NPC additions for party

I'm going for another run throughout the BGII and ToB game.
My style is a weird mix of powergamer (i want to be able to kill stuff, and kill it good!) and roleplayer (i like the character interactions in the BG saga).
I also like to play classes i haven't used before but also stick to some things i like alot. Therefore i think i'll play a multiplayer game with 2-3 created characters and add some NPC's so i don't miss out on the interactions. My party will consist of at least:
-Monk: Protagonist, i haven't played this before and it seems interesting
-Sorcerer: I just love this class, both the lore and idea behind it as well as the power.
4NPC's: with at least
-Paladin: I'd like to use Carsomyr so i think I'll bring Keldorn on my travels.
What are your suggestions for the rest of the party. Also mention what gender I should pick for the protagonist regarding romances with the npc's you suggest.

With male you have 3 romance options, with female just 1 (that being Anomen, who's an idiot). You also need a thief, because as a powerplayer you will be interrested in the xp from disabeling traps (I suggest Yoshimo). When he...

Dies, you can get Imoen instead (or Jan Jansen, who is a great element for the roleplaying feeling with all his conversations with you) and let her learn all the spells you have with you for some heavy xp. Also,
taking Yoshimo's heart to the temple gives you around the 100.000 xp.
If you were to romance someone for the roleplaying experience, i'd pick Aerie or Viconia, since you kinda need a cleric. Viconia can be really strong with her high dexterity combined with the hammer of Faeyr. Aerie has the most fun dialogue for TOB with her even
getting pregnant. She's a Cleric/Mage, so that's kinda good for the sake of spells.

I suggest to play with some mods like Kelsey or Tashia. They are both sorcerors, come with many banters and Tashia is romanceable.
This way you dont need to play in multiplayer, avoiding the boring reload.
If you are picking Keldorn, you could take Anomen as well. Their relationship is interesting.
Apart from that, whoever you pick is fine. All of the NPC's has their fortitudes, so if you play well, there is nothing you can't beat.

No, it does not require a mod. It happens close to the end of ToB, given that you put enough time in the romance.

I'd say that you need a Thief-type, a Cleric-type, and another Mage-type. There may be slight spoilers in the following post.
For the thief, I'd suggest running with Immy through Irenicus' dungeon and taking Yoshimo in her absence. He's got decent enough thieving statistics(could use some more +Open Locks) to last you until his departure. Then pick up Immy once again.
You could knock out THREE birds with one stone by taking Aerie to fill the Cleric-Mage gap AND the open romance slot. That would leave one more slot available for anything of your choice(perhaps Keldorn for Carsomyr and the uber powerful Dispel Magic). Or you could take Viconia and Edwin for less versatility but much more power, and a romance to boot. Just watch your Reputation in this case.
There are so many NPC combinations to choose from, it really boils down to which NPC personalities you like and dislike. Personally, I hate Nalia and Korgan, after finishing Aerie's romance her whining is starting to annoy me, and I'm not a fan of Halflings so I never take Mazzy. Again, it's all opinion.
Good luck.
