can i get the amulet of power and ring of pro+2 if i side with bodhi? i usually go with shadow thieves cuz of those goodies but i heard(used search button) u get those even if sided with bodhi. i don't know can someone tell me plz the exact items i can get(and lose) by siding with bodhi plz. help would be greatly appeaciated! i'm planning a 3 ppl party and i don't wanna lose amulet of power cuz i have something in mind with it.

also i heard renal bloodscalp disappears in chapter 3 is this true? i wanna get that boots of speed off him too.

If you side with Bhodi, you will eventually get those two items, also, when siding with her, Renal Bloodscalp will disappear.

damn that 1-hit-kill guy who spawns whenever u touch a shadow thief. so there's absolutely no way to get those boots off renal if i side with bodhi?

EDIT: i did some searching and according to someone, u can get those boots if u take on renal after u sided with bodhi but before u receive the task to eliminate the shadowmaster whatever his name is. can someone confirm this?

Mmm, I think it's possible. I do recall getting his boots before.

I will try to elaborate:

Siding with Aran Linvail:

Advantages:
higher quest xp reward for ending chapter 2 (about 48 000)
good xp when storming Bodhi's lair
A potion of Invulnerability(relatively rare item) from the Guild Contract
Immediate achievement of the Amulet of Power and the Ring of Protection +2

Disadvantages: Valuable item loss.

Siding with Bodhi

Advantages:
The Rifthome Axe +3(a great throwing weapon)
Several +2 Light Crossbows, Leather armors and Short Swords, as loot
Ability to re-loot all inside Shadow Thief Stronghold(areas are replaced, and containers renewed)
An Elven Chain Mail +1
A ring of Djinni Summoning
Much quicker assembling of the Mace of Disruption +2.

Disadvantages:
Fewer overall xp
Lower quest xp reward at end of chapter 2 (about 36 000)
Renal Bloodscalp disappears
Late achieving of AoP and RoP +2

Actually, the only drawback from siding with Bodhi is the fewer overall xp. Plus, if you intend to do this with a solo character, do keep in mind that Aran's stronghold is protected by at least 3 Maze traps.

Renal Bloodscalp: has a pair of Boots of Speed (the 6th pair in the vanilla game), has a good quest with lots of xp and item&gold rewards.

Here's what I usually do when I decide to side with Bodhi(for minimal item loss):

PC must be a kind of spellcaster(a thief with UAI also helps)
Buying everything valuable from the Temple of Talos: the Priestess Ada refuses trade when you steal her necklace for Mae'var.
Buying everything valuable from Gorch.
Completing Mae'var's quest(and getting Edwin either in the party or in Copper Coronet) - afterwards Gorch is hostile.
Buying everything valuable from the Shadow Thief Market.
Attacking Renal Bloodscalp with a buffed with Improved Mantle(or Protection from Magical Weapons), and Haste(or Impr Haste) PC(best if he's alone: I.E. no party).
Arkanis Gath appears. His Killsword is considered to be of +3 enchantment, so ProMW or ImprMantle offer enough protection for 4 rounds.
Killing Renal and looting + donning the boots = double speed.
