what does skelter whisper to nines in the opening cinematic?

Hah nah I have no idea, but I assume it has something to do with the fact that the Prince was intending to kill you. They probably knew what was coming, which is why they objected so... passionately.

I could be wrong though!

If I were Skelter

I'd be whispering to Nines, "I'm just whispering to you because LaCroix is scared of you and I'm trying to freak him out. Act like I said something about that kid up there...."

I bet it was just right.

Turn subtitles on, all is revealed:
And I quote, "Skelter says: Whispering..."

Mystery solved.

Skelter says:will you come to my home later tonight to plan ... some things

I was looking for this thread the other day, but forgot what it was called. I played again over the weekend and managed to hear sort of what he was saying. I could clearly hear the words 'Prince', 'Bitch' and 'Today'. The rest isn't 100% clear, but it sounds something like:

"What's the Prince and his (little?) bitch do(ing?) today"

or

"What's the Prince have his (little?) bitch do today"

Basically I got the feeling he was referring to your sire, and Skelter was skeptical about the what was going on, and it's another comment that makes it look like the Prince and your sire are tight. Of course, he could have been talking about someone else, like the Sheriff maybe, but I like my interpretation

I played through as a Malkavian and noticed something a bit weird too: no one knows your sire except LaCroix. Every time you meet someone of note for the first time, they always comment on you being Malkavian as though they didn't already know. Seems odd that someone so close to the Prince would be pretty much unknown to everyone else.

Most of this stuff is probably just oversights on the developer's parts, but it does my head in anyway. One of the many reasons this game is awesome, it always makes you think!

Less weird explanation

I'm not sure that everybody commenting on your character being Malkavian bears any significance in and of itself. As the game says, Malks can take many forms from near-catatonia to homicidal. Perhaps they expected your character to be more like your Malk sire, who was perhaps not quite so obviously crazy (your sire did, after all, manage to seduce your character when he/she was human, and probably not insane, which suggests your malk sire could 'pass', in the vernacular, as not crazy). Then he sires your character, who is clearly full-goose bozo. Maybe that extreme difference is what throws them off. Isn't it Jeanette who says, "You've got it bad, don't you?" or words to that effect?
