason to travel to Kuldahar through all of those dangerous areas rather than confronting the Chimera Legion head on in the pass.

Dragon Wench - I wasn't being deliberately rude, just getting frustrated that so many people were reading the thread but not replying. Seeing as you can see most of the thread content by hovering over the title in the forum, I assumed that people were ignoring my request.
Also, it was a good few hours after my initial thread that I bumped it.

I tried several searches on the topic, all to no avail, and reading through half-a-dozen walkthroughs hasn't helped either, so I thought a quick post would elicit a speedy response from this knowledgable gathering.

The reason given for not using the pass is that your party couldn't hope to deal with the vast army of the Legion of the Chimera, being only 6 people or so.
