hey, i'm sure we've all encountered this, where you are happily playing your game when you NEED a certain item to proceed on that particular quest, and you can not find it anywhere. at. all.
recently, i need to see lenton and kill the escaped prisoner in the archaeological barracks, but as ive already completed the creator ruins quest and Jax has gone and pissed off, and i have NO IDEA where my key is, i cant get in.

so does anyone have any ideas on this?

if you say the temple divining pool, that never seems to work for me- all tht i can retrieve from there is teh stuff i have manually dumped

Hmm...

I've never personally made use of the pool myself, but it should be only for items critical to completing the game; but since plot items rather standout. I allocate a place to keep all my keys so the worst problem I ever have is identifying which key is needed if they do not have good descriptions after awhile.

I suppose the quick resolution would be to find the item code list and active the in-game debugger to "hack" the key into your possession.

You might need to find the nwn.ini file (in your NWN installation directory, usually under C:\Program Files inside the NWN folder) and enter Debug Mode=1 in a new line under "Game Options".

In the loaded game with the problem:
#1 Hit the ~ key
#2 Enter into the prompt at the top left of the screen: DebugMode 1
#3 Place your mouse cursor somewhere near your character
#4 Hit the ~ key
#5 Enter into the prompt at the top left of the screen: dm_spawnitem m1s1key1

(I think m1s1key1 is the key you need, the list I have lists it as "Archeologist's key")
The key should spawn underneath your mouse cursor.

Note: Be aware that the commands are case sensitive.
