Slings and halflings

In the information about halflings, it says that they have an innate ability with slings. My questions are: has this been implemented? What is the effect of this ability? Does it continue to have an effect as you put more *s on sling?
I'm surprised that I couldn't find an answer to this using the search function.
Maybe I just typed in thr wrong key words.
I seem to remember reading a thread with regards to the supposed extra skill that elves should have in using bows and long swords not being implemented and am wondering if the same applies to Halflings.

The immunity to sleep wasn't implemented for Elves. I tried a quick search (NI/online)and i couldn't find anything either.

On the same theme, I have discovered that strength bonuses apply for slings.
Does this mean that the bonus for halflings just compensates for the fact that their maximum strength is lower than average, and are the best with slings actually half-orcs due to their extra strength?

Halflings do get a +1 to hit with slings. It's reflected in your THAC0.
