Problem with Heart of Yaga Shura

I am trying to complete the quest to extinguish Yaga Shura's heart. I went to his home in the mountains killed everything there, and went to the brazier with his heart. When I picked it up it said that it was extremely hot, and so on. But then it wasn't/isn't in my inventory. So, I went and got Nyalee's heart and went back to talk to her at the temple. She says that I don't have both of the hearts. I was wondering if anyone could help me to figure out how I can get Yaga Shura's heart, because it isn't on the Brazier. Thanks for any help!!
