Incredibly Annoying Quest Completion

SPOILERS
Spoiler
Right now I am in the sewers under the copper coronet. I am trying to do the pipe thing. The order and getting all the pieces was not a problem, one of the easiest aspects of the game by far.

However, I am completely confused as to how I am supposed to put these stupid items to use now that I have collected them. How the hell do I put them into the pipes when it won't let me walk close, won't recognize anything dropped in front of them and something which automatically shocks me the moment I click the same pipe twice?

I don't remember dropping the items on the ground! I don't think you do that.

Go up to a pipe and trigger the text (which will dissappear after a moment) That will tell you which item it corresponds to. You know the order of the items from talking to Quallo. So if I remember right the hand is of prime importance = it is first. So find the text that will have something to do with a hand. Then click and an orange ball lights up (instead of a lightning bolt). I think the ring is second but I forget the logic behind that...and so on. I forget which one 'seals the deal' but that one is last. I think the items just need to be in your inventory.

Click on a pipe once and it reveals the item it needs. Click on a pipe again to drop that item in it. Just get the order right.

See, that's precisely the problem. I have it in my main character's inventory. I click it again afterwards to put the ring in and all I get is a lightning bolt -- nothing orange appears on my screen.

Does it have something to do with me having all the items already? I once tried dropping my entire inventory and everything on my body except for the ring, and all it did was shock me -- and my ring was still in my inventory iirc.

You're not supposed to put the items in their respective pipes. You're supposed to click the pipes in the correct order, when you have all 4 of the sewer items. Quallo has some hints as to the order, IIRC.

Lol, you have to put the items in in the right order. The pipes and Quallo provide hints, though you can just peek at the walkthrough here.

move on

click once on each pipe in order - if you do it more than once or in the wrong order, you get bolted.

Don't forget that once you get zapped by lightning, you have to start from the beginning again. I was reminded of that several times. :D

You have to be kidding me. They give you all these hints to finish an albeit simple puzzle, and all you need to do is have all four in your inventory when you click on the pipes?

I could have sworn I have already done that before, so I guess I'm going to have to hit the game again and see what it does this time. If everything goes right, Minsc has a new weapon! :D

Thanks guys!

And a memorable pairing it is, especially if you are running any of the party banter mods

Hi Dragon Wench! I just noticed the level of my idiocy. I thought this entire time Quallo was just helping with the order they were to be placed location wise, not time wise. Wow, good going on my keeping track of that, eh? :D

That's what you get for passing over a quest without paying it due attention! :p

I must remind myself to add that mod on the next play through. Right now Lilacor is making some comments which I am enjoying immensely.

Me and you and Minsc and Boo, and Lilacor + Banterpack, memorable indeed...

Minsc is definately my favorite NPC.
