In all honesty I have to say that IMO Morrowind was the better game, the story was so epic and just so intense at times I'd be up until all hours of the morning playing it. I just couldn't get into Oblivion the same way, I didn't feel the same passion that I felt for Morrowind and its expansions.

Morrowind in my opinion!
-Even I play Oblivion more atm. (maybe because I've spent most of my life with morrowind xD)
..Please carry through this
------
Because!...
The land of Vardenfell! -Cyrodil is a standard green forests / snowy mountains fantasy world.
Quests arent made for childs in morrowind.
Storyline is more interesting. Theres more depth in the characters around Vardenfell... -Wizards in their towers (Divayth fyr for example and other telvanni wizards). GODS ?vivec?, ?almalexia?, Sotha sil(dead), Hircine(YOU're My prey!). Vampirism is more deeper imo.
MUSHROOMS
Disease ( well im not sure do I like it. But it makes good athmosphere in the land of Vardenfell).
large, let me repeate... LARGE mod scene.
Many placed artifacts and unique items to find around the land.
Many functioning factions and types, guilds, great houses, legion, morag tong guild, temple etc...
SOLSTHEIM & TRIBUNAL
Thats just a small ammount of the things I prefer in Morrowind than Oblivion.
----------------------
But thats not it!
There is also things in oblivion I prefer.
Awesome graphics!
Better gameplay++++
Some good mods!
Dungeons and forts are pleasuring.
Many interesting Npc's
The end of the Mainquest was well made.
And theres more ofcourse.
------------
for the end If I'd need to rate these games in the scale of 0-5.
Morrowind 4.6-(definitelly the favourite game I've played so far. And it was also the first true RPG I played)
-some minus because of the old graphics and pretty sticky fighting system.
Oblivion 3.9
-This was a great game at the beginning but later it started getting boring. And I had the feeling "I've seen all this in another rpg". And the expansions of Oblivion ain't nearly as good as Morrowind's IMO. Shivering isles is a decent one and actually really entertaining.
---
I believe there might be an Issue about this post because the active morrowind and oblivioin players are naturally going to vote for their own specified game. Even without trying the other.
-Im going to reply this to the same kind of post in the other forum section as well, For those who dont visit both Morro and Obli.
Both games are awesome creations and definitelly deserve the place to the best games I've ever going to be playing.
I hope at least few of you managed to crawl through this. Theres many Typos / inaccurate terms included just because of my nature to be lazy.
Thanks and please share you're preferences!

While I'm not going to go into as much detail as Khaoz, Oblivion.
It had a
MUCH better journal.
Better equipment menu
Better miscellaneus details (There are f****** BUTTERFLIES flapping around)
Did I mention the journal?
the Shivering Isles RULED
Better face customization
Better enchantment screen
You could actually do something with magic other than Mark and Recall
Many more addons then Morrowind (though SI was the only really BIG one)
Better looking characters and screens
Oblivion realms were AWESOME
You can't screw up your game by killing a vitally important character
Less loading screens
Better Daedric worship
More realistic vampirism (though your getting older sucked)
The traps were pretty cool
WAY better graphics
Not to say that Morrowind didn't have its highlights
MUCH better storyline
Less protecting idiots who cant fight for c***
You don't just have to walk around following the green arrow; you have to THINK! (allthough in oblivion you can put a sticky note over the compass)
As Khaoz said, MUSHROOMS
Again as Khaoz said, disease
More interesting vampirism
There are probably a lot more things, but the first time I played this game was when I was 9 so I don't really remember much. (Not to say I didn't replay it a bunch) However, when I finally got Oblivion I went back to Morrowind once and almost immediatly turned it off and started up Oblivion

That pretty much sums up what I was going to say.

I am going to say morrowind, because the story line was so epic. oblivion may look better, but its storyline is put to shame by that of morrowind. and Vvardenfell is so much more diverse than tamriel, snow to desert, versus temperate forset to snow...

Indeed...
There is an identical thread in the Oblivion forum, and I don't want to cross-post by repeating what I have said there. I'll only point out here, as far as graphics go.. One, nice, shiny graphics do NOT make a good game, and two, there are tons of beautiful mesh and texture replacers for Morrowind, so appearance (for those on PC) does not even need to be a factor.

For me its kinda of both. So here are some topics on it.If you don't want to read all this to find out my answer, here it is, but feel free to know why. Oblivion
Graphics:Morrowind has ok graphics for 2002, but oblivion makes it look like nintendo 64. The lighting in Morrowind like in caves and spell casting, doesnt affect it's surroundings, so it doesnt look all real. But Oblivion does it so if you cast a spell near an enemy, you will be attacked.
Story:Morrowind has a pretty intense story, Oblivion does to. But Morrowind brings you back to old gaming where there's a boss at the end. Oblivion, more of a machine you try to stop than attack. Plus in morrowind, you get a bad*** ring. Oblivion, armor that you can use to look good, even if you got better armor, you could be a level and be safe.
Action:Morrowind is pretty ok with action, Oblivion keeps coming at you. Morrowind, you have to go in the action to kill someone or something. Oblivion, it finds you. You'll be walking down a path, and a bandit will come out of no where. Morrowind, you basically have to talk to the bandit to get him to attack you. And, the quests in Oblivion will get you into to it.Morrowind, you can attack someone like nothing if you have the cheats used.
Skills:Now this is where i was dissapointed in Morrowind.I played Oblivion 1st, so you can attack something without a high level in that skill. But Morrowind got me pissed off when i 1st played it.But its cool how you can enchant without a mages guild member's help. And my guy is on steroids on morrowind, his speed level is 1658 i think, maybe higher.Oblivion stops you at 100, which is ok, you can still kick butt.
NPC's & Monsters:I love Oblivion with the NPC's, its cool how you can talk to them and ask about rumors, and you here them talking.Morrowind is pretty good with interaction, because when you ask about a topic or have a quest with the topic, they are highlighted. The monsters in Oblivion make you feel like if you walk outside in the woods, you can find those animals.Morrowind has the caveman age monsters.
Items:Morrowind has some pretty good stuff that you can't find in Oblivion, like Sunder, Keening, Daedric crescent, and other stuff.I also like how you can stack things up on eachother like a tower, you should see my house, it has all these armor and weapons stacked up.Oblivion looks sick when you hold the weapons, it lights up a color when you draw it.Morrowind is cool with the color to.My guy is a rainbow with all his weapons and armor pieces enchanted.
So there's my reason why I like Oblivion, oh yah, if anyone would like to be friends, fell free to ask, ive been here and no one has added me.
