Hi,
I know I have alot of question but this is like learning how to walk again.
I was at the swamp and pierre at landing mentioned a witcher killer named Bonhart but that he was not around any more.
I did my home work and did some reading and it said nothin would come of it.
I went back to town (this is chapter 2) and I did the quest helping carmen and the ladies .
I completed that ,went to brothel to get paid.
When I walked out it went right to a cut seen and this guy was standing there with about 6 thugs .
Said he was a witcher killer and he was paid to kill me for killing a guard.
I fought with him for 2 hrs but could not lay a hand on him.
I keep knocking him down with aard but Geralt will not go in for the kill and this guy is back on his feet in 1 second.
I know that I have been bugging the more eperienced players with all my questions But I am stuck What am I missing here ? how do I get at this guy ?can anyone help? Thank you Whitetail

I'm baffled. That's never happened to me. Did you actually kill a town guard or something? I'm sure whoever that guy is, he's not connected to Bonhart or the quest of helping the hookers. What's his name?
It might have something to do with the hot potato quest, which I never did since Coleman was killed in my game. From the walkthrough:
"Paying Coleman 100 orens for the package won’t change anything (he’ll just laugh at you), but if you tell him to “forget it,” then he’ll get angry, and you’ll have to fend off a bandit attack the next time you visit the inn at night."
Maybe it was the "bandit attack" that you got caught in?
If you have to fight him anyway, try a different style (fast as opposed to strong, or group if there are a lot of bandits) and make sure you're using your steel sword. If you have a blizzard potion, drink it, power-up your Aard, knock him down; the slowed-time effect should give you time to do a finishing move. Or you could lead him to where there is a group of knights or guards - they might help you.

I've never seen this, but then I never killed a city guard. This might just be the game's way of discouraging you from making Geralt evil.

So, I checked, and this is indeed the case. At some point, either accidentally or intentionally, you must have killed a town guard. The game summons a headhunter to punish and kill you.
Sorry. Just be more careful who you attack.
